The flute that you heard in the second phase is called a Shakuhachi, a Japanese bamboo flute, to show where the boss came from, which was a nation inspired by Japan.
Some notes on this OST: - So this boss was originally from Inazuma, the Genshin region inspired by Japan. - The flute like and other instruments you hear were also from Japan. - The EDM hardcore vibes is because of his element “electro”, and the low notes usage was because the scene was somehow blasphemous trying to become a “god” - The chords were sometimes reminiscent and dramatic bec of his tragic past. While some parts, the evil voices responds and tries to distract his self reminiscing. -Notice that some solo of the main singer are sometimes distorted and evil sounding, and sometimes pure voice. Also bec of him trying to become a god (evil) vs letting go of his painful past (purity)

As far as i know this was the last theme yu peng chen (the original composer) made before leaving the company to pursue his own dream and make his own albom this might be a reason why this theme is so grand and epic

I'd like to see your reaction to Tartaglia Boss Theme. It might be not as grand as Scaramouche theme, but it's fun to hear (as in so much is going on) especially in the 1st phase! It's actually my personal favorite
Also if you want to, maybe you can also hear Tartaglia's character theme "Letter from Ajax" after listening to his boss theme, probably in a same video as well
Tartaglia boss theme is still my favourite weekly boss theme, I dont think anything will top it for me. I absolutely love the first phase and how the whole theme changes overall. Also the theremin(?)/whale sounds in the second phase is just * chefs kiss *
the villain that piloting this huge fu*kin robot are from region based on japanese nation. the flute sound that u heard is japanese flute instrument. i forgot the name but it seems is Sakuhachi ? and between those all latin lyric sang by the choirs there's 1 lines in japanese that have light voice. that tell us, the character past being thrown away by his own mother which is the ruler (Shogun) of that japanese region. even the mother not give him a name. this song really inspired from bohemian rhapsody a lot. and the official MV of this song there's scene that like in the bohemian rhapsody as well. actually this song kind tell his sadness and anger toward his mother and the people who betrayed him. thus he become villain. what a song man hahaha cant wait for your next reaction
Imagine playing this game every day and being able to enjoy all this insane good, amazing, beautiful and inspiring music. The music is one of the reasons why I personally love Genshin so so so much. It's just too incredible to even describe all those feelings and emotions it gives you every time.
When Genshin makes a theme, they actually mean it. I'm currently viewing all your reactions vids and I can say that from the demos, teasers then to these types of battle themes, you appreciate it now without the context and I assure you, you will appreciate it more when you know why the music is like this. There were already some spoilers mentioned in the comments section, smh. This is my personal favorite from this type of "boss battle" (the game has two types of "bosses") and these are the most awaited ones. The lore actually matches the music in this game together with their country/culture inspiration/s. If nothing else, Genshin doesnt disappoint with their music.

Boss themes from Genshin are top tier imo, you got Symphony of Boreal Wind, Caelestinum Finale Terminae, Wrath of Monoceros Caeli, Rage Beneath the Mountains, Almighty Violet Thunder, God Devouring Mania, and both phases of The All Devouring Narwhal

You really seem to enjoy the music a lot and vibing with it, and you pay really close attention to the little details while still talking about what you're thinking and feeling. Version 4.6 was recently released here, and a new boss was added there - Arlecchino. Her OST is just fine and that's why I advise you to listen to it (again, all phases). Moreover, a live performance of the second phase was released today on the official Genshin Impact channel. Unfortunately, the first phase is not there. But I advise you to watch the live performance too, and you will only be able to watch the first phase in a non-live version. P. S. I've read the comments now, and they advise to watch a live performance of Fontaine's music, I fully support it. And then you can go back to the bosses. And watch a short "The Song burning in the embers" it's also a good idea
Don't forget Honkai 3rd, songs like "Because of you" or "Moon Halo" are too beautiful to sleep on them. If you like instrumental that goes hard you should check "Classical Music Is Just Heavy Metal Before Electricity" on youtube.
Another Fatui, another favorite! Scarmouche is yet another very complex character that, again, I adore. I never had much of an opinion on him until after the Inazuma Festival and after I hit Sumeru. Learning more about him, I once again felt my heart bleed for him. It's very easy to find spoilers for his past, so I won't do it, but there is a reason his music has Japanese instruments and why the picture shows bits of electricity around him. The singer, if I remember correctly, is the composer Yu Peng Chen, though it was rumored that it was the Chinese voice actor at first. Either way, the solos perfectly encapsulate Scaramouche, and it's insane that it was sang in Latin with a Japanese phrase sprinkled in by a man from China. My tiny brain could never 🤣

About HSR music, as a musician (just my personal opinion, no offence) I don’t see anything special in that game’s music. I mean all music in the game is just a “music”(that’s because I don’t count EM as music in most cases), the only 2 tracks that are cool (not even great but just cool) are Kafka’s trailer OST and Phantylia’s battle theme. Any other song in HSR has no soul, has nothing special and is just the most common EM
Genshin music tells a lot of stuff like the stories, character background that is why its so memorable. I play Chen Yu vale album almost everyday to chill out, its so refreshing just like the region itself.

Jolts in the forest is one of my favourite OST due to the orchestra in it, it sounds amazing and is one of under rated themes in genshin
