I'm so glad that they are showing a Corps de Ballet rehearsal. The Corps always work so hard to get their precision and line perfect for each ballet. It's such a great opportunity to be able to observe their rehearsals to see how much is expected of young dancers in the company.
Thank you Russia! So many talented dancers - quite incredible. Seeing great ballerinas Olga Smirnova and Eleonora Sevenard working so hard was amazing. Watching Denis and Elya dance rehearse the PDD is just one of the most beautiful things to do ✨🌸💝! I could watch them all day 😃. Denis looks very good, so does Elya. When I watched this rehearsal for the first time, Denis left a bit of a tough impression on me: the way he talks to her when correcting. Rewatching it I think he‘s alright, he’s fine, I can see that he likes her (more than that), that she‘s important for him. Also it‘s probably a matter of language, not to mention that ballet is hard work. Elya does great 👍🏼! It‘s beautiful that they are a couple in real life 💞 and they are actually cute 🐣. I hope and I wish that it‘s going well for them 🙏🏼.
Yes, i was schocked ! I didn't know, they are a couple. When they are, i can accept bette that he's a little bit hard and demanding.They know eachother well.
Yay! Greetings from the USA, Olympia, WA. So happy to see the Bolshoi Ballet again during World Ballet Day Celebrations. Always a treat. It looks like they are having fun doing McMillan's Romeo and Juliet. The dancers in the Pas de Deux did wonderfully. I like the nice bright studios at the choreographic Institute. I loved this professors class last year and I agree with his teaching philosophy. Boris Akimov is a great teacher. Good bright music for this class too. Excellent accompanist too.
He seems so nice and knowledgeable- what a privilege for the dancers to work with him. Wishing him good health so he continues to share his knowledge and love for ballet!

iMitrich she does not use it. And by the way she has feelings for him too, they are together in real life. And Rodkin is not “ student” he is a 29 year old PRINCIPAL. He is of course more experienced and is giving corrections by experience. Zakharova could do the same with him since she is 40. When Rodkin danced Swan Lake with Kovaleva, which is only one year older than Sevenard, he probably gave her advice too. It’s normal when partnering younger ballerinas. And honestly if you can’t see the diamond in the rough that Sevenard is, bad for you. She has great talent and proved it way before joining Bolshoi.
I wish they only showed classes and rehearsals. Leave it to the Russians to use prerecorded scripted material for world ballet day LIVE! I still enjoyed the footage but they could've uploaded that separately.
When world ballet day first began, the Bolshoi did most everything live. Many complained and regretted that they could not understand what was being said, so they pre-recorded segments so that they could add subtitles.

I guess to me watching the classes is almost a universal language, and it's so interesting to watch the daily routines of the company. And then having a few prerecorded segments thrown in like interviews and prerecorded rehearsals are great. I'm not complaining though, I'm glad they participate I just mostly really wished we saw the full morning class with Boris.

He’s a principal and the ballerina she was dancing with is a soloist but is also his girlfriend and is very young, only 21. They’ve said in interviews that she asks him to share his experiences with her and he gives her advice. Eleonora said herself she values Rodkin’s advices very much when it comes to ballet. In this video he was kind of correcting her on a few things, they are supposed to dance Kitri and Basil in a few days so I think they’re nervous, they’ve said they are more nervous when they dance together than with other people because if one of them messes up they are sad for each other
