    I had one of those No 1 MkIII's. You'd fire the grenade with the butt on the ground, not on the shoulder. And of course would take off the launcher when using as a regular rifle.

    You're right about the Volksturm rifle with the MP44 magazine having been built solely in semiauto.
    Very interesting, thanks!

Not that I don't like pistols, mind you...it's just nice to see you expanding the horizons of your channel & business! Thank you so much for the videos! I'm soooooo looking forward to seeing the other guns you bring in over the next month!

      @@martincorbitt1979 You can go back before 1968 GCA. These German Military in excellent shape can be purchased at Gifts shop in W. Germany for $20.00. I only owned WW-II Walther P-38 with German Proof Mark Speebeck for $130.00 in 1978. I sold it for $189.00 two months later with $15.00 FFL fee in NJ.

    dust covers didnt rattle since each one was custom fitted to each parent rifle (serial number matching), rattling only occurs when you mismatch covers and rifles.
    "Throwing them away" would be a punishable offense as they were the personal property of the Emperor

    • @guyhubler9460
      @guyhubler9460 3 роки тому

      Yes they did rattle. I have 4 near unissued examples with matching covers. The do indeed rattle when actioned. Also, they started to rattle as the get loose from being worn. As found on my other examples, they are very clanky.
      I don't feel the soldiers threw them away but rather just took them off. They were never put back on for obvious reasons.

    Interesting the Walter's didn't have lanyard ring on heel, indicative of commercial production... most any and every military model pistols from any nation 20's 30's to 50s all has a lanyard ring on the heel or mag.

    "Prices are very strong, that's a good thing"...yeah, for you maybe. For us out here in the buying public, even basic firearms like a Glock or S&W M&P have skyrocketed to 2X or even 3X what they were this time last year. Ammo has gone through the roof as well. It's getting to be only the very well off can afford anything but the most "inexpensive" of guns. After attending the Tulsa show this weekend, I've decided to simply not even try to add to my collection until things calm down and go back to normal. If they don't, I guess I'll collect paperclips or something.

    That's an Enfield smle. Similar wire wraps and an ishipore screw were added to no.4mk1 and no.4mk1 star rifles used in ww2, yes smle's where used in the war.. but to my knowledge none where manufactured in India. Maybe a few less desirable rare abominations where..? No.4mk1 rifles of longbranch Canadian manufacturer along with savage u.s. production rifles and maltby england b.a. rifles all have traveled the world a few times by now but by 1942-1946 new rifles that ended up in india or Egypt and Australia lots show these "updates " wire wraps black spray paint or cooked parts to blacken them along with ishy screws... I'm not sure any of those modifications were true to British armour documents/ recommendation of the time. These seem field jobs. That certainly adds intrigue and value... I do restoration work on no.4mk1 rifles, any sporterized rifle I can find with good metal left of receiver and good Mark's charging bridge intact .. I try to acquire or give advice to bringing it back to full wood and its former military glory... each one speaks a history... I cried when you mentioned lugers... passed down to me and stolen in a safe in a storage unit a few years ago... 1942 byf luger with matching mags tool and holster . All numbers match 2117 or 2817 2217 idk i couldn't verify serial number to even file report... 18 years I kept her lock and key. Blonde grips and blue metal. Black plastic mag bases not wood waffen stamped but I traced it as being issued to a police Gestapo unit. Stolen from storage unit in cross lanes west Virginia between March- April of 4 years ago that summer we drove to Orlando to Disney.. I missed the byf luger the whole trip and till this day because it belongs in museum or in the hands of that german police man's family today. The thought twists my stomach. I fired that p08 on occasion didn't bring her out much but my collection now has almost equally beautiful Finnish capture rifles and other neat shooters 1915- 20's to 30s and ww2 iconic models.. but I do love building/refinishing no.4mk1 rifles my latest a 45 longbranch and 42 savage takes love to keep these old gals properly cared for. Thanks for the video I've never had a k98 in my hands but since a boy I've always wanted one.

    • @cameronbooker445
      @cameronbooker445 3 роки тому

      My byf luger does have two very distinctive hand engraved numbers on the frame in to different places... the numbers aren't matching each other nor correlate to German stamps on the pistol. I do have old pictures of the pistol. Keep your eyes out I would definitely give reward no questions asked. But a skinny body definitely got in through the top of the unit and also took a 527 s&w nickel plated .357 magnum. A thousand dollar gun by itself..

    • @cameronbooker445
      @cameronbooker445 3 роки тому

      Years ago I saw online pictures of a byf luger 2××× serial range just over 190 units produced since mine. ... I've since wanted to maybe buy a swiss one or ww1 or 30's p08 but will never be what I had, a '42 98 percent condition mags tool holster that belongs in a museum... good luck right...

    I don't agree with the dust cover on the Ariska.. there is a video that shows Imperial troops surrendering at the end of the war and "every" rifle had its dust cover.. especially at the 1:26 mark. Surrender of Japanese troops - UA-cam
