The original song by Kiiara, is heavily auto tuned. Mitch does it with ease!
Not just autotuned, the part where Mitch flips around is sampled and mixed. Kiiara doesn't sing it live, her DJ plays it.
Subtle virtuosity. Words. Fail.
And you should definitely head over and check out SuperFruit! Especially the Hip Hop goes Broadway 1 & 2. Mitch and Scott, and hilarious.

Well-mic'd and mixed live performance fan? Popspring Live - you've got to do it!!! 4 songs, 3 of them originals, plus Evolution of MJ. They were on fire and it was a fabulous set - better than any of the official videos for the three songs that have them and Kirstie's lead on "Water" is killer, no official video for that one.

Any of their Evolution videos (which are recorded live) are great. There are also a number of New Year's Eve performances, Pop Spring '16. I love them any way I can get them, but I also love their live stuff the most.

There are a few ‘private performance’ cell phone videos floating around as well. These are off mic, in a small-ish room with poor acoustics…and still sound amazing. I think of all their live performances these impress me the most. I’ve seen Daft Punk, Valentine (personal fav), and Take Me Home. I’m sure there are others I’m forgetting about.

Love, love, love your reaction. Thank you for appreciating all the parts separately and together. So many reactors don't appreciate Avi and Kevin. Incredible! I agree with others...if you listen to Kiiara's original you can see what Mitch was up against.
What I would love for you to listen to is some of their original songs, from the 2015 album “Pentatonix”. That would be awesome, there are a lot of songs from that album and from their earlier releases (where they have included one of their own).
(Those gets lost, and doesn’t get enough reactions, IMHO. 😁)
Their vocal gymnastics are spectacular...
You should look up PBS news hour version of can't sleep love. They are literally asked to sing it during an interview and it's fabulous. It's one of their originals.
You might love their iheart radio live performances. They are very well mixed and are examples of some of their earlier original music. I like Cracked.

I haven't seen it mentioned yet but if you want live, you have to check out their Silent Night. It's just them in a cathedral hallway with a camera, if I remember correctly.
Had you watch the original (even the first 30 seconds of it) you will be even more impressed. As others have said, the original is all electronic tricks. The round at the end is fantastic. There are a few really good live performances out there.
Since you enjoyed this so much, you'd love their Evolution of Rihanna or Evolution of Ariana Grande. Both are recorded live and 2 of my favs. The arrangements are so good. They all have a moment to shine. Matt & Kevin are so much fun to watch live. I'd love to see your take on either one. 🙏🏼🔥

And also Pentatonix Popspring 2016 (3 original songs "Cracked", Can't sleep love", "Water" and "Evolution of Michael Jackson" live), 15 minutes long but you can find the individual recordings for each song as well (from the same concert).
For more live performances I also suggest Evolution of Rihanna and Telephone live in Singapore at the Star Vista (the same concert as Aha).

From the first time I heard this one, Avi's bass part hit me as one of the very best & finesse'd I've ever heard. Even just the syncopation he does while the trio is trading off toward the end is impressive.
I don't know how many times I listened to this before i realized that the singing members are sitting in vocal part order. Avi is on Bass (normal), but Kirstie is singing Alto, mostly below Scott's tenor part. Mitch is singing the counter-tenor / soprano part. And of course, Kevin provides the sprinkles on top with his beatboxing and accents.
I believe that this performance was live streamed.

Watch Kirstin on the last verse. She is incredible. Unless you are looking right at her you don't realize how hard her part is.
Yes! Yes! Yes! Nobody Ever mentions that segment when they’re all just throwing in a word PERFECTLY in time, as if it’s only 1 person singing! It’s one of the reasons that I love this song!
Also the fact that Mitch is so nonchalant in this, as if he’s not doing anything special. (You get the impression that he’s just dialling this in, and then he’s off to do something else! Both him and Kirstin are so laidback)! 🤗

Have you done the daft punk version that was a private performance filmed by cell phone? No microphones, no mixing or layering. Just the five standing and giving everyone a reminder they dont need mixing or any studio-ness to sing. They are naturals .
You need to listen to “RUN TO YOU”, PTX
They put in TONS of practice and collaboration for every one of their songs. And no, they don't use mixers or other crap.
If you watch close Avi and Scott glance up at someone off stage and smile as if , this is going great.
Nary a finger snap is off. It's actually quite incredible to witness five individuals this in sync.

I really like how you breakdown their singing. To me, this is the best singing group (of many) on the planet. In that same vein, I would rank Kirstie Maldonado, Angelina Jordan and Morissette Amon as world-class singers, but (IMO) Haley Reinhart is the BEST female singer today !!
Check out her songs, starting with guest artist on PostModern Jukebox (one of the best bands around) featuring her singing "Creep" (by Radiohead)....guarantee it will give you chills !!!

I personally don’t know why everybody thinks the vocals for this song are hard. I know somethings are harder for others while a breeze for some, but like i said, it’s not that hard but it is fun

You are one of my favourite 'Reactors' love that you acknowledge all members....The trio are brilliant & Kirsty shows her best when she joins in near the end....but for me my ear is tuned into Avi's bass &Kevin he are magicians, we are bopping our heads or tapping our feet to their wonderful rhythm section. Have you done Megan Trainors 'No' it's a live session and Kevin & Avi are sitting in front having a ball. Love, love, love this cover. One of the many songs that I prefer the PTX version to the original. Since you like the raw/non-produced or live versions many will point you to their “Evolution of..” medleys and they’re awesome. But also put their cover of No (Meghan Trainor) on your list. It’s just the 5 of them around a couple of mics- it’s excellent and so much fun. Mitch is super sassy and Avi & Kevin are having a blast. Highly recommend. Thanks for responding to my comment. All I can say in regards to your list of people who aren’t always in tune but that you like, because of their passion, is that, not surprisingly, I’m not a fan of any of those ‘singers’. They don’t resonate with me, at all, and I don’t find them passionate, in the least. Unless one equates their ‘passion’ with screaming or shrieking. Bob Dylan, for example, may appeal to you but aside from his lyrics, I cannot tolerate his voice. To me, he’s always sounds like he’s phoning it in. I certainly have never thought he was passionate; I thought he was a lazy, sloppy singer (though, in truth, I’ve never thought of him as a ‘singer’ since he’s never produced the dynamics, diction and pitch necessary to being a singer). What is the point and where is the passion when a singer doesn’t even have the energy to sing in tune or pronounce their lyrics with some semblance of diction? Specially in the case of Bob Dylan, who is famous - known as a troubadour who writes the majority of his songs to supposedly say something challenging and pithy to our society. What does he think he’s communicating when not one word he sings can be understood? Aside from the fact that we obviously have different taste in music, as a pro singer myself, I value the lyrics that I write. I choose each word on purpose and with care. So if people can’t understand the words that I’ve written because of my laziness in pronunciation, I feel like I’ve failed my listeners. I know that we all have diverse tastes - clearly, you and I have differing tastes in music - as well as in how we define ‘passion’, but since before Bach and Beethoven, certain characteristics have always gone hand in hand with excellence in music: melody, rhythm, and lyrics. And the foundation underneath includes the key, the tonal center and the pitch of the instruments. Without these things, these things done with precision (some would say, passion and personal investment), it may be some kind of art, but, to me, it’s not music.
