This was great! I've been in my first IT class for 10 weeks and never considered this as an option as a career. When I wanted to study more than I wanted to do anything else that was a big boost in confidence. Knowing what you want to do and loving it too, who could ask for anything else!? I completely agree, enthusiasm is a staple moving into anything new. If I hadn't been excited about it I would have quit weeks ago. So pumped for the next chapter and taking all those steps! Every one, counts.
Well Keith one more wonderful video, It happened with me like i was dropped out due to MATHS and was at home for a year so I enrolled for CCNA Routing and switching class. Bam that moment changed my life, till now I am falling in love with networking ❤️ And by the way it helped me kickstart my career ✌️
Thank you Keith for a wonderful short and precise knowledgeable video, I done my CCNA and CCNP R&S watching your and Jeremy's videos from CBTNuggets. Thank you so much, you are an awesome instructor. Would be grate if you can do a video and guide people like me those who want to get back into the industry. Thant would be a grate help.
You are a role model ,The way in which you transmit your knowledge is so motivating and full of energy that it makes you want to continue learning and learning !!!
Thanks to you i fell in love with VMware... got me going even when i was giving up when i couldnt focus, your methods and advice's have helped me greatly to Keep Learning & Practice if you wanna succeed
Hello keith, another great tip from you, I do have a habit of explaining newly studied things to friends and peers it truly helps me to remember it. Great video ✌️
Lol, tell that to my boss who wants me to get 6 certs done in a year. But you're absolutely right, I remember the first time I tackled IPV6, I tried to rush it and I bombed, Once I slowed it down and took my time I was able to master it. Haste makes waste!!!
@@KeithBarker hahaa, thanks for that "nugget" Keith. Speaking of nuggets, your training videos when you were with CBT nuggets helped me pass CCNA Security and eventually led me to an MSc. in Network Security. Thanks for the work you do and the knowledge you share...
can you talk about your experience with study fatigue? Im doing icnd1 right now and im getting tired of looking at labs and taking notes. I still do it but I was going it twice a day now I do it once and its takes a lot of effort. What are some study hacks I can do to keep the focus?
Great question. Fatigue is a real thing, and not good. Some ideas that have worked for me are to have a clear goal of what I will do for study the next day (topic, book, video, lab, etc) and also eat well and get the amount of sleep needed to be effective at learning. Also, you can reward yourself by once tackling an objective for the day, if you complete it early, go ahead and identify what you want to cover the next day, and stop for the day! Sometimes by stepping away from a topic for a bit, gives the brain a chance to mull it over, and eventually truly "get it". Thanks for the comment and questions, and best of luck in your studies!
Great video dear sir , getting started is the difficult step , and I think a little luck is involved, I have a question , I was in business and sales for 8 years in diff positions, now I would love to fulfill my dream which is to vs a network engineer, I just did my ccna route and switch in December 2018, and doing ccna security now , IS THIS THE RIGHT CERTS OR PATH TOWORDS MY FIRST JOB , I LIVE IN SWEDEN. PLZ HELP
Hello and thanks for the question Saliha. I think the Cisco R/S CCNA and CCNP are a great foundation for anyone in IT. One secret is to take that knowledge, and then keep building on it based on the technical skills that are needed in the area you are it. Congratulations on the CCNA R/S.
@@KeithBarker thank you dear sir for the unconditional and great advice , I will do as told , i will keep in touch with you , you can guide me how ,other than you tube . Thank you once again dear sir .

Thank you for the question Jeremy. There are 3 techniques, and usually 1 of them will work. 1: identify how great it will be to get the thing done. imagine or visualize it and how great it will be, then start!!! 2: identify how terrible it will be if you don't do the thing. imagine or visualize all the horrible results, and then start!!! 3: don't think about it, just DO IT. Just start, and tell yourself you will go at it for at least 5 minutes, and chances are, you will feel more like continuing once you have started. Best wishes, and thanks for the question.
You help me to land my first job on networking then into system administration and now on cyber security. thank you Keith!
