Wow just discovered this channel and am excited to see what you've done. Are these your own designs? Is this a business it a hobby? Super impressed and looking forward to seeing what you post. I think a lot of people would agree with me on that!
Question for you Hank! Do you have separate tanks for high pressure to force the water out of the ballasts? After you vent I’m confused on how you’re sub re-surfaces. Thanks in advance.
What kind of steel did you use for this sub? Or is this fiberglass? 1000ft is pretty epic for a Civilian Submarine. Even the professional Euronaut submarine can't dive that deep and she's built by career Naval architects.
Hello I noticed on one of your test videos your cabin pressure was a little high you should be careful on pressures on your body in the sub could be like diving 300 feet by having too much pressure and could possibly cause a aneurysm and die
I wonder... could you make a kit build submarine and sell it? I wanna explore the ocean but I don't have 80K to spend to get to 5000ft... and you seem to be on the cutting edge of this technology (At least in the recreational sense.) 5000ft is kinda bare minimum of what I need to explore where I wanna explore, possibly why recreational submarines aren't viable? Else I guess I would need to make my own... but this seems to be a thing, more and more.
@@HankPronk Yeah guess I'll need to build my own... appreciate the help with the videos. I really wanna get down to 8000ft if I can... but 5000ft is just enough to explore the top part of what I wanna explore.
I know from King of the Hill that his name is pronounced [heŋk] but surely I’m not the only one who finds himself pronouncing it [hɑŋk prɑŋk]. Like a double blast from an air horn.
Dayuum! Thats intense watching her go down!
Yes it was.
How great it was to see this sub in the water and successfully diving and returning:) Most eager for next week's dive video and testing of thrusters.
Thank's I am looking forward to my dive this week.
A gopro inside would have been niiice
I was thinking that.
My guess is that it would be pitch black
gopro are kind of expensive. There are a lot of cheaper cameras, use old cell phones.
I know, I wish I did
@@TalesofaRedneck yes its totally black, so a lite would have to be on
Thats absolutely insane! Amazing job!
You are living the dream 👍🏼 congratulations 🎉
thank you
Congrats! Please keep posting regular updates. Good luck!
Thank you, we will be posting lots
Love the drone shots
I will tell Anthony
Nice job on the sub. It would be cool to have a camera in side the sub on the next test dive. Thanks for sharing.👍
Agreed
Thank you a lot for sharing this nice experience! Very didactic.
thanks

Hi, yes I design my submarines. This is just a hobby and I donate submarine time to science groups.
@@HankPronk Fantastic! How did you find yourself in that position? Doesn't seem like your typical hobbyist.
I saw the video like on Facebook Home Machine Shop. Glad you posted there. Subscribed and looking forward to more vids!
Great thank you

I have a large high pressure air tank to force water out of the ballast tanks, that causes the sub to surface.
straight from the fb group, subscribed, this is way too cool
this is nuts!!!!!! holy moly! you inspire me to make my own
Dude, this is cool af
thanks
Hi Hank on this Sub what is your pressure hull thickness and what steel did you use on this fantastic sub .
The sphere is 1 inch thick 516-70 pressure vessel steel. I had the sphere custom bent and welded it together in two halves.

Most underrated channel in the universe
This is super cool, but I wish you'd strapped a camera & lights to the sub so we could see some deep lake video.
Agreed
great fun looks awesome :)
Thanks
Awesome work Hank!!!
Awesome! Liked & subscribed.

There is never more than a 1 psi increase.
What fuel does this sub run on? And how do submarines create air?
The sub is electric. I take the CO2 out of the air and add O2. The oar is breathed over and over
Love the video Hank….😉
Ooooh wish you had placed a camera inside to see how id performed or made any sounds. Oh well you can always test it again.
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe he tries doing it next time.
Awesome!
Do Crescent Lake in Wa
you should put it in the ocean next. just be careful ☺️
We jus dove to 335 feet in Kootenay lake with in it.

The sub is rated for 3,000 feet operating depth. I do this for fun only.

1,000 FT !?!? Thats pretty serious.
How rich r u guys?
Not rich, working man
Too bad you didn't put a gopro into the porthole so that we could have watched the dive and the surface from inside the sub.

hank pronk is definitely the hank hill of western canada, though from what I've seen in the comments, his boy ain't a bobbeh.
no "lights-on, camera rolling" in the sub?
I guess black water is black water... ha ha
