Carlos is being dead ass serious and the reporter is having a laugh haha can't blame him tho, the passive aggression between Paul and Carlos was wittingly subtle, and Paul pretty much set him up. We love ya Carlos, especially for these moments but also as the Enchanter of Bass
Carlos Dengler is well spoken, well dressed. Fucking lives the part because it's genuine. I can see why he had an identity crisis. He has so much more to offer even though god damn it I miss him as a bassist.
@@elizabethbarajas8614 Like playing cards with Robert Smith??? I think not! Lol but in all seriousness, I would've respected Carlos's boundaries. It's just too bad he wasn't having fun being in Interpol- I subscribe to the seemingly very popular opinion that the band was never as good without him.
@@joelglanton6531 He actually loved being in the band and writing music, he just despised touring. Especially when he got clean of drugs around 2007. He didn't mind touring in USA. I wish he would've stayed and wrote music and done some live shows around NY and then they had Pajo do backup when he didn't wanna go out. Would've been perfect.
Robert Smith, King of rejectors is rejected by Carlos D. It's beating them at what they do best and Carlos Did it. Ppl who understand all about the world or can beat a God are underrated ppl not well know. And that's what makes Carlos d legendary.
@TheDsb03 Because he believes "in the cliché of money being the root of all evil. That being said, constructing games around the acquisition of these slips of paper is like indulging in the very evil essence that it is." He once said that in a magazine ;)
Carlos is being bullied here and had been pretty ostracized from the group I think, mostly by Paul. I also see Daniel giving Paul sideway glances in the hopes of getting a laugh in other interviews. I used to really be a fan of Paul, but not as much anymore. Carlos' body language is pretty tense here; luckily he is validated somewhat by the interviewer's reaction--the laugh--at the end of Carlos' story, and the other guys are kind of looking at the interviewer a little amusedly because they aren't used to seeing Carlos as entertaining, I think. Hopefully I'm not reading too much into it.

Omg Carlos baby. He's all quiet in the corner
He could have played cards with Robert Smith that’s crazy. But really admirable that he kept his ground.
I hate when someone tries to make me do something I already said no to more than twice!!! I feel u Carlos
We just want you to experience all life has to offer lol
@@joelglanton6531 lol I think some things are worth missing out on

Who’s the guy doing the interview? Forgot his name he used to host VH1 and I’d watch him every time back in the day.
It's Jim Shearer.
@jokekickass2 I wonder are we wondering the same thing. XD
He doesn't gamble but he's part of the music business...ok.
You don't understand the Jews. It's fine.
Was, and they were somewhat indie.
whatever. snots. have a drink and relax will you?
😂 one year later...
Wow aha more like you need to relax you fucking troglodyte
Your buddy sounds like a total whining bitch - no wonder you can relate. Glad he’s out of the band.
he drinks and does (or did) cocaine, prior to Interpol’s existence. personally i still think gambling is worse.
