    You passed by the house I grew up in.. pace is becoming pretty crowded they have built a lot of neighborhoods and stores etc, but it’s a safe place with the best schools in the area! You do a great job at describing the places you drive through pretty spot on!

    I live here (in pensacola) but am super familiar with Santa Rosa. This area has grown tremendously In the last 20 years. It is still somewhat affordable, but the cost of living has skyrocketed in the last few years due to the boom of people moving here because of many things. Mainly Navy Federal branch in Pcola, but a lot more people are finding out about this place, and when I was a kid Pace was a sleepy small town, and the terrible traffic was nonexistent.

    Hey there, nice vid of Pace. As a northerner (if that counts) I can give you some insight to the northern mentality. I moved here at 16 years old from the Chicago suburbs. It wasnt by choice, went to Choctawhatchee highschool in Fort Walton Beach. I would say about 80 percent of the students were not from there but were the kids of parents in the military, Eglin airforce base and Hurlburt were nearby. The others were from various Southern states from Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and a handfull from Tennessee etc. I was literally the only "Northern" kid there.
    I had moved around to Navarre and later Pensacola in 2013, used to work in Milton for two large employers that would use pace to get to pensacola or people coming from Navarre via hwy 87.
    In Pensacola and Navarre yes there are more recent transplant northerners but I have never seen them try to fit in or immitate southerners. I think the newer transplants tend to not like the way things are and pushing for more changes which can anger the older southern population. Ironically the younger (20-35) southern population outside of the church groups tend to be far more liberal which is quite bizarre because at my workplace, many wanted the things the north has including reforming many of the more conservative laws.
    The northerners here are mainly from New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, we have many from New York and yes can tell who sticks out driving, its either the young ricer in an older honda civic with a loud muffler or the Texas drivers which probably arent really from Texas but driving a rental car.
    I am surprised you mentioned a Tampa vibe. When I went down there, Tampa area had more of an urban feel but very rundown but this was around 2008 and 2009 when the economy was falling apart.

    I'm enjoying this video. We moved from Pittsburgh to Pace in 2020 after looking at other parts of the state. It did make sense. But before anyone moves here, they need to seriously look at the pay scale and housing. Even professional positions pay significantly less than other markets. Many attorney positions here pay around $50K, which is a common salary for legal secretaries and paralegals up North. It's a tradeoff - we hated snow and love the sun and beach! But buyer beware.

    • @FLORIDAHOODVLOGS
      @FLORIDAHOODVLOGS  2 роки тому +1

      now imagine this, PACE has the best pay vs cost of living for the whole state.. it only gets worst in other parts

    Interesting that you should be covering Pace. I am looking at areas for a retirement homestead so have been looking at rural areas of Northern Alabama (north of Birmingham), Northern Arkansas, and North East Tennessee. I was also looking at the area around Pace. So I wonder if you have any info on the rural areas near Pace (e.g. to the north of the town) and how it might compare to areas like Blount county Alabama.

    • @FLORIDAHOODVLOGS

    Hey guys u know I ❤️ your channel already but can u do me a favor if possible Katy turn the camera more to the side while u guys are driving around not only focusing on the traffic but the houses and retailers coming in to the state since we have the best Governor in the nation. I love Florida and I love to see those Old Southern homes I know u have shown some in other videos but I which the camera was not focus on the front view so much but the side of the property’s. I remember riding thru Santa Rosa back in 2006 by these waterfront homes they looked like Plantation homes they were gorgeous. Frankly, that is the scenic thing I love to watch. Overall your channel is awesome so keep doing what your doing! Oh keep away from those New York New Jersey & northern drivers they think they own the roads they are horrible! One was driving thru a one way street coming straight at me the other day it’s really scary lately driving around the city!
