Really nice to see working. So much nostalgia in watching these lovely old combines. Anyone else remember the long hot summer days watching lovely old combines cutting up and down. When combines were proper. Not like today's electronic garbage.
I would be inclined to agree with you. For its time (late 1970's early 1980's) it was ahead of its time. A testament to it them that a few are still around earning their keep
In actual fact they were from the earlier 70s. I have an as new one of them from 1973 with a 15 ft header and only under 300 genuine hrs away ahead of their time then.
Ever tried to get at the top elevator sprocket on one of them on a scorching harvest day behind that lovely big yellow panel? Lovely old combine indeed but a nightmare to access most of the moving parts either side of the engine

The 1545 were probably the best machine clayson ever made or maybe the best combine ever made nice and simple and reliable and easy to maintain.
