That was great Robin! Great to hear about your approach with launching the drone and using a safe home position…very smart! Such a great spot for that coffee with the weather to go with it 😎 That sudden change in weather was pretty shocking…weather behaviour is certainly a different beast out there! Your handy work and knowledge build up continues!! No more school runs for a while now…another entertaining watch 🤩🎉
Thank you Miriam. Always appreciate your support hugely. I have a question. Which tent would fit in this boat and sleep 3 lanky kilroys, and last a very long time.
@@VISTATREKKER oooohhhhh - I would go with an MSR. Either the 4 person Elixir 4 (3.6Kg) or the Mutha Hubba NX 3 (2.29Kg)...the 4 person might be so much more comfy for 3 though! The Vangos seem very weighty as you increase in size. I've 2 MSR tents and they've lasted me 9 years plus - they aren't great in really crazy winds but who wants to be out in those conditions!! My tuppence 😉
@@MiriamKennedy brilliant thank you Miriam. At the rate the kids are growing up I think 4 person tent is the only way. I’ll have a look at these and see. Thanks for your advice 👍
Well, that beats Costa or a roadside horsebox !!! . Nice location to hang out with 3 other dads 😊 and have coffee. Great weather as well. All the best.
It certainly does beat your average horse box Andrew. Absolutely cracking spot. Would love to extend this operation to include a little beach camping some day. Over water overlanding. Waking up on a cove like that would make the coffee even better still.
Nice Robin! A great production once again, getting better and better. I think your story telling is top notch and the explanations of shots are very welcome. Keep exploring!

@@WestCorkWander oh cool, you’ve gone all in, a boat as well, what type of boat do you have. A little bigger or say a sailing boat and maybe the fish recovery net strategy mentioned in comments below may also help.
@@VISTATREKKER the lr3 for land adventures and a warrior 195 for offshore adventures. Had 5 other boats over the last 14 years but this one fits well! It was our forever boat until we saw yours. ahh, woops, I now remember you telling me this before, the 195 with the shelter is also not without its merits, if my wife who is always virtually perished with the cold at sea saw yours she would be pointing at it and wondering why I didn't buy one like that. The best boat of course is the one available to a person right now, but I must say my little RIB, albeit after too many years of planning, was exactly the one I wanted. That is to say exactly the combination of compromises I accept. The only one that came close was the highfield 540, not sold here, and the 'Bord a Bord' Divinis 540 all aluminium also would need to be imported. The latter has no tubes, just bare double hull unsinkable aluminium, that would last an eternity, but I was worried about resale. It's all about RIBS here. An all aluminium unpainted oxide protected boat would have been an oddity around here if I ever had to sell. Ahh, boats, sure we could talk forever, better off to just get going 😄

Great video again. On the last trip you had some issues with the fuel. I searched this boat and it seems to not to have any fuel gauge? How are you managing that?
Thanks for the feedback. Genuinely appreciated. It has no fuel gauge but the fixed tank is 45litres and so far this trip was the most I’ve ever used in single a day at 18litres. I dip it with a wooden stick which I calibrated by filling the tank 10 litres at a time. My reserve tank is just a 20 litre plastic hand carry tank but it actually does have a float gauge, not to mention you can tell by the weight, so if I’m ever getting that tight I’ll have warning. Finally I have a 3rd 10litre can just for if I’m really losing track of myself someday😁 Also I have a syphon pipe which you see in one of the recent videos, I think the one listed as ‘speed trial’ with a bulb pump on it so that I can move fuel around safely and neatly if I ever have to do so at Sea. A gauge would certainly have prevented the issue you mentioned but equally my wooden stick could have done the same.
@@joselopezsanchez2359 hi José I will try, probably won’t get to it until autumn though. One thing I will say - Put the maximum 100hp on it. Same block size. Very economical compared to harder working smaller engines and hops up on the plane without a second thought regardless of how many passengers.

Re drone recovery . Grab a medium size fishing net. Scoop the drone out of the ski. Works everytime
Think I’ve seen the lads in safe haven marine doing this and it looks like a great strategy. I guess the net opening needs to be big.
