You forgot to stop by any car that has flashers on the side of the road offering to help even if you have no mechanical knowledge.
RettigJ 😂😂😂😂this guy^
Omg yes totally
@Our Family yesss! I forgot the double blinkers that are used to indicate that your going straight
RettigJ Use the hazards
@LinusFoamTips what is a fellow linuser doing here?
"You said cheese curds?"
"Yeah I don't think we said that but that's a good suggestion"
this is art
yes
If you’ve ever been to Culver’s you know it is a good suggestion
Yo I was 3k … two years later lol
"Gotta wave quicker or he'll think you're from Chicago" HAHAHA
That's so true!
Ben Kraft yaaaaaaaassssssss
I think that one was my favorite 😂
Ben Kraft as a Chicagoan, I can confirm.
So true!
You betcha
"Just cause we're here first doesn't mean you need to go first"
Irrelevant N/A I felt that in my heart
I can hear my mother saying, Everybody deserves a turn 🙄😂
It's funny because it's so dangerous.
Later on today I'm reporting someone for doing just that.
Hahaha sooo true
That frustrates me so much when people do that! Just somebody mooooove!!!
You forgot the look. When you pass someone you have to look over and see who you are passing. Very important. We call Culvers the Wisconsin Embassy when in other states.
Exactly, or else you may pass a friend of yours and not know it which would be rude.
Rampaging Squirrel I moved to Florida. There is only one I know of in the entire state and it has become my safe haven...
HOnestly!! 😂😂😂
Wait other people don’t look to see who theyre passing?
We have a Wisconsin Embassy here in our fine town of Grand Rapids. Delicious frozen custard.
Bob and Pam are the best. Everyone knows Bob and Pam.
Oh sure dey are. Till Bob gets a couple three Old Fashions in him.
@@YourOldPalFernbark we don't speak of the church pie fundraiser incident, Bob apologized. We all know it was a reaction to da Packers losing and his blood pressure medication.
You betcha
And Pam makes da best strawberry rhubarb pies for da church potluck. Gotta get 'er recipe one of dese days.
@@probablyaparent honestly I was raised to hate de packers cus I'm from iowar, but I don't think der that bad
“I lit a candle at church so the construction would go away but I guess I gotta light another”
Accurate
The construction will never leave
In Minnesota we call summer “road construction season” sometimes lol
@@Sweetnessinatube Everyone in the midwest knows there are only two seasons--Winter and Construction.
@@Yepmyaccount I didn’t know this was the rest of the Midwest too.
@@nicholasavasthi9879yep and it’s real crazy here in Peoria Illinois and surrounding areas in Peoria it seems like there’s construction on every corner during construction season
"Ope, cows." **rolls down window** Hey cows! Moooooooo!"
We go moooo, hey ladies - Illinois
also BABY COW
No way you watched the video too?
I have mooed a cow.😆
Yep that's what I do too.
“The sign says it might be icy”
“...it’s summer”
“Yeah you never know”
This is beyond accurate. I’ve hit black ice in mid April in Ohio.
Accurate. It will be clear no snow in Decemeber but a blizzard in late March
April is still winter in the Michigan keweenaw.
About to years ago I was playing in a lacrosse tournament in Michigan and it was snowing. It was May.
@@conorsullivan9843 I've never been in a snowy one, I usually play all my tournaments in Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. That may be because I usually only have real tournaments from June to October and then a bunch of gimmicks in May.
February in Missouri is basically a blizzard.
NO. You stop at EVERY Culver's. They all have different flavors of the day.
Wait how did I not know this
I would be stopping at 3 different locations 😂 we have 3 Culver’s where I live but it’s big area too
Cool!
Half of this is mid west in the other half is just pure Wisconsin
Janine Yope that is because Wisconsin IS the Midwest.
@@Pyreleaf yes but most midwest stereotypes come from Wisconsin. Some this is only in Wisconsin.
Madas no, you don't get it. Wisconsin IS the Midwest - all other contenders are pale imitations. Except the Upper Peninsula - they're honorary Sconnies.
Yeah Wisconsin is part of the Midwest but it’s not all of it
If anyone is the middwest it's missouri. We have a a literal portal to the Midwest.
I took my driving lessons in Manitowoc. This is accurate. Favorite part was driving on I-43 and the instructor says "step on it! It's ok, I know the cops around here." As we are doing 80mph in a 65mph zone lol
I'm from Northern Michigan. My driving portion of the Drivers Ed. trainings was basically driving my instructor (who was also my wrestling coach, wood shop teacher and buddy's dad) to all of his favorite spots to see if any deer had been in.
🤣
N MI too. That is spot on.
That's the most Michigan thing I have ever heard!
“Jeeze louise you have to do that quicker or they’ll think you’re from Chicago” honestly the way I was taught to drive in the city was fast and ignorant
Lane Faltin that’s why I fucking hate cities. Driving in DC was like a war zone. But half of it was because of phones
@@jacobweber7078 dc native here, the traffic is so bad here you gotta learn to drive agressive if you wanna get anywhere. but now since Im so used to this going anywhere else in the country is just slow and boring
In large cities it's best to drive with tunnel vision. It's less traveling, and more of mobile combat.
Lmfao as a Chicago citizen I’m offended
Slow and conscientious driving just makes you that much more likely to get murdered in Chicago.
Grew up in such a small town, Bayfield, that we knew each other by the car we drove. Of course when someone bought a new car or was borrowing someone elses, that would mess you up. Of course you have to wave to everyone! You have to ask permission to change lanes because if you don't they will speed up thinking you want to race. We gave our potholes names. Great vid once again der guy!
Then there's the Farmer Finger..you keep your hand on the wheel and raise your index finger. Gotta do it that way on the old tractor or you lose control ya know.
Apple Festival makes parking hard in Bayfield.....
Apple Fest!!!!!! Best brats ever!!!!
lol I don’t ask permission I just turn my turn my turn signal on check to make sure the other vehicle isn’t in my blind spot if they aren’t I just get into the lane that I’m needing to get in and I pick up speed as I’m merging
Wisconsin accents for a Midwest video. I’m a Hoosier and I still approve as I do all these things while driving.
Marco Evens as a fellow Hoosier I agree!
Marco Evens this is an upper Peninsula accent
Indiana pride! If anyone is thinking about moving to Indiana, let me know, I'll help ya move.
All of us midwesterners need to do our best to emulate the Upper Midwesterners. They are the exemplars of our people
I can attest since I'm a Hoosier as well lol
You should do a sketch where multiple midwestern people stop at a 4 way stop and no one wants to go and they all keep trying to wave the other person on
That is scary accurate lol
YES
Portlandia did that. It's great.
Why do you think they've put so many round'abouts in? It's the only way to keep em movin'.
See LA Story with Steve Martin for what happens in that situation.
"you gotta do that faster, they'll think you're from Chicago" 😂😂😂
I was like I live in the Midwest, but I can't relate... then I realized I am from Chicago.
Love how he called the glasses holder a “brat holder”
THANK YOU I came to the comments to understand this one, I wasn't catchin it.
You call it a glasses holder? Where do you put your brat then?
“We don’t have walleye right now, bur we will during lent”
To this day i still have no idea if that was scripted because cripes, it is so freaking true!
"Deeper den da bottom of a brandy old fashioned on a friday night." I'M DEAD.
a bottomless brandy old fashioned!
Growing up in Wausau, my high school math teacher had that accent and would say "tree forts" instead of three fourths. That's probably the reason he taught math and not English.
Rusty Shackleford big lol
I'm from Wisconsin, and so I can pronounce that (Wausau) without even thinking about it.
I was surprised when I started to notice this was Wausau lol
You should do "things dads say in Wisconsin"
solid idea !
@@CharlieBerens Holy Cripes! The man the myth the legend liked my comment! #shoutouttowalworthcountywi
@Table-Country pinxing THRYM Firearms 27 thats a damn fact! rubber-neckers, fibs, and old people equals the slowest drivers in WI
Table-Country pinxing THRYM Firearms 27 I love southern IL!! My dad built a powerhouse down there. It’s beautiful country.
"permission to put the cheese curds in your brat holder" is the best thing i've heard all day
"Just because you were here first, doesn't mean you need to go first." As a Midwestern, can confirm that this statement everybody knows and practices daily.
Lol, this is sooo accurate....except the Stop & Go light. Lived here for 50 years and have never once heard that!
I have
55 years, and that's the first I've heard it, either. 🤔
It's a Wisconsin thing
Its purely a Wisconsin thing, prettu sure
At least midwesterners know that walleye is seasonal. I work at a Culver’s in AZ and people argue with me about when we have walleye. Same time every year folks. Lent.
Straight Razor Daddy yup 😊 We have em in Flagstaff, Prescott, and several in Phoenix. Those are just the ones I’m aware of. There’s quite a few out west but they’re not allowed to franchise in Cali for some reason
says it may be icy
it’s summer
well ya never know
if that isn’t the most true statement of the midwest
Had to get an alignment on my truck this year cause I slid into a curb goin into a roundabout. It was sleeting a few minutes before but I figured it would be fine since it was May... I was wrong.
Never forget da "ope"!
The Culver's part and the waving are the most accurate descriptions of Midwest culture I have ever seen
As a Canadian, I do a lot of these; counting cows, waving people by at stop signs and the thank you wave.
Well the Midwest is southern hospitality mixed with Canadian politeness
As a midwesterner, I always wave a “thank you” when someone lets me cut in. One of the things I dislike about NJ/NY is that people don’t do that.
Same.
“Oop! DEER!”
That’s so relatable.
They didn't stop at Kwik Trip?
Jwend392 or Casey’s?
HAHAHAHA Kwik Trip is life
Nicky Jean Yup where I get my Juul pods (:
zachevanbros they start selling alcohol at 6am
shame shame shame
My Mom and Aunt left Michigan in 1977/1979, and visits to my Grandma in the UP were sparse, but this video encapsulates my childhood vehicular experiences SO WELL. I still tell passengers they're on deer duty - not so much for danger purposes, but absolutely for counting purposes. My "Ope, sorry" for every pothole habit survived five years in the Carolinas and five years in SoCal, somehow?
"Ope deer!" has come out of my mouth more times than I can count
I call out pheasants too. I'm not sure if I say "Ope" or not. I'll have to make sure I do next time.
I'm from MI, but I only call em stop lights. But deer are always worth a mention, and don't forget to count the points if there's a buck
Wausau Wisconsin represent !!!
I see's ya dere. Good job driving dere guy.
Just spent a week in da yoopee. Four way stop 🛑 . Every time was EXACTLY like that. Also ops deer. And you always check for the second deer cause there’s always two. 😊👍🍁
Y'all Midwesterners and us southerners aint to much different after all
I'm from Alabama and Wisconsin is one of my favorite places, I love the people.
You don't ever pass three Culvers. Cripes does this one right true with the car club. A member who has gained a reputation as a Culvers custard hound, turned 80 a little while ago, so we worked together to get him 80 Culvers gift cards for his birthday.
Missourian in exile in Iowa here. I'm glad I'm not the only one waving everybody else through at the four way.
"We do not drive past 3 Culver's" lmao if that ain't the most accurate thing I've ever heard. Damn, now I really want Culver's
"Cows. Count 'em"
I'm not from the Midwest so I didn't get a lot of this video but that one was good.
Purple Fire 28 bless your heart
as the owner of Midwest Driving School in Lafayette, IN i absolutely died laughing at these videos you made of the driving school! Good humor always contains elements of truth (especially about the Chicago drivers) LOL :) Hope you don't mind but i copied the weblinks for my blog post on my website!!
I love it! But, where was the roundabout? :-D
When approaching a Culver’s, slow down so you can see what the flavor of the day is.
The "ope" is the most accurate thing I have heard ever since "cheese Louise".
Ya know you were driving in WI because of the car bouncing around and the camera vibrating.
*potholes*
That pretty much every road in southern Illinois
Caryn Schwengel try driving in Oklahoma instead of the camera just vibrating it bounces of the windshield and out the window
In California the camera is the least of your problems. The tires are just gonna pop off from all the stress and create yet another traffic jam.
Ebin Ecks Dee Thats pretty much every road in everywhere New Orleans
I never expected something this accurate 😂. And the turkey part was absolutely spot on by the way
The waving is with one finger in Nebraska. What about you
Tyler Sudeta Two fingers with the right hand where I’m from.
As an Ohioan I keep forgetting that Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota are part of "The Midwest"
Grindstone I sometimes why as an Ohioan that we’re even part of the Midwest. We more like Mideast.
Storm it’s like a mix there are Ohioans that are nice and midwestern or Ohioans that are more eastern and more assholes.
As a Michigander, fuck Ohio
As a North Carolinian, I think we should just give Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota to Canada.
As a Minnesotan I forget Ohio is part of the Midwest
I grew up in Indiana and glad the feeling on Illinois unites the Midwest. 😆😆😆
You never pass 3 Culver’s with out getting something same thing with Portillos
I'm actually dead. This whole channel is *SO ACCURATE*
The turkey part was my favorite. It's always fun whenever it's almost turkey season and you're scouting out all the land near you and your buddies
That construction bit was hilarious, and so true! The construction is happening all year round and it seems to never stop.
“Cows. One, two, tree, four, five, six” 😂 😂 😂 My relatives live in Wisconsin and I in Georgia. Love when I go up to visit, taking my “Southern” dialect there. My husband was looking forward to listening to the band that was to play at the tavern, didn’t know it was a Polka band. 😂🤣 Culver’s? We finally got one!
"Permission to put the curds in the brat holder?"
Omfg 😂
What’s s brat holder?
@@ltcajh it's where ya put yer bratwurst
“Ope” and waving people at stops is very relatable
So, ive lived in the Midwest my whole life and ive never heard of a stop and go light. In Indiana we call them stop lights.
You also call pops “soda” or “cokes”
@@RettigJ I'm from Wisconsin. It's soda and I've always said stop lights
@@jamespfitz me?
Michigan. Stop lights and pop.
That's why we *drink* Faygo. 😆
It might be more a Wisconsin thing. Just like Cheese Curds and Bubbler
Ope....So that particular culvers was my very first job at 16. Started when they first opened the doors. Thank you for making us Wisconsinites proud!
this is a masterpiece omg
I wondered why I can’t relate, guess it’s being from Chicago region.
As an iowan... all exept the stop and go light thing were accurate
Lenny Croles as a fellow Iowan, same
I'm from Iowa, and just moved to Baltimore MD. My coworkers been commenting on my driving style, I showed them this video, and it all makes sense to them now.
I’m so not used to people picking up their hands to wave I guess I’m just used to farmer one finger waves
Two finger in TX. Don’t want to get mistaken for the middle finger since you could get shot!
10/10 for accuracy
0:40 Sometimes when he talks it reminds of when Chris Farley would do a Midwestern accent. "I'm Matt Foley, motivational speaker." Hahah
Damnit, never realized how much I have said, "ope" in my life until after I watched these videos.
Beginer comment to a new driver, " If there was a car there you would have hit it." When you do the advanced school video make sure to include the subtle "index finger lift wave".
AKA the Farmer Finger
I just discovered this channel. Love it!
I recently got a car from my grandpa. Packer green!! Go pack!
heck yes!
I lived in Minnesota for a decade; pretty accurate. I did, however, really love it there.
The 5 dislikes are from fibs
FIBs LOL . so annoying
I'm from a completely different part of the country but I love these videos
I love how this is basically the opposite if california bay are driving
I’m 13 years old and this is the most reliable video I’ve ever seen
I think it's Wausau. Isn't that Grant Elementary?
Yep, the Culver’s on Bridge St
oh jeez, hometown represent
I went to DC Everest till 9th grade lol
Haha it's definitely Wausau! Represent! I went to Everest as well!
That wasn't Grant, that was old East High
Dang, this is right on. The only thing he missed is on the highway how we camp out in the left lane whether they are passing err no.
It terrifies me that the waving thing is true where I live in Wisconsin
Spent most of my life in the DC area, home of the award for "Most Temporary License Tags Every Time It Rains." Moved to the Midwest about fourteen years ago. Still not used to four way stops because in DC those are called four way accidents.
From Illinois and the “COWS!” “COWS!” Made me lose it
That Wisconsin and Minnesota accent is coming through STRONG.
“Can you wave to them please”
Lmaoooo
I was sitting on the front porch of my boy friend’s family in central Wisconsin many times in the past. As cars drove by on the county road I was told that the people would think i was unfriendly if i didnt wave at them. And always, as I left their house in the evening, I was told to watch out for the deer. Ya, its real.
My bf laughs whenever I say 'directional', as in 'turn signal'. I'm from WI and he's from Louisiana.
I’m from Cleveland which is technically midwest, and I have family in Minnesota. And this hit so hard I can’t even tell ya.
In a strange way this was really accurate.
This is exactly how my dad taught me to drive. So great!😂
This is very true
Just discovered this awesome comedian! Loving the videos, sending them along to my family in Two Rivers.
I was born in SD. Doesn’t anybody say, “eh?” there?
The Army Reserve once sent me to WI. My young daughter asked, “Is Miss Makonsin a mean lady?”
Eh is Canadian. We say ope in Wisconsin
Kiara Black We said, “Eh” a lot in SD.
Minnesota we say “ope” and “eh”. That’s a cute story about ur daughter lol
I’m from Atlanta. I’m learning so much in these videos. Thanks!
Honestly not much different from southern driving haha and we stop at any Culver's since they're so rare here 🤣
God I love my little Wisconsin town.
This was my expectation when moving to the Mid-West. The reality was that people here don't consistently stop at pedestrian crosswalks or let others merge onto the highway. Even in more rural areas, people drive like it's a major city.
When I was in drivers ed, I got the old pro. No bull, take no guff, guy was all business. My friend got his son, who kept making them stop at different places so he could do his errands, lol.
On behalf on all he midwesterners I’d like to say gee thanks we love the videos!
Coming from a Minnesotan, wavin someone to go in a car while holding a Culver's milkshake might b the most Midwestern thing ive ever seen. Maybe just add a Casey's pizza in the shotgun seat
