This miracle of Christ matches up with the 1st plague in the Old Testament, which was God turning the water into blood. Even the water stored in the pots turned into blood. Christ first turned the water into wine and then at the last supper turned the wine into blood, followed by his offering himself, as God's only Son, firstborn, which symbolizes the last plague of the curse upon the firstborn sons. The Old Testament plagues represent the curses of God's wrath and the miracles of Christ represent the blessings of God's mercy and grace through His Son Jesus Christ. @@ludyveronique From the Wikipedia: The term doxa is an ancient Greek term (δόξα) that comes from the verb dokein (δοκεῖν), meaning 'to appear, to seem, to think, to accept'.[1] Between the 3rd and 1st centuries BCE, the term picked up an additional meaning when the Biblical Hebrew word for 'glory' (כבוד, kavod) was translated by the Septuagint as doxa. This translation of the Hebrew scriptures was used by the early Church, causing the term to be frequently used in the New Testament. The term is also used in the worship services of the Greek Orthodox Church, where the glorification of God in true worship is also seen as true belief. In that context, doxa reflects behavior or practice in worship, and the belief of the whole church rather than personal opinion. It is the unification of these multiple meanings of doxa that is reflected in the modern terms orthodoxy[2] and heterodoxy.[3][4] This semantic merging in the word doxa is also seen in Russian word slava (слава), which means 'glory', but is used with the meaning of praise or worship in words like pravoslavie (православие), meaning 'orthodoxy' (or, literally, 'true belief', 'true way of worship') deriving more from the verb 'славить' - to praise. I’m catholic, and I don’t see anything that contradicts catholic teaching. As Catholics we do focus on the fact that the Blessed Virgin revealed Jesus publicly by asking Him to perform the first miracle, that being said many are understanding Jewish understanding of some of the implications of what Jesus said and did, both Protestant and Catholics. This is why we have scholars who have focus his entire career and brining out the Jewish roots of a lot of our beliefs.
@@simplydanny if you think I’m saying that A Rood Awakening is contradicting Catholicism, I’m not… I’m fascinated with the Jewish perspective. Still, every time the church split, someone was right, someone was wrong, and maybe neither were 100% right or wrong. It’s like the parable of the sower, repeated in the Gospels. Three seeds grew, but only one matured to harvest. Before producing fruits, they looked the same, with the same potential. Jesus said many are called but few chosen. Many are on the wide, easy road to destruction, but few find the narrow path. In Paul Bunyan’s book, Pilgrim’s Progress, there were deviations from the right path. My hypothesis is that church splits are deviations from the right path for many.

I wondered the same thing about doxa, so I looked for it in the NT and found that is translated as "glory" almost every time, often with unmistakable reference to splendor, honor, and exaltation. "Righteous judgment," however, comes from different Greek words: δίκαιος κρίσις (diakaios krisis). See John 7:24, Romans 2:5, 2 Thessalonians 1:5, and Revelation 19:2 those instances. I think if John intended for "righteous judgment" to be used in John 2:11 instead of "glory," he would have used diakaios krisis instead of doxa.
@@JudeOneThree Thanks brother; good work! So in the selected text glory is an appropriate translations, but other instances of the translated word glory, are rooted in a word meaning righteous judgement. Interesting.
@@michaeljay4816 I think you misunderstood me, or maybe I'm misunderstanding your reply to me. Let me try to be more clear. In almost every instance where doxa appears in the GNT, it is rendered as "glory" (occasionally it is "honor" or "glorious might"). I am unaware of any other Greek word in the NT that is rendered "glory." When "glory" appears in the NT, it is from doxa. When I searched for "righteous judgment" in English in NASB95, I found those examples listed above. In them, diakaios krisis are the Greek words for "righteous judgment." Diakaios krisis is never rendered as "glory." Summarily, "glory" and "righteous judgment" are from completely different Greek words, and equating doxa with "righteous judgment" in John 2:11 is (imho) quite inappropriate and inconsistent with other NT texts. "Glory" is correct and consistent. That's what I found. And I hope that helps clear up any misunderstanding.
@@michaeljay4816 Incidentally, I would add that I found two things in my quick research that you might find interesting. First, Rood has no qualifications or credentials for Bible translation. In fact, he lists no training in his own bio. Second, the Corrected King James Version (CKJV) that Rood uses in this video is his own personal translation. He is the sole author of it. So he is not teaching from a reliable translation backed by credible biblical linguists. He is teaching his own fanciful ideas out of a Bible nobody officially validates.

Very interesting way to explain this passage. One question however, maybe you will answer (or not), the Greek word which you emphasized at the end, doxa, is translated throughout the NT as "glory" which leads me to believe that not only the KJV is correct but many other translations that do the same. At the same time, Strong's defines it as "dignity, glory, honor, praise, worship". Where do you get the translation of "judgement" for doxa? Thanks.
Nope. There is no reference for this claim. If you look it up in the BDAG lexicon, which is the most extensive lexicon available for the New Testament, you'll find a number of English glosses related to glory: brilliance, radiance, splendor, fame, honor, etc. "Judgment" doesn't appear to be in doxa's range of meanings.
@@stevenalexander6713yes there is a reference. The day of the Lord is a judgment and in Apost. 2,20 Paulus says, The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come. Great and notable day = judgment.
@@antonioschaupp2047 The question is, where is the Greek word δόξα (doxa) translated as "judgment." The word "doxa" doesn't appear in this verse, therefore it can't be used as a reference for doxa being translated as judgment.
Doxa means glory, splendor, dignity. Only in exceptionally rare circumstances is it ever "judgements". The Greek word usually used for judgements is epidíkasi. 9/10 it is glory.
I have for a long time wondered how this miracle manifested His glory. You're right in that "doxa" means "glory" more often than it means "judgment" but in this case "judgment" seems to make more/better sense than "glory" IMHO.
Thayer gives the very first definition as "opinion, judgement." NAS Lexicon is similar, but NAS still translates it "glory" 155 times. But I'll say this... there are some verses where "judgment" might make for some interesting linear thought. Since in (en) can be "with," changing glory for judgment in Matt. 16:27 might make sense. "For the Son of Man is going to come with the judgment of His Father with His angels, and WILL THEN REPAY EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS."

I would have liked a thorough discussion about why you think the Hebrew word "kavod" should be translated to the greek "doxa" sense "judgement" rather than the "doxa" sense "glory". If we look up doxa, it can mean either. But I see the meaning of "kavod" as terrifying or intense "glory". I doubt man; that's true. This is all good though because it is what I was asking for; a discussion on the subject. I realize the new testament was written in a Jewish/Greek "Koine Judeo-Greek dialect that was not strictly classic Greek. Here's Wiki's description of the Hebrew "kavod". "Glory" is one of the most common praise words in scripture. In the Hebrew Bible, the concept of glory is expressed with several Hebrew words, including Hod (הוד) and kavod (כָּבוֹד). Later, these original Hebrew Bible concepts for glory were translated in the Christian Testament as the Greek word doxa (δόξα). I'm still not convinced that the meaning is anything other than glory.
Very interesting. I’m still trying to find any reference work showing that doxa means “judgment” rather than “glory”. Yea, its basic meaning was “opinion” and “reputation”, but can’t see how it means “judgment” according to this explanation without stretching its meaning a little too much.

@@earlysda why do you worship the King James Bible over all the Bible versions? The Septuagint was the "authorized" version of the OT that Jesus used when he read from the Scriptures. After his ascension the wicked Jews tried to "edit" them by changing verses that clearly spoke of him. But that task was too big, too many copies to edit. So they rewrote the entire OT; we know it as the Masoretic Text. So the OT went from Hebrew to Greek and then back to Hebrew and in that process it was "edited" to remove Messianic references to Jesus, and clear Scriptures that showed him as God the Father made flesh. The King James translators used the wicked Masoretic text almost exclusively instead of the older and more accurate Septuagint text. Why? Because there are people who love their "golden calf" named: Trinity. Now, if you truly love God with all your heart mind soul and strength, then you will ask the LORD Jesus about his "oneness," or his mystery of godliness according to him, the living word, instead of believe the men that loved Greek philosophy, which they used to pollute the pure faith with their paganism. Further more, the blind Pharisees demanded Jesus tell them who he was, so he did. He said, "If you do not believe that "I am he" then you will die in your sins." Jesus's reference to "I am he" is that of the Father used in Deut and Isa. They knew that but they ignored it and pressed further. So Jesus said, "Before Abraham was, I am." Well, that did it! A beautiful sharing, and very useful Talmud ref. Thank you! It is the text that tells us they have run short of wine. Miriam merely says, “They have no wine.” (“ὑστερή οὐκ ἔχουσιν”) Not, as quoted here, “They have no more wine.” She takes us to the last time they had no wine, as it was before Noah invented wine to relieve the curse of Adam. But the curse of work was passed to his grandson, Canaan, a name that actually means “servant” or “slave”. (See Gn 9:18-29) By their obedience, (“Do whatever he tells you”) the servants are released; the ancient curse is broken. Messiah breaks the ancient curses, and seals each break with a miracle, as if to test or to demonstrate the potency of the break. Water (recalling the flood) to wine (recalling Noah’s relief of the curse) is particularly elegant.
While I find the teaching great and find it intriguing regarding the miracles being judgements on the pharisees, I have not found anywhere where the greek word Doxa describes judgement. After careful research, everywhere I look it describes Doxa as "glory or honor adscribed to". Every commentary on the word describes it that way and every translation of the Bible, inlcuding the original KJV renders it glory. I'm curious as to how it was interpreted to mean judgement.

That is very beautiful insight you have been given, I'm very happy to learn this. I'm Catholic and we teach of course of this miracle speaking of the giving of Himself as food in His precious Body and Blood. The Eucharist!
Catholics are not Christians. The Catholic Church is a church of perversions. They have assumed authority of God on this earth when they are mere humans who are on this earth because they committed the grievous sin of treason against God in heaven. They are sinners like everyone else on earth. The sin was committed by man against God and it is God who decided to redeem us from the bondage of death by dying in our stead. (God is the benefactor and we are the beneficiaries. The benefactor does not defy the benefactor) 😮Man has no say in the matter of salvation. The only part a human being plays is to keep his part of the covenant. The Catholic Church has absolutely no authority to change anything. It is for this reason that the Bible warns that we should not make the slightest change. The Catholic Church has tweaked doctrines and force fitted their own thinking with that of God's. One example of this is the Sabbath Day. They have changed it from Saturday to Sunday. Sunday is the memorial day of God's creation. It was fixed right at the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Sunday is the Sabbath Day. Fallen fallen is Babylon the Great... Come out of her my people. People who obey God's laws are called God's people. What kind of people can do so far as to tweak the 10 Commandments.
There is no bread in this passage. Christ changed water into wine, so the partygoers could continue their partying - and so his mother and the host would not be embarrassed by running out of wine. Just because something is in the Bible doesn't mean that the words mean something different ("deeper") than their ordinary meanings. God invented language so He could communicate with us - not so He could write hidden meanings for only the cognoscenti to understand. Read my comment up above.

There is a different Greek word for judgement, “Krisis”. If John wanted to communicate judgment, he more than likely would’ve have used “krisis”. Also, not “EVERY” miracle Yeshua did was a judgement against the Pharisees as claimed in this video. Yeshua himself said about raising Lazarus from the dead and healing the blind man that these were to display the glory of God (John 11:4 & John 9:3). I don’t believe you can make the claim every miracle was a judgment against the made up religious system (although some certainly did fly in the face of them), but every miracle did bring glory to God.
I once heard that of the 4 cups of wine which Jews received during the passover meal, that Jesus and the disciples only drank 3, and the 4th was drunk by Jesus on the cross because he completed the ceremony as the passover lamb. But I’m not sure how to justify this interpretation.
Amazing teaching. About the mary thing though the text actualy says "woman, what I have to with you" wich is a judaic expression of independence, Like "so what?" Mary was sayng that the party was over therefore was time to them to go and Jesus was sayng that he wold not leave "my time has not come yet", that is why she said to obey them
Notice also how some miracles he performed, he would pull the person in need in private away from the crowd, which made the healing 10 times more personal for them as well, not just a public amazement. The depths of love in his miracles just amazes me.

It is so complex and deep, and yet easy to understand, which in consideration of the time span of The Old Testament and New Testament that this stuff could not have been made up by human beings! One can look at the many wonders and complexities in The Bible just as one can look at all of creation of its wonders and complexities and ask "how can this be?" @@ludyveronique From the Wikipedia:
The term doxa is an ancient Greek term (δόξα) that comes from the verb dokein (δοκεῖν), meaning 'to appear, to seem, to think, to accept'.[1]
Between the 3rd and 1st centuries BCE, the term picked up an additional meaning when the Biblical Hebrew word for 'glory' (כבוד, kavod) was translated by the Septuagint as doxa.

I’ve wondered what was lost in the past 2,000 years throughout many different cultures and countries.

In them, diakaios krisis are the Greek words for "righteous judgment." Diakaios krisis is never rendered as "glory."
Summarily, "glory" and "righteous judgment" are from completely different Greek words, and equating doxa with "righteous judgment" in John 2:11 is (imho) quite inappropriate and inconsistent with other NT texts.
I did find, however, that he was trained and ordained thru The Way International, a cult that denies the deity of Christ and teaches a works-based righteousness.

Thanks.
Even in modern Greek it means "glory".
This is amazing! Thanks, Michael
Hmm I can't seem to find any translation of DOXA as "judgment" Do you have a reference that I missed?
He does not because there is not. It is translated "glory" and "honor." Clearly we have ideology that presses scripture to suit it.
@@antonioschaupp2047 The question is, where is the Greek word δόξα (doxa) translated as "judgment." Your reference isn't written very clearly, but I assume you mean Acts 2.20, which says:

Doxa means glory, splendor, dignity. Only in exceptionally rare circumstances is it ever "judgements". The Greek word usually used for judgements is epidíkasi. 9/10 it is glory.
I have for a long time wondered how this miracle manifested His glory. You're right in that "doxa" means "glory" more often than it means "judgment" but in this case "judgment" seems to make more/better sense than "glory" IMHO.
I don't like how they make themselves an authority above the KJV
Thayer gives the very first definition as "opinion, judgement." NAS Lexicon is similar, but NAS still translates it "glory" 155 times.
But I'll say this... there are some verses where "judgment" might make for some interesting linear thought. Since in (en) can be "with," changing glory for judgment in Matt. 16:27 might make sense. "For the Son of Man is going to come with the judgment of His Father with His angels, and WILL THEN REPAY EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS."
Doxa is never translated as Judgements

I would have liked a thorough discussion about why you think the Hebrew word "kavod" should be translated to the greek "doxa" sense "judgement" rather than the "doxa" sense "glory". If we look up doxa, it can mean either. But I see the meaning of "kavod" as terrifying or intense "glory". I'm not saying that you're wrong, but your entire interpretation is based on what sense of the word "doxa" was really intended in that verse. There seems to be ample evidence that King James was correct.

King James is not original one.

If you can't see that the Trinity, which is supported by the King James version, is the mixing of poly (3 persons) and monotheism (1 God), then you are as blind as the Pharisees that wanted to stone Jesus for claiming he is God the Father in the flesh. Wake up! Your authorized King James version priests have lied to you. So REPENT and worship the ONE true God, Jesus , who is God the Father who is Holy and Spirit and in the process of time, became a man! Jesus was going to have to be stoned for blasphemy. Why? Well, the Pharisees said why, because Jesus, being a man, claimed to be the one and only God of the Hebrews, the Father! They were so spiritually blind that they didn't even know their God was standing right in front of them, they only say a man! You are just like them. So REPENT and be saved by the mighty name of Jesus, which means: Yahovah (The Father) is salvation! Amen.
I just stumbled upon this video and I love this man and will subscribe... Ventura, CA.
This is so insightful thank you
Amen. Praise the Lord, The God of wonders n miracles.
Excellent explanation
Thank you Michael. We need more bite sized and sharable wisdom from Michael.
An eye opener of Holy Scripture; thank you Bro.' Rood.
Enlightening! Thanks!
Wow !! You look like a real king in this video!!
He's wrong and needs to stop changing what scripture says
Δόξα means "glory" according to every source I can find, not to mention some of the most chanted hymns. "Δόξα Πατρί...", "Δόξα σοι ο Θεός"
... and expressions: "Δόξα το Θεό" (also a song BTW).
I'd like to see a source that translates "δόξα" as "judgement".
Question: the Greek word Dóxan translates to “glory” (δόξαν) - how is it translated to judgements? I would avoid trying to compare English translations and rather look at the original Greek scripture for reference. Blessings
I smiled the whole time you explained
Doxa in the bible is only ever used as judgement in 1 place, 4 Macc. 5:17.
This word doxa (glory) is the same word in Luke 17:18 to give glory to God.
It is almost always used for Glory.
Thats what I came up with. In the greek it says doxan, which is glory. Not sure where he gets this interpretation.
This is amazing... Blessings
Doesn't this story not also speak to the ending of one covenant (the poorer quality wine) and the enacting of a better one (the best wine)?
Yes! The same Yeshua,
The bringer of better hope, Heb 7:19,
The Mediator of a better Covenant ,Heb 8:6,
The establisher of better promises, Heb 8:6,
The One and enough Lamb Of God, the better sacrifice, Heb 9:23..
There are always several layers of meaning and truth...
EXCELLENT WISDOM,THANK YOU.DR.BRYANT LANE.
thankyou, i have been a christain almost 32 years and have often known i just don't understand somthing properly. thankyou for helping me to get it! i have been saying christ was condeming ungodly religous practices for a decade, which made me "presona non gratus", but i just needed to know the truth
Doesn't doxa mean glory?
"Glory" is one of the most common praise words in scripture. In the Hebrew Bible, the concept of glory is expressed with several Hebrew words, including Hod (הוד) and kavod (כָּבוֹד). Later, these original Hebrew Bible concepts for glory were translated in the Christian Testament as the Greek word doxa (δόξα).
Exactly, I always invite new perspective, but to slam a translation that in depth actually is just as right as he’s explaining his perspective, doesn’t make much sense . He makes the KJV sound so wrong but in fact it’s so right !
@@j_speaks_truth2803 the apostle Paul said if someone has a prophecy let him speak and the others judge. We should always go back to scripture to verify a message especially if there's a new interpretation.
Very interesting. I love deep meaning Bible doctrine. Just learning things such as this. Give me joy and cravings for more.,
Doxa means glory. NOWHERE in scripture is it translated judgment or anything like the word. In fact, modern greek still uses the word and it STILL means glory.
Greetings from Chennai, India..Well explained..Thank you so much
Beautiful!!!
Oh GOD santify us with YOUR truth. YOUR word is Truth.
Doxa/Doxan means glory in Greek, right? Then the translation is correct I think. Greek word for 'judgement' is κρίση that's what my limited knowledge
Amen, Excellent thanks for posting this!
The benefactor does not defy the benefactor)
😮Man has no say in the matter of salvation.
So you practice cannibalism, expressly forbidden in Scripture?
If you believe in transubstantiation, know that a few hours later, after taking “holy communion”, you are excreting what remains into your local sewer. Shalom
😂
@olwill1 your talking not of a novel, but of the Word of God and of The Christ . So scrutiny, everything Christ did had multiple meanings to it. Jesus became the Bread of Life, His body poured out like an offering. We drink His precious Blood... Christ instituted this the night He suffered and went into His Passion. And in John 6 Jesus thus speaks. " The man who eats my flesh and drinks my blood enjoys eternal life &... My Blood is true drink" Its beautiful isn't it !
Very insightful. Thanks for sharing.
Wondering your thoughts on the Ethiopian bible containing books the Catholic church extracted.
I read anything pertaining to the scriptures out of my own growing curiosity and faith.
Thank you for sharing your videos.
Which books are you referring to?
@@eklypised the other 15 books in the Ethiopian Bible? Quick search on google and you can find them
Real explanation, making absolute sense.
Strong's Greek: 1391. δόξα (doxa) - 167 Occurrences = Glory
Yes
I hear you and will go in depth with this. You do make sense
Another great lesson. I was gifted with Micheals Feast Of The Lord teachings 30 years ago. That’s when I left main stream Christianity and became part of the remnant of Messianic Christians 2000 years ago♥️.
Do you think it is "great" to put down the KJV Bible so much? Is that what the Holy Spirit would do?
@@earlysda Why would the Holy Spirit protect the KJV specifically? Is it holier than the other versions?
@@tomchapman1092 tom, The Holy Spirit works thru humans. Some humans are vessels for the Holy Spirit to work thru, while others aren't.
.
No, the KJV is not "holier" than other versions. However, it is one of the most faithful translations of the original Bible that we have in the English language.
.
Personally, I believe the NKJV is even better, and the ALT (New Testament) is absolutely the best in English.
Very interesting discussion.
Doxa is glory!
Spot on, you have a good discerning spirit, the word doxa in the Bible is used for Glory 99% of the time
Thank you for your teaching. However, doxa means glory. How do you get judgement from this term?
I think in the original Greek doxa means, opinion, judgement or view. I think Yeshua was expressing an opinion or passing judgement on the event.
Just as other words get used in new ways their meaning changes over time. Later it came to mean splendor, brightness, honor, praise, glory, etc. I don't like seeing words get treated this way. It confuses and obfuscates things. Over time the original meaning gets lost.
@@TH-1207I'd be interested to see that, because the same word and variation is used in John 17:5, "And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory (doxa) that I had with you before the world existed."
@thogevoll the "judgment" in the original meaning seems to be referring to a viewpoint, not judgment being brought on someone.
@@pfreemantz I haven't found that in any Greek references of the word. I'd love to know the source.
I LOVE it!!!!
Great contact thank you very much
The word “Doxa” does in fact mean glory. The only time “doxa” was translated as “judgement” in any religious writings was in the book 4 Maccabees.
Wow, deep spiritual insight. Well done.
I always thought it was interesting that the fist miracle had to do with wine and it was soured, wine that was given Jesus on the cross.
I once heard that of the 4 cups of wine which Jews received during the passover meal, that Jesus and the disciples only drank 3, and the 4th was drunk by Jesus on the cross because he completed the ceremony as the passover lamb. But I’m not sure how to justify this interpretation.
Thanks this is great for gaining a more complete knowledge
I looked at my Hebrew text…. How did I miss this? Thank you!
