I have some thoughts of why the two plane creatures were fighting.
1. They are territorial creatures
2. The one with the uncracked plane face is a rebel, and the other one is trying to kill it.
3. The one with the craked place face is a rebel, and the other one is trying to kill it.

Still pretty good and interesting. Still find issue with it being set in 1963 though. (Very jarring to see stuff like laptops and modern cars in _1963_ of all years.)

I rlly like this i have a concept of a animated series in my mind of kaijus reversing the roles of this world and basically lead to an doomsday scenario.
I feel like something you could do here is make it so the creatures fight each other completely ignoring the humans below after a debate over resources. Think of it like if humans were edrich horrors.
