I think you should get an axolotl, they are fantastic, great to watch and lots of education behind them to the fact they are used in science, their limbs and part of their brain and spine regenerate on their own, you can also turn them into morphs (salamanders) with the correct injections, there is so much to learn and information to know when it comes to them and their care. Also thanks for the tips on breeding, picked up my sand geckos 2 weeks ago!
Thanks for the comment, we will definitely be looking at a few different species of salamanders and good luck with your sand geckos they are a great species. 😁
That’s awesome good luck. We feed the babies the smallest mini mealworms and buffalo worms as well as micro crickets then as they get older the adults eat small crickets.
Ever since I found out about these guys I have been interested in getting some of them. But I live in Ohio and for what I noticed they are uncommon/rare here.
They are more common in Europe as it’s easier to ship them over from North Africa as most of them are wild caught. We are lucky to have bred our own captive bred babies to reduce the need for wild caught animals.
Just got 6 of these little guys last week. Thanks for showing breeding is possible.
Yay upload

We feed them every other day, the babies food goes in a small pot so it is easier for them to access all the time.

@@PredatoryExotics Yea, I would like to get some and bred them so I can reduce the wild-caught and plus to make them more common in the US.
That would be awesome! This species is very underrated!
