- In today’s video we feature Kimbra, a almost retired military nurse who travels for the most part, solo. The RAM Promaster van was purchased by her, and she sent it to OGA vans in Frederick, MD for a partial van conversion. When it was complete with the shell build, she finished it with her own touches.

My pleasure!
Great video!!! Folding doggy pool and flexible shower rod, AWESOME IDEAS!!! ALWAYS THUMBS UP FROM THE 641..
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks! I feel the energy in that comment and that’s awesome
Beautiful, cozy van build.
Glad you like it!
Thank you.
I absolutely love this build (or non-build depending on how you want to look at it) - Kimbra has really done a great job personalizing her van in ways that fit her needs & her personality. I hope she & her husband & her doggie have many great journeys. Thanks for another great video, Patrick!
Thank you for that-very kind.
Couldn't agree more!
I love the eclectic look and the antiques. The shower is great. Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much!
Thank you. Antiques and the hunt for them are def my weakness :-)
What a fabulous van i love the two bed combo
I love it too
Thank you-it’s worked out well for us :-)
Great build. I love the partial build idea. Thank you for telling us the budget. It really helps us. ❤❤❤❤
So glad!
No question is ever off limits-and I always wanted to know costs too, so I get it.
Lots of great features. It’s always interesting to see the custom features people come up with.
I totally agree
I love trying to come up with different ways to do typical things. Didn’t want it to look like my house…and enjoy experimenting
I really like this! It's Homey, Functional, Just the right amount of conviences... and No Pretence.
So happy to hear
Thank you for that.
Hi Patrick
Always Enjoy Your Videos
Nice Build ..
Thanks Leonard
Thank you
Great job on the bathroom/shower! Love your style! (Jane)
Thanks so much! 😊
Thanks for saying so, Jane. Appreciate it.
It's got a cozy cabin look - nice results.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Awesome build! What an inviting space.
Thank you for that.
It really is!
Great lady with great ideas! Going to check out her channel now 😎
Awesome! Thank you!
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures 👍👍 Been watching you for a couple of years. Love your videos 😎
I always enjoy your videos!
Glad you like them!
I do really like this set up. I am trying to build my van for two (myself and my daughter) and enjoy the uniqueness of this.
Thanks. I’ve seen some interesting builds with separate twins-such as actual bunks, and another with a twin and then a murphy bed that drops down (mid wall, for a non-window van), for the second twin. If you’re smaller people and don’t mind the width being less, a narrow twin saves 6 inches (36 vs. 30 wide).
I’m actually currently redoing my layout, and turning that second which/twin to the side, and also noted that with them still on two levels, the lower one can slide underneath the top one, so (your daughter’s) feet would be under the upper bed (if that makes sense). Saves ‘living’ space.
That is awesome!
Hey Patric This is Absolutely great seeing this van should give everyone the options to do what ever they want how ever they want
Yes, THAT. Professional builds are beautiful, but I wanted my van to express me in a way that a professional build may not.
So happy you liked the tour
Great van conversion! I agree with Patrick the open layout is refreshing . The simplicity , warmth add character and charm to the build. Thank you Patrick another great video with yet another great build!
Well said!
Thanks-and Patrick is a super star :-)) even cooler in person than he seems on the channel-great experience.
Now THIS is an excellent van build. I love everything about it!!
Glad you found this one and the channel
I love that comment - thank you.
@@coffeewithkimbra I'm totally subbing your channel to binge watch your build ☺️
@@seabliss22 your energy is awesome, and thank you.
Kimbra is so cute.
Love the build and the tour
Great looking build, I really like it a lot, very spacious. Nice job, very well done, thanks for sharing Patrick. 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻👍🏻
Glad you like it!
Thank you for that.
Adorable setup and I love that she made it her own style.❤
Thank you--feels so great to get all the support.
I subscribed to her channel without checking it out, because I love her creativity, practicality and brains to create a functional and cool van without breaking the bank. Thanks Patrick and thank you for all the other tours you’ve given..and that voice!
Thanks, Silvia :-)
Great idea with the placement of the 2 mattresses! As a solo traveler I am always interested in finding comfortable ways to accommodate a friend coming along for a few days. Plus, having a sofa is great!
The shower/bathroom configuration is quite clever. It seems very warm and cozy inside. The only thing missing is a cup of hot cocoa. 😉 It does feel airy without any upper cabinets however, those do add lots of storage. Trade-offs, huh. I guess it all depends on one's needs. The antique lamp is beautiful, nice touch!
Thank you both for the tour. Safe travels!
Excellent feedback
Thank you so much. The couch-bed def takes away any awkwardness with guests who normally wouldn’t share beds :-) as for storage-when my husband travels with me it’s a bit tighter in there for ‘things’-but when solo I have tons of unused room. I tweek things for the occasion.
Hi dude from Malaysia fan's watching enjoy your day dude ❤😅
Thanks! You too!
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures your welcome ✌️🤠
Hello patrick happy st Valentines day
Thanks Janice
Lovely build. That hanging light really sets it off for me. Thank you for the tour.
Glad you enjoyed it
Love all the vintage things. She did a great job. Very common sense design.
Thank you-love the choice of words. :-)
I totally agree!
Personal and smart choices. Not your typical 😉 "follow the leader" build. Great choices. Beautiful build indeed. My shower is identical, and I use a large, collapsible pet pool to stand in. Love love this van home. Safe travels. Namaste.
I have tried a few things with the shower and love the versatility. Thanks for following, and be safe out there.
Awesome! Thank you!
SO SMART putting the Working Dog sticker! Thank you for this idea, I will definitely be implementing this.
i love the ingenuity of the shower. excellent.
Me too
There goes that adventure van again...
Always
It's just so inspiring to experience and watch your videos. As someone who has been struggling with life and trying to find a way back, van life has been on my mind on and off for years, but finally this year I am already started looking to buy a van. Thank you for the little push and I wish you all the best. :)
You got this!
The search is half the fun :-)
Go for it!
VERY NICE.. love the use of furniture, love the style, setup and comfort. LOVE the cabinet, the deep sink , all the other little touches..
Thanks so much!
I love it! I enjoy her creativity in using the vintage pieces.
Thank you so much!
Thanks-those old things make me happy.
Like the shower setup, and the dog pool that folds up
So much space with the pool…but it’s a bit cumbersome. Gotta weigh the pros/cons.
Frederick Maryland.....Yay. Finally, someone in the DMV.
Yes 🙌🏼
That's what I like about DIY bills you don't buy fancy furniture to put in them you buy them used or you can go to yard sales and buy furniture that people have in houses that's what I did in my build..
Love the DIY approach
Love the uniqueness of doing that-and it just feels good
@@coffeewithkimbra so true couldn't say it better myself.
This is a lovely conversion.
Glad you like it
Thank you so much.
Another great van build, simply built, lots of awesome ideas how to do things looks great
Glad you enjoyed it
Love the simplicity!
Me too!
Very cool 😎 👌 👍

Просто, понятно, практично!
Умница!
Glad you like it
Thank you for that :-)
I love this build, so many good ideas.
Glad you like them!
Thanks! Some of them are my own, and many from the thousands of vans I’ve seen. Teamwork :-)
They did a great job. Best of luck and safe travels.
Thanks for the support Jim
Thanks, Jim.
Love the simplicity and comfort that you did to your van. It's saying Welcome. Thanks for sharing and Safe Travels 🙏 😊
Our pleasure!
😍😍😍😍
Thanks Laura
So many great ideas!! Love reusing the old light fixture with an LED lamp and a screw-in adapter glued to the top!
Totally!
Excellent tour! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Cindy! Thanks for watchin’
I love the layout and the repurposing of the antiques. The bed couch is a great idea.
Thanks so much!
Very nice. I love all your furniture, I love old and different decor. Love the cider. I really like you build. Good job.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much.
Love the simplicity.
Thank you (me too:-)
Us too!
I love this van. Very tastefully laid out. I have gained some great ideas for my van. Love the way she did the hanging light and magnets on the windows. Thank you for this. Happy traveling.
Thanks so much!
The magnets were a last resort (and permanent!)-but they work well. Just think about that a while ;-)
Glad you guys made this full tour video. Really liked the "gone in a flash" film. Thank you 👍👍
Our pleasure!
the shower is a really cool idea, lovely van
Thank you.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Nice tour. Her van is designed well. I Luke her shower system. Well done. Thanks for the tour.
Thank you :-)
Thanks for watching!

Thank you for that.
Thank you for sharing this inspiring Van built from a fabulous sugar mama😊
Glad you liked it!!
Thank you.
The shower design is very unique, but functional
It really is
Nice layout. Clever idea for to shower too.
I think so too!
Thank you. It def beats taking up permanent space in there for it.
Another great build! Thank you! 😄❤️
Thank you!! 😊
Thank you.
Yo Patrick, another great tour of a very unique van. I am a Marine. I definitely appreciate her Weapons Wall.👍 SEMPER FI. Kimbra came up with so many cool, innovative ideas. The shower/pan, Thermos water jug, double twin bed, cabinetry, hanging lantern, rope covered PVC. Very cool build. Thanks again, from Mid Michigan
(Hoo-uh) (said much better than written out :-) Navy here.
Thanks for your comment-means a lot.
@@coffeewithkimbra OooRah. 🤣
@@geraldmerkel7145 the R has never been heard from me-that’s funny
Glad you enjoyed it
Beautiful van.
We agree!
Thank you, Kimberly.
But the build is a good build I like the way it looks great job on it is a high top and it's extended that's much better also..
Right on
Nice job and a super interesting shower
It really is!
Thank you- the shower is perhaps the most surprising thing for me (for how functional it’s turned out to be-without devoting 1/4 of the van to it, permanently). Thanks for the comment.
Love what you do with the dirty water from showering. That’s utilizing wasted water.
Clever
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures very clever
Thanks for saying so. :-)
Simple build with some really nice features. Just curious as to what year this van was that it had over 100k miles on it. What is the typical life of a dodge promaster chassis?
I have seen so many with well over 200k. As a shuttle, they drive 30-50k a year
Yeah, the miles weren’t great. It was tough then, as it is now, to find a van that was the size I wanted with an impecable service record (#1 for my MUSTS, even tho it isn’t a guarantee that all will go well). I actually drove off the lot without the van because I just wasn’t sure. But they called, reduced the price a bit, and gave me a 1-year full warranty (which I replaced my AC with). It was just a good budget call and figured I wouldn’t put another 100k on it (but I never say never). Hubby was cool with the price vs miles too-so we went for it.
The service record was key for me. And it was in better shape than the two others on the lot for body and basic condition.
Why didn’t you like the marine pump?
A few things-it’s a very small ‘pull’ of water with each pump and when filling a coffee pot or large water bottle, it felt laughable (and took some effort). It also made a rather loud whistling noise with each press (could have been some air coming into the pump but I don’t think so)-and lastly-unless you are full-time and that water never sits long in the tubes, or you remove the tubing from the foot pedal after each trip, water will sit stagnant and become smelly. I would put a bleach solution thru the lines to clean-but didn’t solve the issue (and added another problem with my fear of the bleach degrading it or hurting me). Even after that cleaning it would smell really funky. Three strikes.
👍
This one is nice if your not trying to spend too much money just throw somethings in back of your van
It’s really a great build
Can you add a small drain pan for shower?
Most people are able to build into the floor or drill holes-but my van has a very thick piece of metal that’s been added (before me), thAts welded on - and couldn’t be removed without $$$$, so I left it. I didn’t want to take up another few inches by raising the floor beyond the insulation on top ( for a true pan).
Yes, absolutely
Good information
👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the support Kay
🙏👍👏👍🙏
Thanks for the support
20,000 not including electrical! I guess I'll be building my own. Dang these things are expensive.
Build on for your budget and needs
Yeah…it gets costly. But I’m sure it saved me many stressed out moments and temper tantrums with myself.
You don't have to be full time idea part time we can worry they serve a lot of purposes these compliments awesome and you save a lot of money too if you go to some holiday resort and you have to pay for hotel fees hotel fees is like $200 a night you can live in your Van for free so it saves a lot of money for you when you travel weather full time part time or just weekend worrying...
Yes, vanlife can save money in many ways
For sure!
Way beyond minimalism:which means extreme spareness and simplicity so I’m guessing the title of the video. means after purchase of a minimal van , her seasonal build
Looking back, the van itself was the over-kill. If doing again; I would try it in a Dodge Grand Caravan (with how often I’m solo out there). But I do enjoy standing-so there’s that :-)
That remote control that is attached to the steering wheel will be sent through the skull of the driver if ever that airbag is deployed.
That’s actually something I have never even thought of before--crap. Thanks for the input, I’ll be moving it. My radio is just a reach-have to figure something else out. Thank you.
60k overall?
Thank you for the video, Kimbra is sure very inventive and the thought she put into the interior design is amazing, though, when it came to the garage, I think she lost interest :)
There is always room to upgrade different areas as time goes on
Lol :-) I JUST made a shelf for back there last week-promise! You’re absolutely right :-)
@coffeewithkimbra You are Great 👍 Thank You and Happy Travels!
lovely, but tooo expensive at this time
Baby steps get ya there. I should have started with a mini-van, if I could give myself advice in the past. But I have zero regrets (enjoy standing, which I couldn’t have done in a mini).
Sorry to hear that
Get your van weighed. You could be over weight. If you know what it is, you could avoid future problems.
Don
7,800lbs, equal per side. (With people and a dog in it). Will be less soon because I’m currently making some changes. The weight stresses me out.
I will live on the road, only if I have a man, a good full bathroom and comfy bed to sleep, other than that, I wouldn't do it. I don't care about having a full kitchen that much, just the basic and easy to cook food not to die out of starvation.
You can do this
Very true about basic food. I get lazy or something out there myself and tend to not cook. I’ve always felt safe tho, even without the husband traveling with me.
the wood on the wall and ceilings really gives it a super cozy, cabin-like feel! could def see myself lounging in there in the middle of the trees!
I totally agree!
Thanks, I love it too. And it’s nice to enjoy the inside-rain days (when they happen), as well as the outdoor time.
