Reflecting on my own experience, when I was signed to a label, my creative autonomy was virtually non-existent. My inability to pursue projects that resonated with my personal vision was why you didn’t see the work I truly wanted to produce. Behind the scenes, I was engaged in writing, creating music, and editing videos, but much of what you see today in the industry, including the purported popularity of major artists, is artificially inflated. Companies employ tactics to manipulate numbers without facing legal repercussions. There’s an entire world behind the scenes that remains unseen by the public.
Truthfully, I’ve found greater fulfillment and success in creating conscious music independently than I ever did under the label’s constraints. Being independent means you can create the best song in the world, but without the promotional tools and platforms that major labels possess, it’s challenging to reach a wide audience. Success in this independent path feels akin to winning the lottery. Yet, growing slowly and steadily, as I am now, aligns more closely with my original aspirations.
The opportunity to start anew with a fresh concept and more effective strategies for supporting others in their growth through conscious music has been incredibly rewarding. However, change requires a willingness to break old habits. This music aims to inspire transformation, but its effectiveness depends on the listener’s commitment to personal development.
I resonate with your pragmatic outlook, but the difference lies in our actions towards self-improvement and recognizing that success in music transcends fame. Success can take many forms, including the ability to impact listeners meaningfully.
With the advent of new tools and platforms, the possibilities for music creation and distribution have expanded significantly.
