- C-Bo, notoriously known for his relationship with law enforcement, was one of the first rappers to be jailed due to his lyrical content, a scathing critique of political officials, including governor Pete Wilson, California's Prop. 184 mandatory 25-life sentences for three strike felons, and police on his track "Deadly Game" written with rapper X-Raided in 1995.[4][5] He unsuccessfully argued for appeal three times, while gaining nationwide attention for arguably his most successful mainstream album.[6] Although some charges were dropped as it was viewed as a violation of his First Amendment rights,[7] he was arrested in California in 1998, under the suspicion that his violent rap lyrics violated his parole.[8] He rapped his court statement to the presiding judge, in Ohio, who gave C-Bo probation on the condition that he also rap in a Public Service Announcement.[9]

Had the pleasure to spend quite a bit of time with C-Bo. My good friend/producer G is his cousin. First time we met I open a show for him in Chico Ca at a spot called The Brick Works. Afterwards hung out for a few. Started doing music with another one of his cousins K-Style & The Deathwish Crew. Also had the pleasure of doing a song with Lil Bo, his Brother. RIP🙏🏽. I have a few story’s of some great nights. From going to LA and hanging out at Bosko’s house while he was recording, same weekend chilled with Bo & Yukmouth (this was around the time Thug Lords dropped) even went to Yuk’s Video shoot when he was shooting a cut from the Godzilla Album, and that same weekend was in the courtroom in LA with Bo and his Cousin when he was sentenced to a lil stretch he had to do. Believe it was the last ones he did. 1 to 3 can’t remember exactly. With them when they shot the Video for C-Bo’s F@&$in Wit It song feat E-40 off the Orca album. Same night was on stage with all them for a show in downtown Sac. I Even did some music with Marvaless. Nothing but great times, Bo a real one, & G his cousin love that MF like a brother. Wasn’t for him wouldn’t have had all these great times and memories that will forever stay with me. Keep Pushing Bo, we need another Mobfather! Lmk when you up this way.
