Thank you for this review. I was stuck between this and a T Cross and I'm glad I watched. Definitely leaning towards the Seltos because for this price I need leather seats and all the trimmings without having to pay extra.

Yeah the power figures are not impressive but it's a good package overall. The wireless connectivity for Apple Car Play and Android Auto is a really nice touch. As for the pricing, all I can say is that car manufacturers really like to set their prices at R500 000. R500 000 is the new R200 000😭

Yeah, Kia is no longer the brand we ran to because VW is abusing us with their pricing. Anyways, I have test driven this car, the manual variant. It was actually punchy enough. The sales consultant told me the auto variant was not great.
Wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play are great but they will disconnect on you in critical moment and I feel a lot of people are not talking about this.
@@tebohomakibile3385115 horsepower and 250 nm Torque with manual transmission is more than enough in India. In india we have Force Gurkha offroader SUV with 89 horse power and 260 nm torque only for a car of 2400 kg kerb weight
@@tebohomakibile3385 one thing am sure of is that the suspension is not great but it gets the job done and the auto variant is actually not that bad although it can be a bit laggy at times but.I know I don't have to plan overtakes with my 145hp +/- oh and the emergency braking is the best because I almost had an accident with a child who ran across the street and the hazards came on and it actually has abs☺😊

I'd like for you to review the Polo and the Hyundai 1.0T variant, so you can do a test of the most value for money small hatch by comparing it to the Renault Clio. As for the Kia's, get the Sportage next. 👍🏿

1500 cc diesel engine with 250 nm Torque and 115 horsepower for its kerb weight of 1350 kg is more than enough. It touches 0-100 kmph in 10 seconds so what else do you want ? Apart from that these hyundai-KIA CRDi engines are most refined engines. May be you are judging because you have driven automatic gearbox variant but trust me i have manual gearbox variant and its very punchy and easily you can cruise at 140-160 kmph speed

I was behind one of these the other day and the smoke coming out of the tailpipe in slow moving traffic was on par with a old truck, it almost sounded like one too. Also for that price youre not getting push button start? Really? This thing is overpriced for what it has. To top is off resale values are going to be crap because there is a newer version to this and a newer one being tested in Korea and Canada as we speak.

The model I have is actually 145hp and yes in SA so maybe mine is a completely different model but 115hp for an SUV is a scam I will just confirm with my dealer that its 145hp or maybe its the diesel or incorrect information I because even on their websites it is more then 86 kW
So may you please confirm if its really 86kw or maybe its because mine is a petrol I don't know
@R500K it has no front parking sensors and LED headlights.

This car is similar to the new Sportage, both cars are big with underpowered engines.
Hopefully il get to review the new Sportage soon , but this Seltos definitely needs more power.

And the maintenance is also not that great because I had a a little accident with another car and I had scratchs. The paint was scraped but the car was still in good shape and it had no bumps at all but my insurance had to payout R7000 for the repair and maybe it was the reviewing of the car because they had to strip the car to check for internal damages on top of that I had to pay an access of R5000 😭😭 it was not an easy month.time it was only 3weeks old but the service plan is perfect

Looks fine but not for the price, I’d rather get a low mileage VW T-CROSS 1.5 TSI with 110KW or a HYUNDAI KONA 1.6 TGDI with 146KW. 🙌🏽

Last week you were complaining about the Renault Captur being R500K but you have mo problem with the Kia being R506K? Do you not think the Captur is worth it?
The previous generation Captur was considerably cheaper than the new model so a lot of people weren’t expecting the new model to be priced at 500K which is why I brought it up.
With the Seltos it’s been on the market for some time which is why I asked viewers what they think of the pricing during the review or maybe you want me to say “ this car is expensive “ on every single review I do ? It would get boring and besides people who watch car reviews are not ignorant , they can see a car is pricy without always being told.

No , reason being I’m big on performance so I prefer cars with a bit more power but if you’re a buyer interested in fuel efficient suv for the family then it’s worth considering.
