I appreciate your video and the fact that it is created in 4K. I wish you would have used at least one image that had a lower original resolution (like the thumbnail implied) and I wish you would have included the original on the screen at the same time as the upscaled images. Without the original source image showing at the same time, it is almost impossible for the viewer to determine which looks best. I would also love a video on how to import custom models and if any look much better than what is included. Liked and subscribed.
Thanks for this. I actually already use Upscayl and particularly like the batch feature. TBH, with my eyesight I found it a bit difficult to distinguish the unzoomed images. Also, I tend to produce more photo-realistic images (the example you showed was a little too plasticky for me) and those based on home-made styles or traditional genres e.g Post-Impressionism, Fauvism
I am using 2x upscale for my D700 pics so 12 MP will result in 48MP and that is more than enough. I tried 4x but the results are actually less sharp. Some artefacts are showing up so I guess to much sampling when using 4x.
Another great video, as always. So, I have been using big.jpg for the past 5 months. I do POD home decor, notebooks, etc. It has worked great, although I wish there was something between 8x and 16x as printify doesnt accept the 16x PNG. I have considered Upscayl, but honestly it seemed too complicated/ too many options. This video was helpful. What do you think of big.jpg? and how does it compare to upscayl? Thanks!
To be honest, I think all upscalers are *pretty* similar - so it comes down to personal taste. And I like the idea of downloading software like Upscayl rather than using a website as the host!
Thanks for this review. I hear that we can use even custom models with Upscayl. Is there any other that could be interesting ? And is it possible to train a model for specific images ? That could be amazing.
My problem is that when I want to use the ultrasharp remacri modes etc, it only lets me go to fast real-esgran and it tells me decoding error vKWaitForFences failed 4, what can I do in that case? thank you.
I can't see any difference Is the program "fixing" anything? If so, it would be better to show an image that really **needed** improvement, not something that was fine to begin with Then we could see the changes
Thanks for testing it out for us. 👍
For a free upscaler, especially for anyone doing this as a hobby, it's fantastic!
💯 Very well said!
thank you for this i also wanted to see something like this!
Glad I could help!

I really appreciate the feedback, and you're completely right! It's not a great comparison to the original image and I think I can do better next time

Yeah 'plasticky' is a good way to describe it!
great video... i use the digital art mode of upscayl every day for my art... i'm a huge fan 💪😎
haha I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's awesome
So cool you reviewed Upscayl. ICM learning how to make which model when. Fooocus is also worth a look. But more complex.
Thanks for the feedback!!
Great work, as always! B.t.w, are you going to make an "Office Hours" review as every week? Thanks in advance 😀
Yep, every Thursday at Noon Eastern time!
As always, your reviews are errr.....amazing lol.
😂 trying my best

The 2x is definitely my go-to choice
Perfect! Exactly what i needed. Can you also do a video for the best free AI background remover?
I will look into it!
@@FutureTechPilot you're the legend of AI.

@@FutureTechPilot thanks!
Best upscale to use on iPhones/phones in general would be interesting
Okay cool thanks for the idea!
really need to know what program you use to compare pics
haha I literally just open the pictures by double clicking on them, and then cropping until I can fit them all on the screen
Thanks for this review. I hear that we can use even custom models with Upscayl. Is there any other that could be interesting ? And is it possible to train a model for specific images ? That could be amazing.
I'm actually not sure! I had not heard about custom models but I'll try to look into it

I'm sorry, I'm not sure :( please let me know if you find a solution
Great video, like always, but the program freezes my computer and I have to shut it down and restart it. Any hints on how to correct this?
:( sorry I'm not sure. Please let me know if you find any solutions
I can't see any difference

haha I guess you're right!
Thanx! Can you explain what are those Upcsayl Themes? *Settings > Upcsayl Theme*. Have you tested it yet?
which do you think will be best for noise? i shot at high iso and i am trying to recover those images. thanks!
Honestly, maybe photoshop? You'll have more control and I'm not 100% confident that Uspcayl could solve your issues
I mainly use ultrasharp, digital sometimes like for illustrations
Yeah I kinda like each model to be honest lol
❤❤❤

Why do you lie in thumbnail?
Wasn't trying to lie, I tried to visually demonstrate what the video would be about. Sorry if I didn't do a good job
