In my experience my fake friends were always the ones who worked to darn hard to be particular on being ‘nice’ when really all they cared about was having the leg up in the dumb social pyramid in school then would ‘nicely’ stop hanging out with me because they realized I wasn’t popular enough for them and they could try to shoot their shot higher.
