Your figures were right on point for me. I'm starting as a commercial real estate underwriting analyst in Jan/2022 at the lower end of your salary bound with a higher projected compensation 15%-20% in the Baltimore area.
I have 7 years of experience in residential real estate. I have no college degree. I have a passion for real estate and specifically analyzing deals. Is it possible for me to get an analyst role through just self learning and taking courses like yours?
This is so helpful! Thank you so much for being transparent about this. Quick question, what is the difference between "Equity/Debt Placement" and "Capital Markets" roles at a brokerage shop?
Im a real estate development major who trying to see what career path I should take. You did a great job explaining and it made me realize that this major and field might not be for me. I got into this field after doing many internships and thinking that with this major I can make money and be involved in the development of cool projects. My goal was to get enough money and investment properties to fuel my passion projects but what I'm capable of doing in my job like underwriting, or building pro formas I feel like will drive me crazy just sitting on the computer. Is there any careers you suggest that are more hands on with the development that works with more comps and market analysis.
In my opinion learning the analysis part is the stepping stone for getting a job in development unless you already have a way into a company. I agree it’s pretty boring but after a few years you can move around more and have a lot of knowledge of how the developers will find and fund deals. If that’s too boring there’s always real estate sales. You will make a great living if you’re willing to put the work in and deal with clients everyday but it’s also takes time to make money in sales.
This sounds like something I would love to do… I’m a super geek on the markets and have been a loan officer for years. What other experience do I need?
Great vid. Would be awesome if you could make a video about what goal setting in the first 1-3 years of your career. As a first year analyst with no one else on my team being my age, it would be helpful to know what kinds of skills/milestones I should aim to build/achieve.
I have the same questions as well. I have learned a lot in my first year, but don't have a clear growth path. My goal is to create a personal development before my next review at the end of March.
Hey Justin, I’ve been watching a lot of your videos lately and am looking to start your course.. I’ve been a real estate agent in FL for the last 5 years, I got my brokers license during quarantine and have been operating as an associate broker with my firm ever since. I’ve realized I really enjoy the research and analysis side of real estate and want to pursue a career in this area, however I essentially went right into real estate after high school and don’t have a college degree.. Do you think my experience in real estate and being able to display basic analysis & excel skills can land me a job or will I need to start classes? Thank you!
I love your videos Justin! I’m a rising CRE investment analyst myself, and I always find your videos super informative. I was wondering if you could offer any advice for undergraduate students trying to find an internship/ job (with no experience) that will develop our professional/technical skills necessary for success in the industry?
Great to hear you're enjoying the videos, Sebastian! At the risk of sounding like a salesman, in my opinion, taking courses on the Break Into CRE platform will be the most efficient/direct way to build the technical skills necessary to break into the industry. You can check out all of our courses here: breakintocre.com/courses/
@@BreakIntoCRE Thank you for your input! I’ll definitely be checking them out now! Not to be a bother, but do you think this type of coursework is feasible for students that haven’t reached their graduate program yet? I’m still a year out from graduating and don’t know whether to do my masters in Finance or Real Estate. Any suggestions would help! Thank you for your time!
Was wondering if you know how much CBRE investment management analyst gets paid? they are a real estate private equity group with around 150billion AUM
Hello sir am continuously following your videos .Am working has a Residential Appraisal analyst in back office support in India. I want to switch over my career to Real Estate Analyst Kindly Guide me Sir. I need a career growth. Basically am civil engineer. I don't have real estate or commerce degree to enter in to this sector
I came here to learn how to invest after listening to a guy on radio talk about the importance of investing and how he made $460,000 in 4 months from $160k, somehow this video has helped shed light on some things, but I'm still confused, I'm a newbie and I'm open to ideas.
Having monitored my portfolio performance which has made a jaw dropping $370k from just the past two quarters alone, I have learned why experienced traders make enormous returns from the seemingly unknown market.
Interesting. I have a lump sum doing absolutely nothing at all in my bank account, I wanna get something started with it. You seem to be doing excellent for yourself, how do you achieve this?
Do these numbers sound low or high for your market?

@@roberth3905 great feedback, Robert! Thanks for sharing and good luck in the new role!
I work in Capital Markets on a high producing team at JLL. Your figures are accurate…but bear in mind the work load is easily 50+ hours a week
Curious what you think inflation will do to these numbers… great video! Thanks Justin.
Extremely high (Europe - Italy)
You should do a video on work life balance and hours in CRE
This is great feedback. Thanks, Aang!

Great Video Justin, how about Development Analysts?
Agreed, I also want to know

Great to hear, Matt! Good luck!
What about development analyst roles? Could you provide your best estimate?
Wall Street oasis is a good resource for salary data as well

I work for a GSE in a cap mkts role (rez not cre) i make about 78 + 10% bonus.
Would've been nice if you included valuation. 3/4 of the companies you listed have valuation departments

Investing in stocks is a good idea, a good trading system would put you through many days of success.
It is possible to produce superior performance provided you do something different from the majority. However most of us tend to pay more
