I have watched and watched this video over and over since its original posting, bc for the last 5 years. I’ve been caring for my father who had dementia, and I had to move into his home. So there was no room and certainly no time for me to craft for yearsssss! Covid hit, and I couldn’t craft. I had none of my stuff and no where to put it. He passed in November, and although I know he’s no longer suffering, I haven’t yet had the full want to start paper crafting again. So I went thru my favorite videos and watched this again! And I’m dying to find fabric like that. Bc I think it’s William Morris (or looks a lot like WM) and I have a whole kit that will go perfect with that. But I can’t find fabric online. And I can’t get to a craft store so I have to buy my crafting stuff online. I wonder if I could find something similar to it on Amazon.
No idea where these older comments keep coming from rose, i rekon you've probably make the journal and used it by now. Here's some retrospective good luck love😁🤗💜🤞
Thank you for sharing this technique! I bought the bond but was not sure how to use it. It’s actually very easy and I do have an iron and ironing board!! 🤣🤣
You are so welcome Claudia. I love the stuff for covers and have been know to use it for backing tags when i need to make alot at once. 😅 Having the ironing board is a bonus. My neighbour moved three years ago and we're still friends, so she didn't hold it against me😊🤗💜
Thank you for the inspiration. I am in the U.K. And I call lunch lunch and eve meal dinner. But I grew up calling lunch dinner and dinner tea!!! No wonder I am a confused adult lol! But what ever time it is..It's crafting time! Lol.
Thanks Donna. It really is great. I think the dinner time tea time is a northern thing. About 15 years ago I stayed with a friend near Uxbridge. She was surprised when I arrived around 1pm as I told her I'd be there about dinner time😂😁💜
Hey hey 😊👋 new person here to you 😁 live in the north of Sweden,, came over you in IG, and such a wonderful way to bound the cover stuff together 😀👏,, and the fabrics looks goooood 😍. Love Edith Holden 😊👌❤️,, exacting to see the next video. Byeee 👋💕😊
That looks so easy and oh that fabric is SO GORGEOUS. I've always used fabri tac but sometimes I've been a bit heavy handed with it and it's seeped through the fabric a bit. Will definitely be getting myself some heat n bond. Great tutorial Julie, tfs 👍
Your welcome Zoe. 💜 Heat n bond really is a game changer i find. Btw when i added the link for it i noticed its now in stock in the UK and a bit cheaper at the mo.
Hi Julie found you on Instagram so new subscriber to your channel looking forward to watching your channel and crafting along tfs greetings from ireland 🇮🇪🤗
I have been using H & B for years on applique, and never thought to use it like this for a JJ cover, what a brilliant idea. I enjoyed this video so much, I am from Yorkshire too (living in France now) and the bit about "tea" made me laugh, which part of Yorkshire are you from. I am South Yorkshire.
Thanks Evie😊 i pondered the exact same think but haven't tried yet. I'm thinking if i glue a piece of chipboard, the width of the spine needed to the centre of the card before i cover with fabric. Then stich up eother side of the spine it may work🤔🤗💜
Ooh I need that bond stuff, I’ve always used glue but this seems very easy, I wonder if they sell smaller pieces so I can try it, I may have to visit Akahban fabrics, they should sell it there I Hope 🤞🏻 xx tfs
What size did you cut your fabric? I can't seem to find that in the video. Thanks so much! I'm going to try making this as soon as I get the correct size. :)
Heat and Bond is great. Never would have thought to use it in this way. Thanks
I've been known to use it to stick 2 sheets of card when i'm feeling very lazy😘😊🤗💜
Beautiful fabric.
Thanks lovely☺️🤗💜
I really love this fabric. Thanks for this video Julie 🌷
Thanks Helen😊🤗💜
Wow, your 2nd video! Very cool! I've seen a ton of your videos and didn't think I'd get back to your 2nd one!!! Awesome!
Thank you for this video. So informative. Love the fabric!
You're welcome love, really glad you enjoyed it 😊🤗💜

Oh, most definitely. I wish I could craft instead of sleeping😁💜
Julie I am trying to follow your journal and I am slowly doing the folio thingy!
That's brilliant Vanessa. 😁I can't wait to see it. If you need any help just give me a shout😊💜
Love your style on every level!
Thank you so much Tracey😊😁💜
Ooh I can’t wait to try this! I’ve always wondered how a fabric cover is made.
I've only made one fabric covered journal and this looks much easier than how I did mine.
It's the easiest method I've found Katrina if you don't want too many wrinkles. It's pretty quick too😊🤗💜
Gorgeous cover! 🥰
Thanks love 😊 🤗💜
Great video, I'am about to make my first soft cover journal. Definitely going to buy the heat n bond, thanks for the clear instructions.
Thanks Yvonne, so glad you enjoyed it. 😁Yes the heat n bond it a fab product and very cost effective. 💜
Yay she's back!!
Excited to see Edith woooohooo what a banger 🤗
Lots of good tips Julie 😁
Thank you Tania. Our Edith is a top girl😁💜
Fab video Julie! That heat and bond looks great!
And for the record, breakfast, dinner and tea are the correct meal names in my book!! 😂
Thanks Donna. It really is great.

Thank you so much for popping over.
The amount of waffling I do, you'll get lots of crafting done😘💜

Thank you so much for popping over Lori💜
It looks like a nice way to do a soft cover. Would it work for a journal with more than one signature? Or would that need an actual spine area?
Thanks Evie😊 i pondered the exact same think but haven't tried yet. I'm thinking if i glue a piece of chipboard, the width of the spine needed to the centre of the card before i cover with fabric. Then stich up eother side of the spine it may work🤔🤗💜
@@CameliaCraftsDesigns Thank you. I think your idea would work to just give it some shape and still be soft. I'll give it a try. ❤️

Thank you for watching. I've messaged you 😁💜
What size did you cut your fabric? I can't seem to find that in the video. Thanks so much! I'm going to try making this as soon as I get the correct size. :)
Hi Michelle, I cut it about 1 inch longer and wider than my piece of card, hope that helps 😊🤗💜
@@CameliaCraftsDesigns Was your card letter size? 8.5 x 11"?
what are the sizes you are cutting?
Hi Janine, i can't honestly remember, but i'm sure i do say so in the video😊🤗💜
