This audio drama is a bonus item for the ChisaTaki Wedding Dress Tapestry that was sold at Aniplex booth during Comiket 101.
The illustration was drawn by the chief animation director Yamamoto Yumiko; the script was written by director Adachi Shingo himself.
(So yes, it's canon!)

@@zerofox9900 I am fully aware of that (though I wouldn't call LR yuri bait, it's yuri subtext if you ask me). It's just that the release of this voice drama and the associated merch line is considered to be Chisato and Takina's symbolic wedding.

@@orly780 Bait used to be believable, but I will still speak on the topic:
1. Most ChisaTaki shippers, including me, are aware the ship is not canon and are simply hoping that it becomes canon in the animated LR continuation that is currently in the works.
2. We only ship for fun and the ship is unproblematic, so I don't see any good reason for attacking people over it. In fact, making fun of people for harmless fun is what I would call cringe, and your reply gives yhou the aura of a 12-year-old who plays too much Call of Duty.

Why I feel like this is a sneak peak of one of the scenes in season 2?
1:30 - 1:40 this part made me laugh so hard but i tried everything not to because it was 2am and everyone was sleeping
Takina is so sheltered, I actually kinda feel bad considering the implications of what it means to be a Lycoris.
Yeeeah if you ask me, the rare Lycoris that manage to make it to retirement (which probably happens at the age of ~20 I think?) probably end up really lonely due to not being taught how to navigate social relationships... Maybe, MAYBE occasionally partners/squad teammates keep in touch after retirement, or a couple that formed during their years at DA stays together (because there's no way in hell that Lycoris don't date at all). But other than that, those girls are likely really unprepared for living in the outside world as ordinary women and members of society. DA knows that most Lycoris die before adulthood, so they don't bother preparing any of them for it. Not even the ones that make it in the end. I tend to joke that the "l" in "Lycoris" stands for "lesbian", but it looks like what it really stands for is "lonely"...
Thank goodness Takina has Chisato, who can help her figure things out.

Chisato and Takina now are a married couple until they say otherwise.

@@Dreamcaster560 yeah but from a certain standpoint from common anime tropes. It often happens that the characters fight and hook up. I think people have just come to expect said writing in all shows or something. 🤷♀️
