Wagons are the goods. The fact that yall talked abt the 850r, a vehicle I've wanted for years, actually made me smile like a dummy for a solid couple minutes. Thanks yall ❤
Sadly wont happen... stupidity of chicken tax raising prises, people being conditioned to go for SUVs, especially women because they want "to feel secure" while being a menace to everyone and everything else on the road. If law was finally changed to penalize and price SUVs and pickups accordingly and lower prices of wagons to where they should be(slightly over the sedans or the same as sedans) then they could claw back the market from suvs and trucks. As it is now only one wagon matters and its Subaru Outback(which also wasnt mentioned for whatever reason when its the cheapest when new and has a sporty trim). There has to be taken harsh and precise action on eradicating the loopholes that crossovers and suvs exploit(especially for fuel economy/efficiency as for EVs) and make chickentax go away so overseas made wagons can be sold at proper prices. Otherwise there is no way in hell america can be fixed to drive what they always should instead of swarms of trucks and suvs. Australians made amazing wagons that never even go to us, commodore was sold as Chevy SS and none of the fools bought it, so they didnt even bother with the wagon version. CTS-V wagon from 2009-2011 didnt sell when new either(while car enthusiasts kill each other for them, as they had both supercharged V8 and a manual)
In the process of building a magnum rt with 17 charger stuff. 392, 8spd auto, diff, and the entire front clip. Oh and dash and some other interior bits.
For reliability sake, the road master, the BMW M5 wagon, and both volvos can be good cars! Edit: the Magnum, while cool, isnt built the best, as mentioned, and any old Mercedes like the ones mentioned have many many computer systems that break down over time. I thought I’d let all of you know that if one of those is the one you are set on buying.
I'd have to agree witht the Mercedes part. 2000s and onwards (maybe even a little bit before) was when priorities shifted and the mercs started becoming shit. Much cheaper to buy anything else because the repairs are ridiculous, and the engineering really went out the window. But, if you venture before that into the era of the w124 and w123 (and even the w202) you find the mercs when they were tanks. Stock, they don't have oodles of power (for their day they did) but handling and reliability is top notch. If you can find a good example (and got a bit of tech prowess), swap in an m104 and tune it up, or even a v8 if you have a w123 as they bolt in much easier. Watch out for w124s from 94-96 as well for "eco friendly" wiring looms, as that can cost a bit too.
@@mickb1470 oh I totally agree. That was back when Mercedes designed a car to be it’s very best then just charge the customer what they thought would cover the design and production costs. I absolutely love wagons. All though I didn't grow up in one, nor have I ever been in one, I think they're much more useful than run of the mill sedans and such. I have been looking for American made wagons so that I can cruise through the windy turns of hill towns, but I have found that newer is almost always more attainable.
