We purchased the Franke Food Waste Disposer a few months ago (model FWD75R - 3/4 HP - 120V) I measured it at 106 decibels of sound! The product works great but it's noise level is unacceptable. An Insinkerator unit in a friend's home is far quieter and works just as well. We did call Franke service, the unit was replaced. The technician noted that he had other similar complaints and stated the units are all just as noisy. I can't imagine what the 1 HP unit sounds like. Sorry Franke..

Cara Brasil é diferente do que Estados Unidos (com modelos de triturador). Mas, insinkerator é melhor.
      Mas sim, mentiram.

There is most certainly no Swedish engineering or design in the Franke disposers! All they are is just a rebranded POS disposer from the American Anaheim company.
The InSinkErator Evolution series is superior to these cheap and nasty disposers, its virtually silent and has almost no vibration thanks to the special mounts. Plus 3 stage grinding which should never clog as a opposed to just one stage on the Franke. The Franke probably has carbon brushes which wear down and need replacing, induction motors in the ISE's are pretty much maintenance free. Also the high end ISE's have a full stainless steel grind chamber and grinding components as opposed to the corrosion resistant glass filled nylon chamber which does in fact corrode out over time! ISE is the way to go, the high end disposers I know are made in the USA, where as these Franke's are made in China.

Nope. Not convinced. InSinkErator excel 1HP garbage disposal is among the best. Franke uses brush motor, that means when brushes wears off, you have to take everything out and replace the brushes. InSinkErator features massive induction motor witch doesn't have any brushes inside, so if it starts to leak it could still work ,as for brushed motor - even a slightest leak of water will make a total failure of the motor. Sorry franke, rethink your design.

If any disposer starts to leak... well that is the end of it. Makes no difference if Franke, ISE or Anaheim. I make living by repairing and installing them and while I like robustness of ISE (heavy is good, heavy is reliable :-) they have one major flaw. ISE chamber is made out of alloy (or just a galvanized steel in cheaper ones) and it rusts away. Brush based disposers have chamber made out of reinforced plastic and it lasts forever. And replacing brushes? It takes 10 - 12 years (sometimes even more) before you have to replace them (and then you better of by buying brand new unit anyway) ISE will rust through by that time. Brush motors have to be more noisy, they pull 1000 RPM more than induction motors. While grinding, there is not much difference in noise. They are both fine machines and both will do their jobs. Your choice and happy grinding :-)

Pathetic to put more in the other than say that one is more efficient then the other
