OMG! Mine is #16 and I got a half Norse Blue with Sandstone (at 13:16 of the video) on the bottom yesterday! I was SO EXCITED to receive this! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!! Thanks also for the JTP Sticker! I felt like I got a gift from a CELEBRITY and am using the cup right now! I am so proud of what you are doing, Jon and am thrilled to have been a small part of it! Now I'll send you one of mine!
@@robertcole1098 NO DOUBT ABOUT IT BOB! I am very proud of it and Jon. It's not just a beautiful mug, it's what and who it represents. It's about working hard, experimenting, reaching out, being enthusiastic, adventurous, willing and just plain FUN! That's Jon and that is what this mug is all about! Worth so much more than the funds I donated for his project! I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
Hi. Love your videos and your beautiful glazes. ........ in our studio we put the 5 gallon glaze buckets on kids scooter boards to make it easier to move the glaze buckets around the studio. :)
I ordered Mayco glazes - thanks to you! - over the weekend and they arrive on Wednesday. Soooo stoked to try them! As always, thanks Jon, for sharing your great attitude, energy, and artistry with us all! Your mugs look sweet!
I'm gawking at these amazing mugs!! If I'd be making them, I swear, I would lose myself in the process and my house would be full of glazed stuff.. Very impressive!
Thank you so much Jon! I love love love my mug (#3), it’s so beautiful!! Aaaghh!! Definitely worth the wait and I’m glad the Kickstarter was a success. The studio looks amazing! Congratulations! - Vilma
Wow 👏👏👏👏! I'm really impressed and as a beginner I hope and pray to become as good as you are in pottery! Love the shades of blue that come from the glaze combos! Fantastic work!!! I wonder if you could make a Bonsai pot one day, I keep imagening one with sandstone under the Norse blue...
You should try that bright lime green under Blue Surf. Like the bright green around the top of a mug with the blue surf all over. (Like the sandstone under Norse blue that you had in this video)
I am excited about trying Norse Blue over Macadamia. It looks like on the sample online it would be almost an ombré effect into that lighter color, but with no speckles. If you have that glaze, please check it out and try it for us?
When you were taking the glazed things into the kiln on a board I thought then..."Why doesn't he use a cart?" Make one, buy one. Simple cart with a high edge to help keep items from being bumped off the edge. Those casters that allow high maneuverability. I'm sure you would find it indispensable. Lovin' the blues too. Saw a red that made me gasp. Does Mayco glazes do a golden yellow? This is so fun to watch.
Just great stuff Jon, love that Sandstone glaze with the blues. Question: how high do you throw your mugs on the wheel? Harry Potter mug! Wow! You are going to get so many orders for them! Ha ha. The new colours are great but not a fan of that bilious green 😝. Still love the canyon sky's 😊. Cheers Bob 🇬🇧
Hey John, the half blue half sandstone with a little overlap mug. Is that a speckled clay body? I see speckles under the Norse Blue. Just got back from American Ceramic Supply in Fort Worth.
I want the insides of my mugs to be pure white. Can I glaze the insides, let them dry, and put wax resister over the insides? That should keep other glazes from adhering, correct? I’m a newbie, unintentionally messy.
Nice video! It is awesome to see the different steps and methods to your glazing process. The Mayco link in your description didn't work for me so I think it might be wrong.
Can someone please explain how they are getting from grey Beton to colorful blue tie dye shiny? They never show this step. Does that all happen in the machine? I just don’t understand
All of those glazes are awesome! I have bought buttercream glaze from Continental clay but I really can't afford it I'm disabled and I don't really have a paycheck anymore trying to live on disability is horrifying. I can't do Pottery enough to start a business to get off of disability because I'm just not well enough I go to three days without being able to throw which drives me crazy because I want to 24/7! If I could find a way to get a discount on shipping from them guys I would buy a lot more because they seem to have really good glazes even their house glazes are awesome
But hey man you know what might really help you I notice you do a lot of like the inside matching the upside down dip so in other words the inside one color and then from the lip down halfway will be one color. Well there's a really easy way to do that fast I mean really super fast without pouring. All you got to do is dunk upside down your cup and put it on a little bit of an angle so some glaze goes in with it you know what I mean. And then is you coming up jerk it up but don't pull it all the way out of the glazed and you'll get a full mug almost full of glazed and then you just well it's still underneath and the surface tension hasn't broken just twirl the Muggle in a little coat the entire inside of the cup. I'm sure there are videos showing that because I can't remember where I learned it but it's a good chance it was on a video. You can glaze a mug so fast it saves so much work especially for you doing so many. I'll try and explain it again. So do your first dunk with an upside-down mug tilted a little so some of the glaze goes up inside and then straighten it out is you push it down to where you want the glaze to be like halfway Jerk it up but stop before it comes out a huge bubble of glaze will go inside the mug and then just shake it around in circles and it'll swirl coat the inside it works absolutely flawlessly. And once in awhile I will get a tiny spot that isn't coded I mean maybe one out of 10 it all I do is score of the drop into the bottom swirl it around and set the cup down. I can literally glaze a cop like that in honestly lesson 3 or 4 seconds
I love your videos and your pieces. But I have noticed lately, you bring things very close to the camera and by the time it zooms in to focus you move it back. Kind of makes me a little motion sick. But I Can't. Stop. Watching LOL!

Call the blue surf/sandstone half and half “bluebird day”
Nothing beats skiing on a bluebird day out west.

Great video. May I ask, of it is possible to get those dripping effect if I apply the glazes with brushes?
