Hello everyone, we hope you all enjoy today's video about this popular cake in a can vending machine! Do you think it's worth it? Let us know in the comments below and have a great day!
I honestly don't think it's worth it. I know it's a Japanese style to do the heavy whipped cream and strawberries on sponge cake, but that one looks a bit excessive. The little bagged cakes might have been overbeaten, that will definitely give you firm, chewy, cake. Perhaps they're supposed to be warmed in the microwave? That would definitely soften them. I do that with store bought brownies and cookies to get them warm and chewy, and to get any chocolate chips melted. I've seen one brand of can pan, which are generally sweet breads in cans, that are almost cake sweet. Not the ones that have the panda face on them because, while cute, the cake doesn't taste anywhere near as good. For the life of me I can't remember who I saw review it. It seems like Western desserts from stores, not homemade, are something that the Japanese aren't super good at. I've seen videos of stuff in sunny (hot), unrefrigerated, bakery cases, full of flies, and y'all tried the cat donuts which were dry and underwhelming. It's like the preservation of the desserts optimal state before selling and eating isn't considered much. I think it's not traditional to refrigerate anything but perishable ingredients. Here, in the USA, we tend to cook extra meal portions to refrigerate and reheat later, but that's just not the way they do things.
Been really enjoying these! I love being able to explore through you guys! (I have an autoimmune disease that makes travel difficult due to pain/fear of getting sick.)
Amazing video cool, Japan has lots of interesting and unique vending machines they certainly got everything you can think of in vending machines . Lots of love and blessings
That cake was NUTS ... I'll see myself out 😂 But seriously such a fun video, it's so much fun to see you guys try/eat/experience things that I might not be have the chance to do. I truly enjoy ever single Japan part 4 videos ❤❤
That vending machine looks so cool and those cakes look yummy. They don't look like they would be worth the price though. The cakes seem to be a little well, little.
Strawberry and cream sponge cake is my favorite cake, so I’d love to try that one. I hope they make ones without nuts, though. But still, it looks cool, and I wish the USA had unique, cute things like this and some of the other places you’ve shown on your channel. Thanks for sharing! I’m a little too poor and disabled to travel to Japan, but I love getting to see so much of it through your videos. 🩵
Hey crane couple it has been a while since I watched your vids. Hope you guys are doing well. I love your channel so much. You guys have gotten me through the hard times and I hope things go bright for you guys in the future. Much love
Interestingly enough, the cannelés (pronounced "can-eh-lay") were going around for a bit since they're another finicky dessert from France. The molds are usually coated with beeswax and butter to help them release. From when people cut into them, I didn't think they looked all that special. The appeal of the crunchy shell was a nice thought, but I think you lose that from this vending machine version. Apparently they're supposed to be custard-like in the middle? The ones you got were definitely bigger than what I'm used to seeing. At least it's only 500 JPY for a few as opposed to how expensive they can be. They're usually expensive to make. The molds themselves can be like 80 USD for a set of 3 copper ones or more.
Yeah that's the thing, there's SO many pastry shops in Japan and you can definitely find something tastier and cheaper at most of them, in our opinion. But the novelty is kinda neat!
I would love if you guys made a video about vegan foods you could find around Japan! I’m always curious about what foods I could eat in different places lol

It’s so impressive how they load it so beautifully in the can.
Wonder if there's a behind the scenes of how they put it all together, hmmmmm
That cake was NUTS ... I'll see myself out 😂

Cake in a can. I would try!
Definitely give it a shot, even just once!
The can cake looks so good
Japan has a lot of nice vending machines to the point it’s like which one do I stop at.
We wish we could've filmed even more vending machines!

Ooh that mini cake looked like a bran muffin 🤢. The things you guys do to keep us amused.
His hat made my day!! ❤
If we had cake vending machines in the states I would be in so much trouble

Wow, that sounds super fancy! We can see the shell part working well enough, but the cake part was just so dense and dry.... made it pretty bleh
Okay different how does it taste.. it looks good to me.. i wanted to reach out and grab it
I saw a cake vending machine in an airport, but it wasn't in a can. These ones look good but I think I would just go to a restaurant instead!

Awesome video
I would love if you guys made a video about vegan foods you could find around Japan! I’m always curious about what foods I could eat in different places lol
You guys need to try the cake claw machine. It’s at a bakery ❤

On a scale of Sprinkles to 10, exactly how dry was that cannele?

Reminds me of the strawberry creme parfaet from kfc from when I was younger.
Cake!!! 🍰
Caaaaaaakkeeeeee!!!
Do you guys live in Japan now From Scotland
Nope! We just filmed a LOT while we were in Japan :) Expect a lot more soon!
Its off puting that the can opens up like a cat food can.
Y'know, we didn't look at it that way but now that you've mentioned it we can't unsee it
I don't know that I would want strawberry shortcake if it had nuts in it.
That milk tea mini cake doesn't look good just from you holding it. And Brittani your face really let us know you didn't like it either lol.
Japan is in 2050 for real.
How do they even do this?
For future reference the canele is pronounced kah-nah-lay :)
👍🎂
Whipped Cream Cake > Milk Tea Cake.
Milk Tea cake looks like an aged brownie...not in a good way.
Mmmm ancient brownies

Who doesn't love a lil bit of cake?
The dubbing is weirdly off as I'm watching today.
The first cake sounds a bit disappointing.
Really? Sound seemed totally fine while editing. Either way, thanks for enjoying the vid!
@@TheCraneCouple it was after Brittani opened the can, the dubbing seemed off, but it could've just been my UA-cam acting up.
OwO First?
You first Ninj! Thanks for coming by so early!
The purple hair makes you very old😢
How many times are you gonna comment the same thing? lol. Repeating your comment makes you seem so old. :(
My man got alzheimer's 😥
Your comment makes you sound very boring. Always the same thing.
The education system has definitely failed you
