Grande MARTINUCCI, grande orchestra.
Stupendo ❤direttore
I love Alessandra Marc! She sounds like a lifted contralto with that rich, full-bodied tone.
I think Franco Alfano deserves credit for finishing the love duet and final scene from Puccini's far from definitive sketches.
You realize that this ISN'T the true Alfano ending, right? It's the butchery that was inflicted upon it after its premiere (where Toscanini was an arrogant prick and ended the opera at Liu's death)
@@stevielagan1948 The duet is indeed the Alfano duett (albeit with one or 2 cuts) but the chorus finale is sadly not Alfano. The version reverts to the old traditional version (heard on 99% of the recordings without Turandot and Calaf's Ertenita
@@stevielagan1948 What Toscanini did at the first performance was a beautiful thing. For those who did not know, at the end of the section where Liu's body is taken off and we hear a lone, sad piccolo, pianissimo, reaching to the sky, Toscanini turned to the audience and said that here the master laid down his pen. And the performance ended there. Your name-calling doesn't change a thing, except to tell us all we need to know about yourself. I have never read/heard/seen anything disparaging Toscanini's gesture.
Absolutely, Toscanini putting down the baton at Lius death was beatiful. The complete butchery on Alfanos ending he later inflicted was not. The cut Alfano version (Alfano 2) does by no means justice to Alfanos beatiful composition.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Martinucci three times better than Eyvazof. Very good Liú
I would say Martinucci is 3000 times better than Eyvazof :D
Even with over 60 years old.
gira la cote so slow
¿Qué le habrá pasado a Martinucci acá? Su "Non piangere, Liù" es atroz.
Whatever you gripe against Martinucci, you expose your vile agenda, or monumental ignorance, with your comment. He sings this aria very well, indeed. He also sings his Third Act aria well, mebbe even better! You may now slither back under your rockl

Marc sings this role as well as anyone these days. A little short of breath, but, otherwise, she manages the terrifying tessitura quite well.
Gallardo sings her role beautifully. Not the light soprano we often hear, but a genuine spinto. A joy to hear.
