It actually makes sense, although maybe it's not on purpose. The tune isn't instantly recognizable as an arrangement of The Dream Valley of Glendaruel until the second harmony player kicks in, and then there is a sudden "aha" moment as you realize what the arranger has been up to this whole time! Prior to that, the hornpipe version stands on its own, and is clearly audible. If I was setting this in a band, I would have quite a few folks on that second harmony to make sure it comes through. I'm sure there are a few other tricks you could add if it were medley-bound. Would be a sweet closer.
It's a fantastic arrangement.
Where can i get the sheet?
Quality vid
Is sheet music of this available somwhere?
I'd love this arrangement if you got the music written mate
Me too
Are all the insets you also? Nice fingerwork.
Alasdair Henderson is in the centre, Cameron Drummond either side.
In which publishing book I can find the music sheets of the tune please?
Hi there, this is not published in a book. It is Andrew Douglas's arrangement of the 3/4 March.
This is Andrew’s. Not published yet. I would reach out directly through Piper’s Dojo
Very nice piece of music. Its just sad you turn on too much volume on the harmonies so the melodie gets lost in the mix..
