- Hi Gardeners. Once again out and about checking out spring inventory at one of my favorite big box stores. Roses are one of my FAVORITE flowers. 🌹 When the temperatures warm up, I know plants and flowers are being delivered to retailers. Now is the time to shop to get the best selection. You may not find the best deals…too early for that, however, you will get best selection of roses. To me, worth every penny. Happy shopping…hurry.🏃🏽♀️🏃♀️🏃

I bought two of these from Lowe’s. My Lowe’s had several of the kinds you showed, but they also had “Chicago peace” and “love and peace”. The “peace” line are floribundas that are multi colored, mostly with yellow. The Chicago peace is pink and yellow and the love and peace is red and yellow with some orange. I have already planted them both in separate containers, and they have already budded out and are off to the races! I noticed you said they didn’t have many climbers. I found a bunch of extremely cheap climbers at Walmart. They were all $9.99! I purchased four different climbers, Blaze, piñata, America, and royal America. They also had the iceberg climbing rose and a yellow climbing rose as well.
But the one they didn’t have at my Lowe’s was the Earth angel, and I can’t believe that you found it because I’ve been searching high and wide! 20 bucks is a great price, especially for how healthy those canes looked! Every place online that was advertising earth Angel wanted anywhere from 40 to 80 bucks! But I held off and I lucked out because the other day when I typed it into Google, I noticed Home Depot popped up and they have two bare root earth angels for only $24.99 w/free shipping or delivery!!! it makes me a little nervous because I would much rather pick mine out so I can get the healthiest canes, but you never know, they might show up and be super healthy and totally thrive.. that’s what I’m hoping for anyways! And I’m getting two of them so I have double the luck of making one of them thrive, lol!😂

Hello @nolagirl7082. I had no idea the “peace” series roses are floribundas. Good to know. I did find more selection of climbers at Walmart. Not sure why my Lowe’s had one climber. Perhaps the inventory is still coming in. I was so happy to find Earth Angel in the store. If I had the room I would have purchased more Earth Angel roses. There were several other roses by Melliland which are high quality roses that cost upwards of $40 plus dollars online. Yes, I agree, you want to see what you’re buying and inspect them before purchasing. We have no control over “online” ordering. I will check The Home Depot for their rose inventory. I’ve bought peace and Chicago peace multiple times and both got terrible black spot issues. I have my plants densely planted and the peace ones seem to need more air flow. Just a tip from someone who’d love to grow them but doesn’t have the space they need.
Thank you @garden-oasis! I have a pink peace rose in my yard and it’s struggling. I may need to dig up and place in a container. They are lovely and I hope I can save her. I struggle with black spot too. I think it’s due to the high humidity we get late spring through fall. I hate to use a spray but I may have no choice. Thank you for your feedback. Have a great day! 🌱
Chicago peace is such a giant flower, it is around 6" around when in full bloom. Absolutely stunning

I have 2 of those bloom-ables I have a pink and a orange and there blooming like crazy I have them in pots and they are bushes, I got them at Lowes in Vero Beach and there doing great and I planted petunias and verbena at the base of the two pots for added texture!

Hey there! Roses need six to eight hours of sunlight. Dig the whole twice the size of the rootball, then water in. Water atleast twice a week (depending on how much precipitation you receive) until well established. Fertilize when needed according to your package. You may not get a bunch of blooms this year because roses need time to get established. Next year, you will have some beautiful flowers to enjoy. Hope this helps. Thanks for your comment. 🌹

I have perume delight, fragrant cloud and rio samaba. Very happy with all. Doing very well with little maintenance. The frsgrant cloud is a stonger Perfume feom feet away the. Perfume delight. Ive had one flush of each. Rio samba. I got last year Its like 4 roses in one. But no fragrance. I will also add I'm in zone 11/13. Tropical and hot
