Carats & Cake gets an exclusive tour of Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards, a winery wedding venue in Charlottesville, Virginia, with veteran event leaders Lynn Easton and Dean Porter Andrews. Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the culinary vineyard opened its doors 12 years ago. Over the past decade, Pippin Hill has established itself as a premier vineyard wedding venue with a farm-to-table culinary experience to boot. The property boasts two stunning wedding ceremony sites: one for smaller weddings on the Main Lawn, and one for larger celebrations on the Vineyard Lawn. The expansive veranda serves as a back-up plan in case of inclement weather. Wedding guests and vineyard visitors alike are greeted by a lush curved hydrangea path that leads to the outdoor lawns and rustic Granary. For those looking to plan a winery wedding on the property, Pippin Hill offers a bespoke package which includes tablecloths, china, plateware, and cutlery - all you need to do is bring in a wedding florist. Inside the Granary, floral designers will find chandeliers which were built with intention to allow for seamless floral installation. On the second floor of the Granary is the getting-ready loft, a serene space with expansive windows that provide couples with the perfect view of their guests entering through the hydrangea path. On the opposite side of the room, sliding doors open to reveal a bird’s-eye view of the granary, allowing couples to watch their wedding reception design come to life. Pippin Hill events are also hosted in the greenhouse and tasting room. The property includes an on-site chicken coop, and the staff raises bees to make their own honey, and has cultivated a garden with delicious fresh produce. Every dish served in the tasting room and at Pippin Hill weddings is garden-to-table.
