    USA te porte eshe ei easy labour er concept ta bhishon bhabe bujhechhi.. phuchka theke shuru kore shob kichhu jokhon nije baniye kheyechhi, tokhon bujhechhi Kolkatar manush koto easily shob khabar peye jay dokane koto kom daam e, because of the cheap labour available. Thank you for discussing this, it needs to be discussed.

    আমি বাংলাদেশের মেয়ে। এখন কানাডাতে থাকি।আপনাদের রান্না আমার ভীষণ ভালো লাগে। সবগুলো পর্ব আমি দেখেছি। ইলিশ মাছের কথা আপনাদের মুখে শুনে দেশের কথা মনে পড়ছে। বরিশালের ইলিশ অতুলনীয়। বাবা কখনো এক হালির কমে ইলিশ কিনত না। এমন ও হত সারা বছর খাওয়ার জন্য ফ্রিজে ডজন খানেক মাছ প্রজার্ভ থাকত।

    I am actually quite emotional after watching this episode. Kochu is very close to my heart. I love every kochu dish including kochu sidho. Kochubata being the favourite

    What an excellent, excellent episode! These are the conversations we need to have, and not just "omuk jaaygar fish fry ta tomuk cabin er moto banaate pare ni". Wouldn't have known about the brilliant person that Koyel Roy Nandi is if it hadn't been for "Rannaghore ke?" Also made me ask why we are never really curious about the people behind our favourite dishes at restaurants, and rarely ever know about chefs other than those who come on TV or contribute recipes to magazines. As usual, looking forward to the next episode.

    Story Time: I met Team BongEats recently and it was a pleasure. I wish we could’ve had a longer chat but it was a moment. My mother (a big fan of the channel) was over the moon when she heard this.

    Ei maan kochu diye torkari banano jay. Mangshor prep er moto ranna. Amar barite kochu is a usual ingredient. Anytime khawa hoy. Begun bhaja types gol kore kete chal এর gurir batter e dubiye bhaja with patla musuri dal and lebu tastes heavenly.

    কোয়েল কিন্তু তিনটে পদেই অল্প অল্প চিনি দিয়েছে। এই যে ঘটি বাঙালের বাইনারিতে, সব রান্নায় চিনি দেওয়ার ঘটিদের যে বদনাম, তার কিছুটা অবসান হলো কিন্তু। দারুণ ব্যাপার। কচুর মতো একটা সহজলভ্য সবজি, বানানো কী খুব ঝক্কির! নয় বোধহয়। খুব ভাল লাগলো, প্রতিবারের মতো। আলগা গড়িয়ে যাওয়া ফ্রেম বেয়ে সহজিয়া রান্নাঘরের গন্ধ নাকে এলো। তবে, কচুর পাতুরিটা ঠিক কেন পাতুরি বলবো?

    My favourites all in one frame ... Enjoyed every bit. Kumro, kochu, sheem, borboti, even kochi bamboo shoot, erokom Nara amra kori bari te. Thanks to my Bangladeshi lineage. Khub enjoy korlam ei particular shoot ta. Would love to see Koyel more on the show ❤️

    This was a stupendous episode. Would you ever invite a stranger but a huge fan to one of your lunches. I promise to cook what i can lol. Also I do think folks would and should want to eat food like this in restaurants. In DC, Rasika, for example, showcases regional cuisine including a simple modified Bengali macher jhol and also what they call Kolkata chicken curry. I also so respect your commitment to thinking about labor and better wages for those who cook and those who have cooked without due acknowledgement, Thank you.

    Loved Koyel's effort and her cooking. Many old recipes are disappearing even from home kitchens. Bong Eats bring them back and it's a feast for my eyes. People may not try out such recipes at restaurants a-la-carte but chefs can think about including such authentic and nostalgic recipes in buffet as "Gram Banglar Shaad" or "Thakur barir ranna" for instance.

    আমার খুব ছোট্ট বেলার এক বন্ধু আমাকে বলেছিল যে যদি প্রাঞ্জল ভাবে রান্না কোনো UA-cam চ্যানেল শেখায়, তবে তা Bong Eats. তবে থেকে দেখছি .জানি না কতটা শিখতে পারছি. তবে আজ আপনাদের আলু পরোটা রেসিপি টা try করলাম. It was an excellent endeavour and relished by my whole family. অনেক ধন্যবাদ.

    very interesting episode. the discussions are again, the cornerstone. kochu is not a well or widely accepted ingredient in Bengali households, and I would say there is a great divide between families who can go to any extent to savour this amazing ingredient, and others who would have it once in a while (or dare to) during the entire year. Of course, "bangals" tend to have the edge on the variety (imho) of cuisine, this ingredient that grows in plenty in this moist land must be leveraged to an elite ingredient.

    Thank you for this wonderful video and the priceless conversation around authencity, value of the food we consume on a daily basis which are exotic in the real sense. I have grown up loving to eat kochu Bata and kochu nara… I remember being super excited about lunch scenes every time Ma made kochu Bata/ kochu nara/ kochur loti with shutki maach… really appreciate all the effort
