    THIS part: "As men we're always trying to figure out the best way to deliver information so that our wives don't take it the wrong way." HOW and WHEN you say are just as important as WHAT you say.

    • @viceanterra3
      @viceanterra3 3 роки тому +13

      The how and when is not exactly straightforward. Sometimes the time is never right. And sometimes the how is also never right.
      I remember I tried so hard to edit what I was trying to say to my wife for a particular issue we were having, the original message was completely lost. She had to reconsider how she heard what I said eventually because what I had to say would have bothered her no matter how it was said or when.
      So yes I have to watch how and when I say what I say, but she has to consider how she's interpreting what's being said as well. It's a give and take.

      Women can't handle truth.

    • @verb0ze
      @verb0ze 3 роки тому +13

      This is by far the hardest thing in communicating with a gf/wife. Most of the time, we men are used to saying things "matter-of-factly", straight to the point. The editing tend to often erode the original message, and sometimes, it's never quite right. I think it's because men are typically more logical and women more emotional (before you crucify me, I don't mean that in a deregatory way, I mean they listen more with emotions, to try to get the feeling behind the message -- see, I'm already editing myself for the women in the audience here 😅). It goes the other way as well: we guys usually just want to hear what the problem is, and how we can solve it, tend to get confused/impatient when the problem is described through feelings and emotions (and sometimes, there isn't even anything to fix, we just need to listen, but that's not how our minds operate lol)

    Dear Black Love Team, thank you so much for creating this series. I am having a difficult day today. I have lost my job, I am anxious, and I am worried about my future.
    It was nice to listen to the couples. I love that they tackle serious issues, and can do so with laughter.
    Please keep this up. Thank you for including different kinds of relationships among your guests. The hosts are wonderful, and they interact well with the guests. I also love how they are with each other (the hosts). Everyone looks so comfortable.

      @@mrsb0215, thank you so much for taking the time to read my comment, and for responding. Thank you so much for encouraging me as well. I am trying to trust in God, and I am struggling with my faith. This is very painful for me. I am probably going to have to move in 6 weeks or so, and that adds to my anxiety as well, as I do not know where I will be going (yet).

      @@sylvietapos807 You’re very welcome. I pray that your faith will be renewed and that this time will be an opportunity for you to draw closer to Him, for you to truly trust in the plans He has for you. Easier said than done of course but one thing I know for sure is that no matter what we are going through, God cares for us and He sees our cries. The word also tells us to cast our anxiety on Him because he cares for us. One step at a time. Call on His name in those moments of anxiety and worry. Meditate on His word and listen to worship songs to life you up. I’ve been in a rut these past few days but I made a conscious decision to just praise Him despite it all. To just call on His name knowing that He’s truly in control even when we don’t see it. I pray that you will receive clarity and peace about what’s next for you. I pray that despite it all, you would have a grateful spirit. As I pray for you on this, I’m ministering to myself as well. 🙏🏼❤️

      @@mrsb0215, thank you again, so much! Thank you for your prayers as well, I appreciate them so much. Thank you for ministering to me, while you are also ministering to yourself. I have done that in the past, so I understand.
      I am so sorry that you have had a few challenging days. I will be praying for you, and praying that things will get better for you.
      I spent three hours this morning with God, and I will write in my gratitude journal this evening. It helps me to pray for others, I tend to intercede better for others, and press through for them, than I do for myself. I have unfortunately given too many days to the enemy, by worrying, being anxious, and beating up on myself. I am working on having a different attitude. 1-Praise God as you suggested, 2-continuing to be in His Word, and 3-listening to worship songs. Have you watched the video "The God Who sees?" I only watched it today, it is soooo good. It ministered to me. I watched it twice, and I was crying both times.
      Have a great evening! And thank you again for your time 💜🙏

    I find this so interesting. I have the same situation. My partner was taken care of by his family all his life. He never had to manage his finances and lived at home until we moved in together. I however, grew up poor. I always had to take care of myself and had experience living on my own. I seem to be the person controlling the finances to make sure bills are paid and we have savings. He had to come to terms with his finances and his spending habits. He realized how much he was being covered by his family. It's nice seeing couples who grew up in different financial backgrounds and how they deal with it.

    When it comes to a marriage it take the strength of both partners to help carry each other’s burden and the burden shouldn’t be on one spouse to carry along but it’s takes both spouse in Unity in oneness and it takes the cooperation of both partners to build their empires together. . ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎

    Great convo again! I'm so guilty of many of the behaviors that the men see in their women. I have to self reflect a little now lol

    Not sure why folks say spoiled. If your parents took care of you and worked hard to provide a better life, that’s fine. Folks who don’t have that background sound sad when they let the bitterness show.

    Guys he said a key word: MY WEDDING, when she stated "my wedding" red flags.....I guess they are marrying themselves. LOL...... When you find a true partner or a special woman that wants to EQUALLY bring as much to the table you definitely got a winner. She's not selfish or self-centered, she truly loves you and wants to build not take as a lot of women continually do.....

    I noticed they didn't even interact with the same sex couple much. They must have been invited for inclusivity but yet there isn't equivocal respect regarding love and relationship

      Maybe it’s not because they’re same sex but they have only been together for one year. The other couples have been together over five years so they’re more relatable and experienced. The same sex is still in the honeymoon phase plus the darker skin girl stated that she gets money and spend. And they almost split up within that year due to finances.

      They made the effort, for sure. It's not their typical interaction so of course it takes extra effort to stray away from the usual man vs. woman comparisons that the marriage convos tend to lean towards when female/male couples come together. There are just some aspects of female/female marriages that don't translate to female/male marriages and vice versa, and that is okay. I think they were acknowledging of the differences and did a good job of trying to balance that.

    It's important to yield at your proud in marriage. It's ok to ask your mate for help. Money is the place to be more transparent.

    Oh good, it’s not just me who doesn’t know how to enjoy life coz I’m always looking at the money. I’m a big saver and planner; life just makes sense when you know your bills can be taken care of if you were to suddenly be out of a job, for instance.

    This is the realistic conversation I've heard on UA-cam in a long time. Real life situations and marriage issues. My hudnabd didn't believe he was spending $1000 on fast food. And I cook!
    And that spending denial is real. My husband swears he doesn't spend $.

    Whew communication is important when it comes to finances. The gentleman that said it was convenient to split only when it was beneficial for the woman was an assumption he made because he didn’t communicate. Most women will work with you and do not expect you to shoulder everything because the economy that we will live in today does not always allow that.
    It all just comes down to communication and setting expectations together.

    "Some of it could've been my delivery because, AS MEN, we're always tryna figure out the best way to deliver information so that our WIVES don't take it the wrong way..."
    As evidenced by the composition, emphasized words, tone & *delivery* of that sentence, I'm pretty sure he fails at that...a lot.
