I love how each genre has its own distinct animation style, it really adds to how applicable the band is to pretty much any era of music history. I remember seeing this and never had as much appreciation for it as I do now.
I just had the biggest nostalgia trip in my entire life, and it made me realize that this is something that only my generation will ever experience. They will never be able to experience the fun of watching Johnny Bravo fall flat on his face and get right back up the, the thrilling chill of Courage the Cowardly Dog Show, the mystery that the original Scooby Doo, the heart felt and humorous moments of Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends, and everything thing else that made us laugh, smile, and cried from what used to be an amazing channel.
Amen to that. This is so well written, broke my heart a little. We got Boomerang before it was mainstream. It was sold as a cable add-on so we would upgrade our cable package. It was so new, that it had no TV Guide listing or commercials, just the bumpers (the H&B toys) and random old shows. My brother and I loved it, was like a cartoon roulette of classic shows from Scooby-Doo to Johnny Quest. One day they played nothing but classic Marvel cartoons, Spider-Man, Hulk and Fantastic Four, it was like a streaming service in the 90s! Soon they added more shows, we caught every episode of SWAT Kats, Pirates of Dark Water, and other newer shows got added from USA, but the real hurt was when the commercials started. It was hardly the death of the channel, it was just the start for a lot of people, but it snapped us out of a haze of having someplace to go for constant cartoons with no interruptions in an age before "On Demand" television. Boomerang went on to be our 'go to channel till we moved, but like you said, it was a wonder that can't be duplicated for kids now, and they are sadly the worse off for the loss of the experience.
@@justesorn9536 I don’t think I ever watched SWAT kats or Pirates of Dark Water what were they like. You see, I was born near the end of this golden era of cartoons and I only got to see some of the shows that they still aired and others that came in like KND and Johnny Test and shows like that before the modern version of boomerang turned into the equivalent of a half baked bread loaf that was thrown into water
@@alphathewolf5054 I'm an old fart when it comes to cartoons, but thankfully I had a brother in 89´,so my watching stayed relevant. SWAT Kats is in my top 5 cartoons. Two former police officers build their own F14 Tomcat and become vigilante heroes! To a newly minted teenager, it kicked serious ass and still holds up today! Pirates is in my top 10 but is hard to explain. Hamlet on the high seas, meets Treasure Island and the Blob. The planet is being eaten by a living Tar called Dark Water. A young prince tries to find seven treasures that will destroy it. It's fantastically done, funny balances out the seriousness, but it suffers from Ted Turner syndrome and it was canceled before it finished. I strongly recommend them both as great love letters to the end of traditional non-CalArts animation.
@@justesorn9536 isn’t the Ted Turner syndrome the same thing that happened to the original Teen Titans when it was ended on a cliff hanger. Edit: holy shit you just hit me right in the face when you described SWAT kats I haven’t heard that in so long WOW... damn it, I just realized how old that makes me feel, like when you describe what Vines was to some zoomer TikTokker.
@@alphathewolf5054 Well to me, the 90s still feel like ten years ago! I've gotten to the point where if it's Zoomer bullshit, I shut it out. Nothing worthwhile comes of it. ;) Anyway, as I'm sure you know by now, Turner is completely insane. Bill Gates levels of crazy, and he let it shine during the end of the 80s and through the 90s. Turner Syndrome refers to the insane restrictions he placed on cartoons to more or less sabotage them purposely to make shows that pushed his politics look better and get more air time. SWAT Kats fell victim to this as the third season got started, because "Tiny Ted" thought it was too scary! He quickly filled the time slot with Crapton Planet. Pirates got the axe mid-season for the same reason. Shows that were very popular got mysteriously canceled, their budgets getting funneled to "educational" programs. Thus, cartoons became less about entertainment and more about propaganda.
I love how the animation takes you through the decades(and different styles of music). There are so many different styles present in the song that it’s impressive that song doesn’t like one massive hodgepodge of styles. This is a gem. Super underrated. It was great 25 years ago and it´s great now. I´d wish I could find a HD copy.

Ah this was when Boomerang was at its peak
this, Quick Draw McGraw, and the Jabberjaw shorts are pure nostalgia. The moment you saw that projector, you knew it was gonna be something good. Shame the channel has gone severely downhill
You are literally everywhere
Also atom ant
Before this was Boomerang's peak, it was Cartoon Network's peak. This first aired on Cartoon Network back before there was a Boomerang channel.
will we ever escape the clutches of avery?
Now its just a CN reskin :-:
The Nostalgia is REAL!!!
This is history right here. Nostalgia is the feeling im having right now.
This was my favorite commercial to see as a kid

Chronic Migraine I miss being a child😭
Makes me wanna cry bc it bring be back to my childhood days 😢😔 those were the days
KingNation TRUE same 😭😯👍
Yeah good times, good times.
Sammeeee😭😭
KingNation I know right. This brings me back to the days of the power puff girls, where i would fall asleep during the intro of the actual original teen titans. Boomerang cartoon network bumpers would wake me up. I wish other kids could've enjoyed the childhood us 2000's kids had. Now all they have is shitty shows and dead boomerang. 😭
One helluva tribute to my childhood
60’s: Retro rock
Early 70’s: Disco
Late 70’s: Punk rock
Late 70’s/early 80’s: country western
Late 80’s/early 90’s: power/hair metal
Late 90’s/early 2000’s: hip hop/techno
Edit: bruh thanks for the crazy amount of likes
Thanks
I remember trying to pinpoint those genres. As a kid I always thought it was like Classic, Disco/Jazz, Classic Rock, Country, Modern Rock, and Techno. Good to see I was mostly right. XD
The 90s reminds me of Linkin Park
If thats what you think late 70s punk was, I have very bad news
@@SeanMichaelSmith was it too hard to correct him nicely
I may be a teen, but this hits my childhood so badly, I can somehow remember all these short cartoons that would always play after any show
Same
I’m only 16 and I still remember these, how I miss the old boomerang 😭
@WEED eater This was on cartoon network as a commercial before boomerang.
Deserved rotation on the Boomerang network
@@sammicoporyep, back in the good old days 😢😢
I saw this on boomerang ALL the time 😂. This is so nostalgic.
One thing I absolutely love about this is it really shows how your taste for music changes when you get older. The punk rock was my least favorite as a child but now it’s probably my most favorite. I still love the disco and techno parts too.
THIS WAS MY CHILDHOOD I WANTED TO WATCH THE SHOW SO BAD.

Ahhh sweet memories.... this was when Boomerang ACTUALLY used to have many old shows on the channel
Wait what happened to Boomerang? I haven't watch the channel in like 7 years.
@@parkermaisterra8532 Now it's just recent shows, and a lot of Tom and Jerry unfortunately. The logo is gone, and these shorts no longer play between cartoons
@@parkermaisterra8532 For a while it was that and nothing but Teen Titans go. Past 2014 Boomerang just cratered.
I haven't seen this in YEARS!! Damn i feel old
Same dude
Same. It used to play so much on Boomerang back in the early 2010s 🥲
Awwwwww!!!!!!! I love these girls! this was my childhood!!!!!
This and JabberJaw "Running Underwater" were my favorite ones.

*The animation and work built into this..is awesome..we need for animators like the creators of this,err..Kid's show,I assume?*
Yes, nobody even botheres with animation budgets and marketing anymore..sad

I seen this back in like 08 when I was 8 🤣
Looking back at this it really reminds me of all the cartoonz we loved and lost
Rip REAL CARTOON NETWORK
Curlly Frizz boomering*
Boomerang*
This animation was so ahead in terms of smoothness and quality. At least when compared to the actual episodes of Josie and the pussycats. Makes me really really want a reboot.
This was just a short animation, so they had time to dedicate to fluidity and such. All the cartoon studios at that time had to produce 13-16 weeks of multiple shows on an extremely tight budget, so they had to take shortcuts where they could.
Any reboot will be that 3D animation they do now and never seems to make the older cartoons look good.
Not necessarily. They also have the Flash animated shows like My Little Pony which resemble the old hand drawn somewhat.
The KISS segment will forever be one of the most epic moments in commercial history. So epic!
I don't know *what* compelled me to look up this video at this time...but I did...and now I feel *REALLY* old
rip boomerang
What do you mean? My grandparents had boomerang channel, I don't have it at my house. What happened? did they change the style or something?

It’s really well put together pieces of music.

Josie and the Pussycats was by far the most charming Hanna Barbera cartoon.
This is one of those mini clips of Boomerang that I remembered, but couldn't remember what it was. There are a ton more I can remember but don't know what it is called. Watching this is very emotional though, bringing back all of those childhood memories that have seemed to fade away. I miss old cartoons.

Man sooo many memories. This and toonami.
And the song of "one more time"
I LOVE how this entire video appreciates every generation of music, and as someone who ADORES music of all eras (especially old school and EDM), it makes me love the video a lot more.
I just wish the Disco segment was extended more, it was my favorite one.
My favorite part was as the metal trio. The series should have had that theme.
Brian it took place in the '70's
Jordan Wright - 60's actually as the first genre they switch to is disco which is the 70's while their original music is classic rock which is 60's.
No it shouldn't of. Because metal wasn't really a big deal, at the time when the series was around.
This shaped my music taste. I remember this being my favorite bumper cuz of the colors but now as a fan of animation and different music genres I appreciate it even more
