Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- This update shows the progress of the underpass and curve area scenery. The land forms were completed, base scenery installed and the scenic detailing is well underway. The road was completed, painted, striped and weathered.
We will be moving to an every two week update schedule now that work and the improving weather will take away from our "layout time". But we will keep working on the layout and posting updates!

looking good. It's taking shape.
Scenery looks fantastic. The bare earth from erosion looks great. The trails look great as well. Your use of the mats is great.
The backdrop blends REALLY well with the foreground. Nice work! You are an excellent student of the prototype.

Fantastic, the way the scene is coming out. Great use of the different ground cover materials.
GREAT JOB Mr. Bennett!!!! I can't tell where the layout ends and the backdrop begins! Nice color texture fade and mix... As far as I am concerned, you are a master sir! Short or long vids, keep them coming!
From time to time I go to this video for inspiration.
Steve. Amazing Work Sir!!
Love your scenery work. Impressive use of variety of products.
Now that you have incorporated some bare spots the whole scenery really looks realistic. It is looking good.
I chipped a tooth when I hit a bump on a Pennsylvania road about eleven years ago... Your roads are no exaggeration.
It's looking awesome, can't wait to see a train passing by when viewed from the road:)
I was thinking that one of those roadside produce stands would look great on the foreground end of that field. You could have a few cars parked around it with people shopping, etc. Those things are everywhere in PA - even right on the edge of Philly, Great work!
I thought the tunnel for the road way looked great before I saw the picture of the proto type , great job , and looks like many I have seen in real ,, post videos when you are happy enough to post , but around 10 to 15 mins is a great length for a video , thanks for the update , road looks good ,
I like the graffitis on the white paint over to cover the graffitis that were there before. Such attentions to details. Edit: I think I like the dioramas more than the trains themselves.
Nice job. You are doing great making that tunnel look like the proto type.
Will
Great update , looking real good
Cheers Glynn
I definitely love watching the updates and stuff, I'm really really impressed with your layout, progress, love, and detail in the hobby! I was wondering if you could Mabey do a 10-15 minute video of trains running on the track? I would enjoy that! Either way love it!
Great update as always! I am off to the basement inspired to do some more work on mine.
Excellent scene... For the poles I use the wood from Walmart or hobby lobby i can't remember the name but there little thicker and longer like the old school box of stick matches . The work great painted white or stained
man...all I can say is awesome stuff...been watching this build from the beginning like I did another now ex railroader...please don't go flymanjg on us and quit...your layout is excellent good sir...learning allot from you...thank you...
Can you do a train runby video? I just love when you run your trains on your layout. Its cool!
looks great!
Great overpass :)
Please don't post a video every two weeks. if you can post once a week that would be great. i really look forward to seeing the progress even if it is not much. I would love to see a train pass thru at the end of the video as well. it just ties every thing together. you really are an artist. Thanks for sharing
wow you guys are doing great work!!!! I didn't know you guys lived in PA? Are you guys Eagles or Steelers fans?
Your scenery work is awesome!!! Keep up the great work!!!
+model railer Interestingly, neither! I am a Dolphins fan, Steve isn't really into football but sort of likes the Packers, and my youngest son is a Cardinals fan. Up here is definitely Steelers country, so we stay low key...
+Rob Bennett when I drove semi I took my truck to Lambeau Field & got some nice pictures of it in front of the Atrium. got some funny looks when I pulled in & started cleaning it up for the pictures. lol
Rob Bennett PACKERS!!! If I hadn't subbed already I would RIGHT.
NOW!!!!
Not bad progress!
You should do a layout Tour please
Looks really good. Amazing what you can do with foam eh? I have built a few structures and sold them on ebay for a lot more than I paid for them and all I used was printed paper, styrene and odds and ends in my parts bin. Most layouts forget the details, everyone thinks big is better, it isn't. Look up Carendt.com and search for a 2'x4' layout, built by a professor in Australia I think. He did New York at 3am. It is amazing. Right down to the lighting and the dew he got it right. Not only that but it features a corner of the Bush terminal building and the tracks go under the edge of the building as in the prototype. Really great stuff and in a tiny space.
all way put in road work in some area on yr highway or side road as that cover up as looking great job do thereon yr video
Hey Stephen how do you store all your rolling stock ?
LOL about the Pennsylvania roads!!! cant speak for the whole state, but Erie definitely has some roads that do actually look that bad! I love the idea of patched holes, if you wanted to, you could literally make a scene of it, using road crew figures, state highway trucks, and construction cones to direct traffic, and have one lane of the road blocked off like they do in real life!
I wonder if some of the hwy depts learned to pave roads from the Chicago area road crews. lol
What lengths of static grass did you use?
+TheSteamKing We used 4mm and 6mm, from Silflor.
Hey Stephen you could use this stuff here for signs. Its just plain C channel, its the closest thing I know of to U Strut. www.modeltrainstuff.com/Plastruct-CFS-3-Fineline-Styrene-Channel-3-32-p/pls-90532.htm
Take a look at "highwaysnbiways.com" for your road stripes.
Are you financially wealthy ?
