For Ezran, like the others, it's not just one emotion, but a whole bundle of emotions and deep feelings. And Ezran's weak childish psyche simply cannot cope with everything that has befallen him. It looks like the boy had a nervous breakdown that led to the disconnection of part of the emotional spectrum. The protective function of the child's psyche has worked. And Raila has a special way of believing in her loved ones very strongly. And she fully believed in Ezran's ability to focus on forgiveness, kindness, and ending the cycle of violence. This absolute faith did not turn out well in this case. And each of them can be understood. It's so sad.😥

It’s like in season 4 when Rex Igneous was mocking Avizandum and Ezran said “everything abizandum did was to protect Xadia” even though he also got his mother killed.
Callum and Rayla really only have themselves to blame for Ezran arresting Runnan. Neither of them bothered to mention to Ezran that they were hoping to free Runnan before they left for the Starscrapper. If they had, the three of them could have sat down and have a conversation about Runnan, and Ezran would have had time to process his feelings and think about what he wants to say to Runnan instead of surprising him right after his home was destroyed.
Ezran reaction to Runaan is thr most realistic here, not to mention Runaan was ready to kill Ezran as 10 years old for the dumbest reason. I agree, they didn't told him, it their fault.
The possible release of Runaan was not mentioned to Ezran for a very simple reason. Rayla had made it clear even before Callum's plan with the pearl was approved that she did not intend to look for anything on the Starscraper for herself. And when she was on the Starscraper, she also didn't mention quasar diamonds at all. Their mining was entirely Callum's initiative-for her. Therefore, it would be very strange to tell Ezran before leaving about plans that were not actually planned.

And since he was so determined to free them for her, he should have thought to mention that to Ezran. Of course, I could be wrong, and it was simply a way to go back to carrying around just one staff on a side note, I am glad to see you recognise the context leading to Ezran's sudden blow-up at Runnan, that while it seems completely sensible on paper, it's not entirely driven by logic (something I get the impression some others have not quite picked up on), that with Sol Regem no longer alive to direct his anger at, and no-one aware of Aaravos being the mastermind behind the attack, he lashed out at the first target that literally wandered across his path at the worst possible time, unconcerned for how it might affect Rayla, since I would imagine he is at least somewhat aware of her connection to Runnan. I'm of the impression that if this reunion had occurred literally just a day or two ago, the encounter, while still hard and heavy, might have been more salvageable without emotions running high beforehand, making this even more regrettable/unfortunate while I can agree that Rayla bringing Runnan to Katolis might have been a risky move, I think the lack of any knowledge of the situation played it's part in this, since for all they knew, it might have just been a small cluster of houses that caught fire via a dropped candle, not the entire kingdom being deliberately attacked and set ablaze by a blind Archdragon (on that note, I assume the village surrounding Katolis was also burned during the attack, whether due to proximity to the castle, or Aaravos deliberately destroying both castle and village in order to fully clear the way for Claudia to reach the pearl unimpeded and without witnesses, so Callum and Corvus might have assumed Human Aaravos was simply one of those villagers who came to find Sol Regem in his anger and grief - like Ezran - and just happened to discover him dead); plus, after having just got him back after 2 years believing him dead, I can understand Rayla not wanting to be too far from Runnan, especially since he hasn't given himself the proper time to recover, and, as you've noted, Ezran has been bottling his anger up for a very long time, so such a strong reaction might not have crossed Rayla's mind as something particularly plausible, especially since (again, as you noted) there was no such reaction directed at Zubeia anyway, hope that all made sense, and see you next time
