The real purpose of the engagement ring is the binding contract to marry. That's why if the wedding is called off by him, she gets to keep the ring. At the same time, I think that if the lady calls off the wedding, she should return the ring. Interesting fact: In the Netherlands, the men get engagement rings too. My Dad's was a garnet set in gold.

Though I like Diana (as a person) not her ring. To bad she isnt still here today. She might would have stopped all the fake papped commercial flights and Willileaks and Kate weapnizing with the press against Harry. It would not be as it is today. She would have knocked some sense into him. Better yet, he might have not turned out the entitled selfish spoiled jerk that he is if Diana had stayed around a little longer. Nor would she have condone Kate's background noise either. Leaking and lying to the press and making herself out to be some kind of crying victim at someone elses wedding when in reality she was the perpetrator. The Tatler cayherine the great article was the most damning piece of evidence against her. Her showing her entitled to write the script behind changing the entire story to her liking but still leaving in the part about her being a victim and Meghan the "bully" mean black woman that made the white perfect princess cry bullshit. Diana is rolling over in her grave at their atrocious behavior. William is just like his cowardly pathetic assinine father.
