Thank you for the real test! I almost bought this recorder on the considerent that is Sony and must be better than similar recorders. Now i know that it is not the case.
Hey man !! Nice review!! One question!! My use is just for the live gigs that we perform , we need to have a recording from the mixer . Is it good for that ?? Any settings for that !!
This is probably not the best option for that. You’re paying here for specific ‘dictaphone’ features. You’d be better to search out a recorder with digital or balanced XLR in to take from the desk and definitely manual input levels.
At 5:15 there is clipping, have you figured out how to avoid that? I just got mine and I'm encountering a major clipping problem with it, I tend to speak very loud (you can hear that in the videos on my channel, lol.) I've experimented with various positioning of the external microphone (Shure MVL) and it makes no difference, the only way to reduce the clipping is setting the ext-in to the voice-low setting, but that is annoying to always need to increase the levels later in post-production.
Dictaphones are a dedicated device where phones are now trying to be cameras, phones, recorders, calculators and everything else under the sun....not a good idea unless you can FULLY back it up. Also, there are times I want to make notes for myself or attend a lecture and want to free up my smartphone to use should it be needed. :) P.S. Good testing but ultimately this is a dictaphone and not a concert or music session recorder.
Quality wise, no. Phones generally do a great job. A device like this gives you an independent dedicated recorder which can be a massive benefit to some.
I've never used it but it's getting into the territory of a basic field recorder rather than a dictaphone. It's over twice the price and offers 96K recording and adjustable stereo mics for A-B and X-Y configuration. I imagine it doesn't have the file organisation options of dictaphone because these wouldn't be needed on a field recorder (reviewing a few seconds etc.). The UX570 is decent but I would hope this is better!
I'd say the Zoom would make life easier as you have full manual level control and it probably sounds better too. You could do the job with a recorder like this but the settings are a bit restrictive.
hello. Anyone who has this device. Could you tell me how is the sound quality as an mp3 music player? does it have the same quality as a walkman mp3 player?
hola. alguien que tenga este dispositivo. podria decirme que tal es la calidad de sonido como reproductor de musica mp3? tiene la misma calidad que un reproductor mp3 walkman?

Extremely useful. Thank you so much for taking the time to doing this!
Thanks, bro, the best review I watched about sony 570.
Excellent product review mate

Wow, the MP3 has such noticeable artifacts and weird compression compared to the much better WAV
Awesome video. But for a newbie like me, can anyone recommend a god audio setting that you really cannot go wrong with when using a Lav Mic?
Is it suitable for loud rock concerts?

FYI, I had a Sony UX560 before upgrading to the Sony UX570, and the 560 never had any such clipping problems, but had other sound-quality issues.
got mine on the way! going to be walking around the jungle with lav mic.
Compare with sony icd ux560. Please
ive had both. they are essentially identical in form and function
@M.C. Wynn UX570 is a huge difference. A way better. Not even close

how is the stereo line in ?
@TDCatTech
In the line in mode, can you hook it to a cellphone and record *both sides* of the conversation.??
Thank you.
Whatever comes out of the headphone jack on your phone is what this will record.
I have Boya-M1 ...And Record With Phone application called RecForge ,,.. So If I Bought Sony Recorder is there any much difference??
Quality wise, no. Phones generally do a great job. A device like this gives you an independent dedicated recorder which can be a massive benefit to some.
I just saw your channel. Do you know how this compares to the Sony PCM-A10?

Is there any way to isolate the voice on the recording thar had done airy background noise after you've recorded the event?
@TDCatTech Who has the best sound quality to record university lectures, this or the Sony ICD-TX650?
The 650 is very convenient but the 570 definitely wins in both sound quality and features.
@@tdcattech Sony ICD-TX650 is more expensive actually...
@@tdcattech You must have confused the icd-tx650 with the icd-ux560
Cool
Would this be good for a simple podcast ? Or is the zoom h4n better for that

@@tdcattech thanks !
Can it record to LAV and Internal Mic's simultaneously as a backup?
No. One or the other. As soon as you plug in a device, it detects it and gives you the option of selecting mic or line in. Internal mics are disabled.
You can put to USB Bluetooth device that can connect microphone & headphones right? :)

Is it possible to record if the audio recorder is inside a pocket?
Recording with my Lav mic is only one channel. is that normal?
Could well be. Mic audio recorded into a stereo track would often be left channel only.
@@tdcattech thank you for the response. Does that happen to you with an external mic as well?
Hi is this good for class lectures ?
Very good. I use mine for my lectures.
Os it 560 or 570?
UX570. I know, I messed that up when recording this. 🙂
I kept hearing UX 560….I think he meant to say 570
what kind of lav mic are you using bc i'm having problems getting the right one
Buy the cheap one from Sony. It is worth 20 USD and it works like a charm.
