Do you think Leylah should focus more on her singles than playing doubles. She has huge opponents ahead and its gonna be a tiring match for sure. Love to see her playing with the big hitter Annet Kontaviet.
She's still young and has very high endurance. Plus, it'll help her at the net. Leyla's style is not to blow her opponents out of the water by sheer power; instead, she's a tactician who has an uncanny ability to hit the ball really early. If she can develop her tennis IQ even more, she has every chance to be #1.
I think leylah is just happy to be on the court , playing , learning and having fun and playing for the fans. Her fan base is growing sadly her haters are as well , her tenacity is amazing , emma is out leylah is moving on and if she loses she just smiles and does not worry about endorsements she just looks to the next.
@Young Young Look at ash Barty's height , she can work on her serve , her serve was her downfall at the US OPEN watch the 3rd set and watch her first serves. Barty came out of nowhere and who is #1 , Leylah's teacher said she could never make it in tennis look at her now , us open finalist back to back Championships at Monterrey
@Young Young I agree with you her serve needs more work, and it has improved since the US Open. During her last match against Shelby Rogers, she served 6 or 7 aces with speeds averaging 105 mph. Also, there have been women as tall as her who became no.1; Hingis and Henin come to mind, and both played during the Williams sisters era. More than just technique, I also believe Leyla has that x-factor -- an indomitable spirit -- when she plays.
yay ty for posting these! -a fellow pinoy
LF becoming a tour crowd favorite.
She is very talented and very cute.
This new pairing of Cornet/Fernandez is really playing exciting tennis. They compliment each other very well with both their games and personality.

@Young Young I think Leylah has a better mental attitude, and is not as injury-prone as Emma.
Leyla needs to focus just on singles, she's visibly tired in her game with Badosa tonight, similarly in last years Indian wells as well
