I've bought about 10 bottles so far over the past year of the Lagavulin 11 Guinness cask. I love it. I have yet to get the new 11. I absolutely cannot wait to get a bottle! This review made me even more excited.
I have the Guinness edition from last year that I've circled back to this week and I am really enjoying it more than before. I'm looking out for this to compare it.
Hot damn!! Just picked up the bottle, my first Offerman! I cannot wait now to crack the seal as it sounds outstanding! Stellar review you Scotch Gods! Cheers!🥃
Nice one Dummies! This is my first Offerman and based on your review I can't wait to try it. Thanks for calling out the 750ml bottle size. I just got the new Hazelburn 15yr Oloroso and it's only a 700ml 😕 Cheers!
Right on time with the review, just bought this one yesterday but haven’t open it yet. Now you made me think of buying second bottle. Thanks and cheers Dummies!
You are amazing! I love you and your content. I'm from Germany and I think there are not many viewers. So you are definitely international! Keep on with everything. "let's test iiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!"
seen this at my costco and glad to see this vid now before i buy. the way you talk about the torch makes me want to try that too. my costco has this for 75$
Still contemplating whether I’ll buy this one. Love the Lag 16 and various Distillers Editions. Liked their 10 YO that I got at an airport. Was disappointed by the Offerman Guinness Finish though (which was surprising as Guinness is my favourite beer!). Think I should bite the bullet on this one?
I have my bottle on order from last week, waiting to try it. glad you guys reviewed this one early. I did like the original 11 year Offerman Edition. haven't tried the Guinness version yet. heard mixed reviews
Enjoyed the 1st Edition of the Offerman. Actually finished it not too long ago after having it for at least a year and a half. May need to look into this one. Feel like my attention has been away from Lagavulin for a while now. Thanks, boys! Great review as always!
Sounds great... Not into water in my whisky.. I use reverse osmosis water for drinking that removes minerals ..etc... I really loved my Lagavulin D.E. a few years ago.. I can get 2 bottles of Deanston 12 for $80us no tax... You are much more into peat than I am.. I can get the 16 for $70us... I never watched the tv show Offerman was on.... That water is so funny. I grew up in KC drinking out of the hose... That rubber hose taste might alter a dram...ya think? Great for peat lovers no doubt
Personally, I was very underwhelmed by it. Of course it had its typical Lagavulin flavor profile, but it wasn't doing it for me. I felt thag it was bit muted and needed some of air. I revisited it a week later and nothing. I made it a rule of thumb to avoid celebrity-endorsed whisky. Thanks for the review, guys.
I tend to agree. I will say the Offerman edition last year was absolutely fantastic but, like you mentioned, I was underwhelmed by this year’s charred oak edition. I paid $90 while the Lagavulin 16 year is $99 so not sure that the value proposition exists and will likely buy the 16 year or go back to Ardbeg 10.
@@CJ-wq5ve I will agree with you that that last year's collad was fantastic. In my neck of the woods, Ardbeg uigeadail, Laphroaig cask strength, and laga 16 are under $100. I should have bought the Laphroaig 10 CS. Oh well. We live, we learn.
@@BubblebathBourbon sorry but distilled is the softest water possible by definition adding minerals adds hardness. Or you can add bicarbonate to add alkalinity but still by definition distilled is the most “neutral”….
Wonder if the roasted peanut is from Beam barrels… And WHEN did $85 for an 11 year old at 46% become a good deal, yikes! I got 3 bottles of the original 11yr for $55 each when they came out.... sad.
@@ScotchTestDummies it’s sad because I feel the price around me just keeps going up. Maybe 3 years ago I could easily find the Lag 16 for $85. Now the 16 is a ghost and I’m being asked to pay more for an 11. Ugg

nice, thanks David
It's a beautiful whisky. Peppery peaty smoke when had with steak, yet sweet & peanuty when had with dessert or the first cigar of the night. Cheers!
It’s very good

@@ScotchTestDummies surprised to find one today in NY. Usually around me releases are weeks after it actually is available elsewhere

Another qualtiy review guys. Keep them coming . Always make my shopping easier!! Much appreciated.
I really like this Charred Oak edition. My heart skipped a beat when I found it for $64.99. Thanks for the review. :0)

All good but some may not like the different finishing types
Ordered 3 from Total Wine this morning, looking forward to trying it.
I love all the 11s. Amazing stuff for the price.
How is this one compared to 16 year ? any of the 11 years
Tasty but not a hit for everyone. Where as the 16 never disappoints

Bart loves peated whisky so much I can feel his excitement all the way from australia 😁
Yes!
A very good episode with yummy tasteful insights..😋 Big fan of Laghavulin... thank you guys
Sounds like a winner! But holy heck Batman, are all those SMWS bottlings open?
He has quite the SMWS collection
Sounds great
yes it is
You had me at ‘Meat Tornado'.
Lol
I think this one does better with a couple of few drops of water. Ardbeg 10 is the same (better with the drops of water). They're more rounded.
We love them both in all way. 👍
Still waiting for this to appear in Alberta. I have a recommendation, If you haven't tried the Boulder Trailhead, you really need to.

Lol. But nothing better then hose water after running all over the neighborhood with your buds
I get jolly rancher candy sweetness. Drink this after something super peated and it’s straight up candy (same with longrow)
Hmmm.

To each his own! I loved the Guinness cask version, but the charred cask was even better for me. Delicious and well-done.
@@rivenbeef Totally. Perhaps I should revisit because a lot of the time the whiskey gets better over time
if you want completely neutral water liquid death is where its at. perfect for drinking between whiskey tastings.
If you want completely neutral water you can use distilled. 1.00 for a gallon….
@@Ryan-re3jf distilled water is good but its not as soft as LD

How does that rust colored water compare???😁
Aluminum cans are lined with bpa plastics bart. Glass is the best option.

$115 in Florida

Lagavulin 11 should be the Whisky to take on Ardbeg 10, and Laphroaig 10. Not the 16.
Absolutely
