Thanks for sharing Thread -- I'm learning a ton from your videos. Who knew I was making so many rookie mistakes! From what I've seen all your videos go through 2p games. I was wondering if you could make a video stepping through a 3 4 or 5 player game and discuss some different considerations you might make.
I got a review request for a 3P game. Your request might be enough for me to look through it. I was a pretty accomplished 3P player, but it has been a while.
Good game. I thought initially that you bought too many cards given your economy situation. I have lost a few games going like that. Waiting to get enough cash to get earth cat down. But it turned out fine in the end for you.
Honestly this is a fine Thorgate opener. Not remotely as disastrous as you seem to think looking at it. It’s the standard Thorgate game plan, open on bumper with card draw and play mid range rush. It’s nothing fancy and it’ll lose to any nut draw for any other strategic archetype, but really it’s just the average hard rush opposing draws that get an early NRA down or early Kelp that are particular tricky while being possible to beat since the average hard scaling archetypes usually won’t have enough time. Ok, let’s see how you fare here, time to watch!
Lunar beam early on is usually pretty good as it pushes game pace via the temp track and also provides power for later use. It's very good for Helion in particular, so was very surprised that it was passed. Ultimately, it's not good enough for me this game as I already have some heat and GIA in hand.
People in discord always unhappy with gen 2 bumper, but it literally has like 95% winrate lol. Don't understand several things you did - buying Valley was pretty bad, it is very expensive , didn't understand why you didn't go for Physics complex, it would be 6 points, a cycle, and a cheaper AGT (which you still didn't have tho), also losing on Martian Survey should had been anticipated, so you probably shouldn't buy it. Also, buying expensive cards instead of very cheap ones (mag field, lightning harvest, etc) cost you probably 4-5 points in the end). It didn't matter, but prioritizing cards that have bigger rebates is much better than playing expensive cards. Buying and playing Valley, Big Mag Field, TG etc, certainly cost you this game.
You can speculate on cards with Mars U. Protected Valley can be a useful tool for gardener, O2 bonus, or NRA. If it doesn't work, I'll just cycle it away later. Physics means I'm not using my bumper. My opponent just played insects to increase plant prod. I want to continue raising O2 to fight the TR. Once O2 is done, then I can let the energy flow over to heat. If heat is also moving along as it has been, the physics is just too expensive and slow. For survey, again the trick is I have Mars U, so I can gamble a bit more. Don't consider lightning harvest expensive. It's 6MC for1 VP 1 power, and 1 MC prod. That's decent value. I buy TG because with my 2 wild tags, it's a 6 VP card. That's pretty good and worth speculating on. It doesn't prevent me from ending and if my opponent starts to look scary, I can just not end and play TG for a massive point dump.

GG, thanks for sharing these videos!

Good game! Thorgate POWER!!! =)
Glad to see some Thorgate 😂
Hopefully it'll be the last time you see it for a while because I keep being dealt Credicor or Ecoline
Why is this Lunar beam so good? It pulls back your econ a lot, no?
