Maybe on the heavy side if it puts you over your GVM but value for money i still think so and ive had no dramas with mine ive been travelling full time and been through tons of weather but yes test of time so far so good ill do a 6 month review 🍻
Yeh i went & hadda look at 4x4 supercenter today & checked these out & was happy with them & only $1700 now. My only concern was the screws that hold the canvas at the bottom & go all the way around. The canvas was pulled tight when the tent was set up & i just wondered how easy it would be for the canvas to pull through those screw heads in a strong wind or storm. I would’ve thought there’d be a backing strap underneath the screws to help the canvas to not be pulling on those front & down the side Phillip head screws. Bu if i buy one? I can see myself taking the front screws out & running a thin strap of aluminium 25x0.5/1mm & screw back in & add more screws as well.. Just wondering if any long term owners out there?.
Gday mate ive had mine for a little over 6 month now and ive put it through some rough weather i havnt had a single issue i use mine all the time so far ive been really happy with it its great for a single bloke i do sleep on it with my partner most of the time and i it could be a little bit wider i probably have a few people waiting for the 6 month review its coming ive been really busy hopefully in the next couple of weeks 😀
Cheers albert i use it all the time i love this thing and for the money its awesome ive never had any issues with it with leaking water into it i will be doing a 6 month review also check out me bushwakka awning video another good bit of kit 🍻
Out of the box i had water leak out off the roof on the corner maybe from manufacture as glue and silicone dried, I video for a about 5 minutes as it bubbled out , I automotive siliconed top and bottom due to my first mk1 turning into a rooftop spa and the new model having a lip around the top. My advice sika
Sorry to hear this has happened to you mate nothing worse than a faulty product i guss i got lucky with mine never had any water in mine im loving it still and have no reason to change to a different brand yet what brand did you end up going with or have you still got your mk3
@@goldcoastdronevision I only received my replacement about three weeks ago, I bought the anti condensation mat as it doesn’t have an insulated base like the mark 1, I feel a bit more confident redoing the silicone. That being said this is a much better design apart from the lip on the roof and I’m so far happy with it, spent a week in the WA outback without any issues, then came back to Perth where it was raining, opened it up to air 2 day later after the rain stopped and it was dry, so fingers crossed. Can’t knock it for the $1795 price tag at the moment, but differently worth spending $30 for the sika. I forgot to mention my mark 1 was replaced with a mark 3 through warranty .
Cheers mate great value for money mate im pretty happy with it so far and all the weather we been getting and not a drop of water inside impressive test of time next 👍
Hi, I also have one with no issues. I will be putting up video next week on light install and fan including wiring back to canopy switch board. Cheers Out There Touring
@goldcoastdronevision I picked one of these up yesterday on sale for same price, with the brackets and the 270 awning based on this recommendation and a couple of others... thanks!

Gday bud, im still loving it. It started leaking water through the seems on top, but water never got inside only ran inside the frame so i ran a bead of stickerflex hopefully that has worked i found the glue they use to seal it with is shit so if you do buy one i recommend seal it first im about to drop a 12 month review im not giving up on it yet lol for the price you cant go wrong 🍻👍
@@goldcoastdronevision thanks mate. I'm still going to buy one and perhaps use a seam sealer just to be safe. curious how much warranty are kings offering? I didn't ask when I went to the dealer
@@goldcoastdronevision oh fhark...hopefully it works! I'd still be contacting kings to mention the issues regardless if you are still under the warranty period and be sure to include your posts and emphasise how it would be nice to post that kings came through and rectified the issue...after all it's good for them...for example I want to purchase one but if there's issues with lack of or build issues ie seam sealant not applied properly...im sure they would only want to insure there won't be any issues - it helps them yeah. quick email, I would. hey and thanks for sharing, you're so appreciated mate. 🤜💥🤛
Cheers mate im sure they see my videos and i do like the challenge to make something work the only thing i recon they really could improve is the mattress its to hard not having to put a topper in would be a bonus 👌
Gday mate so far so good its only been about 4 and a half months ive used it alot even in plenty of rain and storms i stayed dry i will say you will get condensation under the underlay mat but i recon all the brands would get that to me thats no big deal i let it fully dry out after closing it up ill be doing a 6 month review 👍
Gday craig because i have a norweld canopy they have there own cross behems so i bought 3 of them maybe you can make them work on your canopy if you want to know more in depth on how mine is set up i can take some pics for you
@@goldcoastdronevision I have 3 lengths of unistrut welded to canopy going width ways, would I just need to get 2 or 3 more to go the other way and bolt tent to that?
I have 2 lengths of unistrut welded length ways on the canopy so the cross bars bolt on width ways so than the tent that has its rails running lengh ways will sit directly on top hope that helps i can send you an email with pics if you need further information
Gday mate Im pretty sure you can but also if you decide to add a mantras topper it does make it harder to close the tent not being able to tuck the sides in you need some room to get your fingers in to tuck im about to drop a 6 month review vid ill explane the pros and cons and answer all the questions that people have been asking😃
Gday Riley i couldnt tell you off hand i would have to find the build paperwork if you go on the norweld website you mite find the answer your looking for the tray i have is a deluxe tray for a toyota hilux duel cab and the canopy is a compact series
Gday mate i found after 12 months of use its become harder to close the lid because of the fabric wanting to stick out of the sides so its becoming a 2 man job even a 3 man job to poke all the fabric in as closing it so that could be the reason why your not getting a proper seal thats probably why mine hasnt had mold in it yet and i do regularly check on it i seem to get condensation under the mat after a big rain fall at the end of the day im going to look for another RTT thats easy to close on my own hope that helps 🍻
I bought my mk2 knowing that it will leak one day and go hit it with silicone it has started to leak now after 2 years so silicone it is and mabe a new rubber tube up front
Not really because while your not in the roof top tent you dont have the ladder up 6 month review coming up stay tuned pros and cons and what ive done to make it work for me so far loving it great value for the money 👌
I've been travelling since end of February absolutely 💯 happy with everything on the grand tourer m 111
Awesome bit of gear for the money ive hit fraser a few times with it now you cant go wrong mate🤙
The key words are " the test of time ". Especially if you're travelling full time. They're on the heavy side too weighing in at around 95 kg.

With mine only the awning is noisy in the wind. I pulled the awning down and no more wind noise. I then put the awning back up in the morning.
I guess that works i leave mine up if it looks like its going to rain

Does it have midge mesh
