Knotweed also spreads by beaver cutting it down and dragging it in to the river. I have seen creeks with dams made of knotweed. One stem gets stuck on a rock, more stems pile up on top of it forming a natural dam and the knotweed was happily growing in the middle of the creek. In my opinion, Beaver activity and high water events are the most common way knotweed spreads.

It is kept in check in Japan as it has around 200 bugs that will eat it, infect it, etc, there are exactly 0 here

At least one insect in the NE US that eats it. I've witnesse the damage dozens of times on knotweed leaves but never saw the insect itself.

In the US we have a product called RM 43.
I have been using it for about two weeks, and the results are amazing.

Hi Adam, did you use RM 43 for the Japanese Knotweed? How did you apply it? I'm trying to eradicate with Roundup (glyophosphate) . Thanks!

Hi @@BOOBYFACEMAN. Did you manage to eradicate it with Roundup and did you apply it to the leaves or inject it in the stem?
      Much thanks

@@ashmahmood851 Hey Ash, The eradication with round up seemed to work for a season. But it did not. I tried spraying the leaves which killed the plant but not the roots, I have the knotweed injector which is better but still has issues. Once you get it into the plant its tough to get the poison into the root without it spraying back at you. This year I'm going to just mow over them, until fall. Then I will use the GreenShootsOnline spray. It has a much higher concentration of the Glyophosphate than roundup, and its a foam that sits on top of the cut stem. If that doesnt work I'm going to try and dig up as much of the root system as possible, torch the whole fucking yard with napalm, bring in tons of fresh rock, cover it with concrete, then more dirt, then grass. :)
      Good luck

Lemme save you 40 minutes. Knotweed is knot a problem. All you gotta do is get some garden variety scissors, cut it into manageable portions and roll it into an expansion joint.
I won't lie, the only unmanageable thing about knotweed is how high it gets you when you smoke it down. It's the highest I've ever been, my mind snapped like a carrot. You know it's pure when you see those orange flecks.
Just seconds after smoking a knotweed blunt I was flying high man, I started licking walls and eating dog food. When I came to I'd blown a load in my pants and had to throw out my boxers. Put me in a state of vegetative regeneration for a week. It was well worth the sacrifice.
