Thanks Lucy, I've learned a lot from you guys about Faire the last 10 months. Right now I'm doing better on Etsy than Faire but its still my 2nd best platform. The only annoying thing is that I have had a couple small orders ~ $25 and with the flat $10 fee + 25% commission I get left with $4 lol. I really do need to make an effort getting people to go to my direct link instead and doing email marketing...one of my goals for 2024.
Good job you've done well this year putting the work in! It's tough when you're not getting immediate gratification for this kind of work. The changes to Faire's commission structure haven't hit us in the UK yet so we are able to make the 0 MOQ on UK orders work, but sounds like you might need to look at MOQs? The other thing is if it's only a couple of orders that you are getting tiny orders on I would look at them like this: 1. Do those customers eventually come back? Can you engage with them - are they just sampling before ordering more? In which case could be valuable to have the low MOQ. 2. How many are actually doing this and how much are you losing? If it's a small amount think of it as the same concept as a loss leader product. This only works if it's not bleeding you dry thought. Direct link and email marketing is a great goal for 2024. I'll see how we can help with that in our content schedule.
