    I wish I could hit the like button once for every second of this performance. If only I could see this live. I love this so much! I am watching this through a second time and weeping for the beauty of the music and the words.

    The message was strong in the passing of my loves mother. I am forever grateful for the gift of song and praise. God is with me...,....

    This song is saving my life time and time again whenever I feel lost in my own "valley of death". I am eternally grateful for this beautiful contribution to the world.

    Lyrics:
    Fear not.
    Do not be afraid.
    Oh Lord, how many are my foes.
    Many are rising against me.
    Many are saying of my soul
    there is no salvation for him in God!
    Fear not, for I am with you.
    Do not be dismayed,
    for I am your God.
    I will not fail you,
    I'll never leave you.
    The Lord is my shepherd,
    I shall not want.
    Although I walk through the valley
    of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil,
    for God is with me.
    I will fear no danger,
    for God is with me.
    I will fear no pain,
    for God is with me.
    I will fear no sorrow,
    for God is with me.

    This performance of Fear Not took my breath away! Was I hearing an overtone on the chord that took place right at (1:25-26) or was someone really hitting a high E (above high C)??! Bravo!

    I love this song but... why is it so LONG compared to other songs, I'm not saying this is a bad song.
    An average choir song is 3-4 minutes. This one is like 7-8 minutes. I'm not so sure about the choir I'm currently in doing this one... because of the length, I love the quality of it though.

      @@lucashenning3158 listen to the end of the song "Sleep" by Eric Whitacre and then come back to tell us that this ending isn't a direct copy/paste.

    Couldn't the singers and the conductor be clothed in a neutral way, rather than being reduced to male and female stereotypes ?

    • @VTorrance
      @VTorrance 8 років тому +10

      Frenchlad As one of the singers in this recording, no one in the group had an issue with the dress code and did not feel "reduced."

    • @Frenchlad
      @Frenchlad 8 років тому

      Those sexual stereotypes were just useless and off topic

    • @VTorrance
      @VTorrance 8 років тому +8

      Frenchlad Was the choir supposed to wear nude body suits? We were wearing traditional choral attire. You are entitled to your opinion, but in the professional world we chose to wear our regular performance attire.

    • @Frenchlad
      @Frenchlad 8 років тому

      On the following website, I found a few items which have no sexual connotation and have nothing to do with nude body suits : www.almy.com/Category/ChoirRobes/parent/webnav-productcategory

      @VTorrance 8 років тому +5

      Frenchlad choir robes are also incredibly expensive if you want any of the bells and whistles. They also haven't been used regularly in programs across the country for many years now. The CWU choir uniforms were also purchased out of pocket meaning the university did not fund the attire. I understand where you are coming from, but at the end of the day what is most important is the music. Who cares what people are wearing if the music is impactful? No one in the video felt oppressed or objectified or pushed into a corner based on gender roles. If anyone had felt that way the director would have addressed the issue.
