This hobby is so complicated when it comes to identifying genetics especially for newbies like me. I was so eager to produce a clutch that I will possibly have a dual sired clutch with males that have similar genetics. Which in return I plan on holding back majority of them until I 100% know what each snake genes are, oh well , I love my snakes, and I'll be happy to keep all of them LOL
Damn, your Bamboo combo is stunning. I'm in awe 😍
My yellow belly/lesser pastil/ enchi/ het for pied girl is sitting on her clutch of eggs she laid on Mother’s Day. Dad is as straight up mojave.
I’m so exited !
I just wanted to let you know you taught me a lot on how to breed pythons, I just wanted to give you a great big THANK YOU !
Thank you, glad I can help
Nothing but truth. Thanks!
I would add that for newbies (like me), making sure the genes you're working with are easy to identify with your other genes is important. I'm going to be working with 7 genes, initially. One of them is Fire, which makes me a bit nervous about positively identifying it. Another is Mocha, which can also be tough to spot. Fortunately, most of my other genes are typically pretty reactive with both, so that should help. I'm also not planning to get them all into one snake at any point (though the Odds Gods will probably drop Fire and Mocha into the same snake, just to watch me sweat). The biggest combo I'm aiming for initially is 2-3 genes. Nice, easy to identify combos (hopefully).
You are my all time favorite ball python breeder. I watch a couple different channels regularly and your feed is the most educational and you also address issues or views in the hobby that are on the border for alot of people. I like that you are very open about the reality of python breeding and the mishaps that are natural and do happen. I feel like your channel will help alot of new breeders who are unsure or end up with those natural mishappenings. You do a great job! 🙂💕🐍🐍
This series is definitely helpful- thanks for making it 👍 identifying genes in combat is often something I get confused about myself and not many people seem to actually give clear helpful information on this topic. 😁
That Bamboo combo is gorgeous Gavin. I love bamboo. I just picked up one for myself and I'm super excited to get him to work.
I hope you continue videos like this. Royal pythons are confusing to me bc I don't know all the genes or what I'm looking at but this really helps some one like me to appreciate animals I don't keep and maybe someday when I know what really strikes my fancy I will know what to buy. You're awesome. Keep em coming
this video comes in the right time.
I have been thinking about this matter for a while now.
I am still learning about the Pewters, Lemonblasts, Bumble Bees, etc... eh eh :)

Great information! Could you do one on how to identify Yellowbelly in a Pastel Clown?
Great advice for beginners like me! 👍🤜💪
With regards to the pictures not being correct, if it's on the genetic wizard is it safe to assume it is correct?
Trying to ID certain genes makes my head go 🤯
I usually regard yb as a ressive gene...
