i've had my skeletool for over 10 years and that bit has literally never fallen out or been in danger of falling out so don't worry about it honestly the only thing i've ever missed on it is scissors. The carabiner/bottle opener is amazing. no fiddling when you need to open a bottle, just grab, open, put it back. everything else i've tried is a hassle and a half. I've actually had my wave+ on me and i've gone and gotten my skeletool more than once when I needed a bottle opener.
Yeah, definitely not a concern anymore with several more months of carrying it under my belt (literally haha). And exactly, if they could incorporate scissors without hurting the form factor it would be perfect. Thanks for watching and commenting!! 👊🏼
I repair hot tubs and am constantly in need of pliers and a blade, nothing else. Mostly everything else requires a strap wrench or a drill. The skeletool is perfect for the minimalist who doesn’t want to carry bulk. Lots of mods too! I’ve added a hammer mod and a scalpel holder, the scalpel (no 60) really works through flex hose pretty well. Eliminates the need of sharpening blades and TSA friendly as the blades are disposable.
I love the skeletool! It has so many unique pros, for example.. It has an on-body bottle opener that you don’t have to awkwardly fold out, you have way easier access to your screwdriver arm that you don’t have to go through three steps to get to or have to break your fingernails to fold out and you can carry an extra bit on board the tool. It also just feels way more ergonomic than other multi tools when using the blade, so much so that it just feels like a normal sized pocket knife.
Awesome! Agreed, I really like how simple but also well thought out the design of it is. Also appreciate how minimal it is, it has most of the most commonly used tools without all the extras. Appreciate you watching!! 👊🏼⚔️
After years of carrying a Spirit and then flirting with the Wave and P4 and even the Arc, I’ve come around to a new philosophy. The skeletool is perfect for my back pocket, but limited so i carry a custom Vic with a scissor and file layer. This gives me all the tools i need without much weight or bulk in a single place. 7.2 oz total between them but it’s broken up in 2 tools/ 2 pockets so i barely feel either. This has lots of advantages to me with a bonus of tweezers and pen. The skeletool was stupidly tight and gritty out of the box but with cleaning and lube and adjusting the pivots and working it while watching TV, it snaps smoothly like a Vic now. Wish i hadn’t overlooked it for a decade
Sounds like the ideal setup, the Skeletool would’ve been perfect if they had added scissors but like you I’ll pair them with a Victorinox when I want scissors. Not sure why I waited so long either but I felt the same way. Appreciate you checking out the video and taking the time to comment! 👊🏼⚔️
Love the Skeletool, has exactly what I need when I'm traveling towing a travel trailer. For EDC I'll take something with more tools. Debating on picking up a Powerpint
I've got a Bond and a Rev. I just don't really need pliers that often. I carry my Huntsman SAK more often and that's been all the drivers I need. I'll probably get a Skeletool sometime to see how I like it. I've been kept away because the price to tools ratio, same with the Signal... Idk. Maybe I need to hold them. Who knows. I sure don't.
You’re welcome, I do t think I could commit to that just because I like knives so much but it has a capable blade, easy one hand deployment and nice lock up. Thanks for taking a look!
I have a Charge AL, and very rarely carry it purely because of the weight, it's superb, but it's a real boat anchor,,, I've just ordered a Skeletool CX, hopefully it will be my edc, seems to tick most of the boxes for me,, ps, it better be useful, because they're close to £100 over here in England,, 😱🤞🤞
Oh wow, well definitely hope it works out for you. I like to carry it clipped to a belt loop but that may not be ideal there since it’s a locking blade. Thanks for checking out the video!
And the prices are only going up unfortunately, I looked up my order for the Wingman yesterday and I had paid $30.49 in 2015 and it’s $70 now 😭 And nice, hope you enjoy it!
Thanks! I think the Style PS might be my next pickup as I’d definitely trade the blade for scissors on here and it’s also much lighter. Thanks for checking it out!
I don’t think I have any Gerber knives but these little multi tools aren’t too bad, especially for 20 bucks (less when I bought it but think they are a couple dollars more now).

I carry a supertool 300 for work everyday. I've used Leatherman tools for years. The skeletool is one I've always considered. Great video 👍
Nice, I don’t have a super tool yet but definitely seems like a robust tool set. Need to get one eventually. Thanks for taking a look!

Nice, I just ordered the Powerpint also, it looks like it’s going to be a really nice option. Thanks for checking it out!
Powerpint is good. Got one for me and one for a friend. Leatherman ratchet is compatible with powerpint too
Good tip, thanks!!
what a collection of leathermans! def like the carabiner on the skeletool.
Thanks! I didn’t realize how much I needed a carabiner on my multitool.
I have a Leatherman Rebar and Gerber MP600. Just ordered a black and tan Skeletool. Hope I like it
Awesome, hope you love the Skeletool when it arrives!

Yeah, exactly. I’m the same way with the Signal. Maybe next years REI refund 😂
Thanks for the review. I've been thinking about replacing my edc knife with one.

Nice dude! I was just looking at grabbing a Leatherman! They are so helpful! And made in USA!
Thanks! Can’t go wrong with a Leatherman. And definitely a plus that they are American made!
@@UncommonEDC 100%! I will have to get one and unbox it on my channel!
i have that same skeletool model. it’s one of my faves
Nice! Thanks for checking out the video!

I felt the same way about the skeletool. I’m sure it’s great, it just wasn’t super high on my list 🤷🏽♂️
Yeah, size to tool or price to tool ratio isn’t great but I do love how easy it is to carry.
I've always wanted Leatherman tools but usually out of my budget but the Skeletool is reasonably priced compared to others. Gonna grab it at REI
And the prices are only going up unfortunately, I looked up my order for the Wingman yesterday and I had paid $30.49 in 2015 and it’s $70 now 😭

@@UncommonEDC just like firearms. precious metals
@@bayshark7o7 True unfortunately :(
Nice collection. I like the Leatherman Style PS, because I already carry a knife.
Thanks! I think the Style PS might be my next pickup as I’d definitely trade the blade for scissors on here and it’s also much lighter. Thanks for checking it out!
Great vid brother!
Appreciate it brotha! 👊🏼⚔️
REI is anti 2nd amendment.
I love the Skeletool got it at Costco for just about 60 with a knife
That’s unfortunate. I saw Costco had that combo though, great deal. I think that bundle is on sale for $45 now but a lot of locations sold out.
@UncommonEDC I'm pretty sure that's what I paid too.
I bought 3 for Christmas gifts.
Nice video thanks.
Stop shopping at REI 🎅
Lol I have zero.. Gerber lol
