  • Take a peek into the most restricted wildlife habitat in the UK. Our range hosts a valley of 35 billion ants and a species of bird that was once on the brink of extinction.
It is the country’s most restricted wildlife habitat, and home to diverse ecology including a valley of ants. The range was bought by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) in 1916 and is now managed by the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl).
The nature of the organisation’s work has meant few get to enter the area and glimpse the unique biodiversity within. It has escaped the ravages of post-war agricultural challenges which changed the landscape of the British countryside.

That's a lot of wow, thanks for putting this video together, and sharing it, and way to go to everyone involved in monitoring and keeping the area safe and secure to help keep that diversity alive but also helping create an environment where this amazing knowledge can continue to be gained, and again wow in having a real life visual of, as mentioned in the video "a time capsule", esp. that field of ant hills. : )

And at the same time they are doing horrific experiments to animals like shooting them in the eye and exposing them to nerve agents. Hypocrites

It would be so lovely if ‘Joe public’ could be able to see this area.
But that’d be like Shrodinger’s Paradox.
Let the public in to observe and it’s changed forever
