I would never buy a rebuilt starter at all always buy a new even if it cost $300 it saves in the long run just my opinion thanks for the video have great day
This was a very interesting process you went through. My 2018 Pacifica has a CAN'T START issue where the brake is locked and no lights of any kind on instrument panel. This is after the STOP/START hasn't worked all winter but dealer replaced the 2nd battery for that but it still doesn't work. Then the REMOTE START stopped working but intermittently. Took it back to dealer - they said it worked fine for them. This has all happened within the last month! There has got to be a correlation between all these problems right?! Electrical miscommunication? Have no idea and apparently Chrysler doesn't have any idea either. I'd like to get it started, drive it to Car Max and dump it off!!
@@martinestanzione5485 Hey Martin, sorry you're having this very dangerous problem. I actually got a postcard notifying me that I am included in a Class Action Suite against Chrysler for this issue. You may want to ask at your car dealership if they are aware of that. But, to answer your question...after seeing UA-cam videos of stranded people in dangerous situations I did exactly what I said I wanted to do: got it started, drove it to CarMax and traded it in! This was a year before I received the Class Action notification but I was just too afraid to drive it anymore. I CAN NOT believe Chrysler hasn't fixed this problem yet!
The random engine shutting down for no reason. Sometimes it would start again but other times it wouldn’t. Sometimes a jump would work. None of the power would work. Brakes, windows, steering. Service dept wouldn’t admit there was anything wrong. Some people would get stranded and had to be towed. The class action suit failed so no one was compensated in any way.

I’m hoping it’s just the battery, since the minivan has been sitting all through the coronapocalypse and not going anywhere. Tried jumping with a jump kit and my car, no dice. Sounded the same - no turnover or anything. Lights, radio, AC, etc., all work when connecting to jump unit or car. How hard is it to swap out the starter?
It's crazy in this day and age that the car doesn't tell you automatically what's wrong with all these fancy computers in it. But the manufacturer spend so much time creating more gadgets that are useless instead of a systems check that will make life a thousand times easier for owners when they get stranded and can tell right away what's wrong
I got about the same issue with my wife's Pacifica 17. The basic test at Advance Auto parts shows no trouble on Battery, Alternator or Starter. At least it will start with a jump. It keeps doing it once in a while. I'll have to go to a dealer or mechanic shop for proper diagnostic. Not very satisfied with the quality of this car. We have had several issues. I have no time or desire to continue.
Was the brakes on your Pacifica hard when you tried to start it cause my van won’t start and brakes are hard but do lights go on so does retro but it won’t start

My 2017 Pacifica died and wouldn't restart due to bad fuel pump. 5 years old with 73K miles, well maintained. $700-1300 repair at Dealer.

learn how to be a machinic. the cars do tell you what is wrong, you just have to understand what they are saying.

I just changed my starter.
And it did nothing. Same issue you’re having, and the new (rebuilt) starter did the same.
What did you wind up doing to fix it? I had my starter tested, replaced smal aux battery. It still won't crank.

Disable your start and stop function. It is killing the starter!
