You forgot the Luftwaffe being a fleet of “cropdusters”. Also happily supporting Polish agriculture.

German efficiency in a nutshell: Bending rules and finding loopholes whenever possible
As long as the Finanz Amt doesn't find out.
An upside would be that the laws in germany are pretty loophole proof
Like most countries, not surprised.

USA couple years later: ok japan this bomb right here makes giant mushrooms, hope you like it
An interesting fact is that the 100,000 soldiers that the treaty limited to having were converted to skilled and professional officers, so that when they had a huge army, they also had a lot of leaders and generals ready
Indeed. I've read somewhere that all soldiers were trained to carry on their duties and the duties of two ranks above, in case a rapid expansion of the army was needed.
También leí que después de la rendición en ww1,reformaron su ejército para que solo los más capaces y hábiles se quedarán enlistados para que más tarde asuman el mando al agrandarse el ejército
@@gggvvvjggbgg4517❤
And the most proficient and successful trainee are also given promotion to train new soldier when the time comes to rearm their military.
These officers also gain further more experience from fighting German Socialist, border conflicts in Eastern Europe as militia and volunteer, Spanish Civil War as a formal combatant.
That was very interesting, since the treaty stipulated that the German army could only have 4,000 officers. 😅
The Allies also banned Germany from producing Rifles like the Kar98 but the allies allowed germany to produce Carbines for "self-defense", so Germany decided to "rename" the kar98 into sounding more like a Carbine, and making them a bit smaller.
The Kar98 "kurtz".
Kar98 is exactly the name they used to exploit the treaty.
They changed it from "Gewehr 98" to "Karabiner (Carbine) 98"
Not only is the name changed, the gun itself is also got upgrade and known internally as Kar98/34
so technically, the allies managed to give Germany the allowance to make rifles, except smaller, and therefore more easy to build
@@horizoner2361 Not really, because the carbines were officially meant for security forces (incl. police!) and export. The weapon itself was the same length with some modifications to sights and so on.
And unlike other commenters are suggesting, it was NOT the K98k. By 1935 Germany was openly rearming, so there was no need to conceal true intentions anymore. The actual rifles are 1923 Karabiner 98b and 1924 Standardmodell, though latter only started production in 1930s.
No wonder why they are shorter in WW2 than in WW1
Apparently, the Soviet Union also decided to send police officers in tractors to help the polish farming industry! How kind of both the Germans and the soviets!
They are the kindest persons
France and Britain were not so happy that Poland got all the support, so they decided to have Germany give them some support after the Belilux get's some surprise relief
And then ussr and germany started to know who's help is most helpest
Germany alsao give office police to help the france and ussr too. What a kind country
Except the were actually tractors and farmers when it came to the Soviets
As a German I can confirm that we use police officers as soldiers, Naval ships as fishing boats and Panzers as tractors for agriculture.
We also use aircraft as crop dusters and halftracks as commerce trucks

@@Paal2005eh. Sure germany had to pay reparations but the hyperinflation was to a large degree goverment made in order to give them a better lever in renegotiating the treaty. It simply did not work very well and as a side effect helped the rise of various extremist elements
Actually they did not need any spare parts for their tanks. They only got some oil even after the British embargo mostly through Spain until 1943. GM also taught them how to make Blitz trucks but in reality most of their logistics was through horses. I think Curtis Hawk might have influence Stuka seeing how Göring bought some for Udet but that was hardly a crime since Soviet Union also bought a lot of stuff from the west like the Vickers tank for instance that was later developed for T26.

Armament may look superior at first, but the low number of guns made getting enough hits in difficult, and the broadside weight per minute (so basically the damage per second) was routhly equivalent to heavily armed heavy cruisers like the japanese Takao class. The "pocket battleships" were nowhere close to being an actual battleship, not nearly strong enough to win against old WW1 era battleships.
0:55 Just wanted to mention that the Anglo-German naval agreement allowed Germany enough tonnage for ~4-5 battleships and other warship types, meaning they didn't had to hide the existence of the Scharnhorsts and Bismarck classes. It worked brilliantly but because we became so good at finding loopholes, our bureaucracy has become a nightmare. Since germans are uniquely talented in finding loopholes and being as efficient as possible, the legislation had to become so nuanced that the tiniest thing possible now tends to need hours of worktime.
A prime example of this is the bundeswehr, where it was not unheard of to wait multiple weeks for one pair of new socks.
And it also the birth of many words, that give nightmares to people learning german such as: "Ettikitierungskontrollbuchüberprüfungsgesetz"

Germany actually named its tanks "Großtraktor" (large tractor in English) during the pre-WW2 period. After (funi mustache man) took over, this was completely disregarded and Germany just started producing more and more battle tanks
